The plates and cups were very dirty, although the silverware seemed clean. The mashed potatoes were obviously fake and even had powdery spots in them. Hadn't been to this restaurant in many years, but was going to a concert in Zanesville and stopped for dinner before...arrived around 4:45PM... It is like stepping back into the 80's...same booths, same lack of ambiance and same rushed service to turn over tables as quickly as possible. After several times telling the server; we would enjoy a cocktail before we ordered, she continued to ask if we were ready to order... We order the strip steak and the mexican baked potato....what we got was a steak the was a FLANK steak, No seasoning and thin, salad was soggy and baked potato was small and cold (butter did not melt!!} Mexican bake potato was small and cold. Don't waste your $$$ or time going to this establishment!!! We live in Licking County and try to support local businesses in the surrounding area. We will not be back and will tell our friend/family about our experience. read more

The waitresses were great. Fast and you could really tell they were busting their butts to get things done. My fiancé and I ordered regular drinks, Mountain Dew and sweet tea. My tea was brown sugar water and the pop or ice needed a cleaning. The food was horrible. I got a prime rib special, which was $19 and came with two sides. The prime rib looked like it was boiled and had no seasoning. It did come with a plate full of water juice, however. I got sautéed mushrooms as one of my sides and it was literally sliced canned mushrooms that sat on the grill a little too long. No seasoning. For my second side I got mashed potatoes and gravy, it was a big portion and tasted good, but you can't go wrong with instant mashed potatoes. Having been a tourist visiting this area for the past several years I've driven past this restaurant many times and never tried it, till now. The outside of the building reminded me of a 70s or 80s restaurant/ lounge, with the single story floor plan, darker colors entry way marquee. As I entered the restaurant the special of the day was written on a chalkboard to the left. Since it was Friday, the special was Prime Rib. I took a seat at the bar and ordered a beer. In no time at all the beer arrived. It was cold and it was a beer. I also ordered the special, medium rare, a side order of corn, and a side order of mashed potatoes and gravy. All for less than $17. Before I go any further, I'll admit that this was not (anyway) near my best Prime Rib meal, however the prices are fair and the food is well within the "okay " range. So, here we go: The meat was a good portion. It was closer to medium well than medium rare. It was a little under seasoned, certainly lacking salt. There was a large, 3", hunk of fat that should have been trimmed. No au jus and no horse radish and not much of a crust on the slice. The meat was of good quality and despite the listed shortcomings was not bad. I'd give it a C+. The corn was out of a can, maybe a little butter added. Nothing special. The mashed potatoes were, well, mashed potatoes. Again nothing special. The gravy, on the other hand was straight from a can. With the awesome juices from the prime rib they really missed an opportunity for some top notch gravy. The mashed potatoes and corn gets a C. The gravy, D. I wonder what happened to all those drippings. Wrapping this up I'd say that the meal was fair, properly priced. The service was adequate and thought this review might sound somewhat negative, it was not intended that way. I would probably eat there again. read more

We really wanted this place to be good. Really. We've made several trips between Cbus and E Ohio and drive right by this restaurant dozens of times. Having a place to stop for good food would have been wonderful. Olde Falls wasn't. First, the place had an odd smell that hits you when you walk in the door. My wife called it "turpentiney". We were seated almost immediately and they took our drink order right off the bat. So, I can't complain about the service. Better. My wife ordered sweet tea and I a dirty martini on the rocks. Mine wasn't very dirty and had ONE sad, small olive floating in the drink without a pick. She ordered French onion soup and nachoes and I the prime rib special with baked potato. The soup had an odd taste with lots of pepper and something "seedy" and was lukewarm. The nachoes were a tasteless cheese wiz mess. The baked potato was not hot enough to melt the butter it was served with. I will say the prime rib, while not very hot, was tender, tasty, and mostly meat not fat. It was the only reason this review got two stars and not one. I can't justify or understand the favorable reviews I've read. I normally try to submit positive reviews rather than negative ones, but the fact that there are so many 4-5 star reviews posted, I felt someone had to balance this out. My friend & I decided on a whim to get dinner and I suggested Old Falls since I hadn't been there for years! Same great food and super relaxed atmosphere, except now there are no pool tables but they've got a beautiful outdoor seating area! We ended up eating inside because the patio was super crowded. I ordered chicken Philly with sweet potato fries, both absolutely delicious! And he got a burger and salad, again absolutely delicious! All House-made dressings & so insanely good! And holy cow I almost forgot the best part to mention, the wings! We split an order of wings and they were seriously the best wings I've ever had! Juicy inside & crispy outside with just the perfect amount of sauce! Only a couple draw backs; first, not enough wait staff so we had to wait a while to be seated and second, as we ordered and then ate the flies and mosquitos got increasingly worse due to the connecting patio door being open. But we made a game out of catching as many as we could lol yeah, I'd still go back and fight off the flies & mosquitoes for another amazing meal...giving 5 stars even with the longer wait & flying bugs inside haha but we'll try the patio next time where the flies & mosquitoes are actually supposed to be ;) read more

In Zanesville for a weekend meeting and found this local place on Yelp. We were probably the only visitors, everyone else looked like locals, lots of families, friends and couples. We seated ourselves and were approached almost immediately for drinks that landed on our table in a minute! We ordered the deep fried mushrooms with cocktail sauce to start. They arrived hot and delicious! We both ordered the prime rib , rare, with horseradish sauce, salads and home fries. First, the salad was super basic, lettuce and dressing, it was fresh and a large portion, I enjoyed it but don't look for field greens and nuts here. The prime rib came out just as ordered, rare, a beautiful au jus and tasty horseradish sauce. Which come to think of would be a great sauce to offer with the mushrooms. The meat was very good and a very good value for 15 oz cut for 15.95. The home fries were hot and crispy. The dessert was the only reason I took a star away. The banana cream pie was ordinary as was the chocolate sheet cake. Our server was pleasant and knowledgeable about the menu. We recommend this local spot to anyone passing through Zanesville, I know we will return. read more

I've been coming here for 20 plus years. I have my favorite foods here but they have had a complete change in dining room staff and not for the good. Very disappointed in the initial service as we walked in the door. We went with a large group of people, called ahead of time in the morning to let them know we would be doing so and ask if it was okay and if they could accommodate us, to which they responded they could and were very pleasant about it. When we walked in the door we were greeted by a very rude bar tender, who let us know we were blocking up her bar and that none of her customers could get in to get there checkout we asked her if she would prefer we go to the tables in the back and stand back there and wait, her response was I guess you can but don't go back there and stare at people rudly and make them uncomfortable until they leave, because your tables aren't ready, then she proceeded to tell us we could wait outside. What a horrible way to start our group dinner, it was obvious that we were not wanted there and if we didn't have a very large group we would have left and went elsewhere. One of the ladies explained they don't do reservations, I'm pretty sure your boss is who I spoke to and he said he could accommodate us this morning. There were several waitresses, but only one waitress for our group of 30, who looked to be about 9 months pregnant, no one else would help her, they were to busy standing at the end of the bar gossiping and talking to each other. The one waitress we did have did her best to keep up with us and did a great job for what she had on her plate but I couldn't believe no one helped her. She was very apologetic I felt horrible for her. It seemed like our food was held until all other customers were served. It was obvious no one wanted us there, due to being a large group. I wanted to support a local business and not a chain restaurant but was more than disappointed and won't be going back. So the rude, unapproachable bar tender and staff other than our one waitress who did great and did it all by herself won, we won't be back.. Way to chase off good tipping customers. OK, we've lived in the Zanesville area for over four years, and ate at the Olde Falls Inn for the third time since being here last evening, so I figure I've seen enough and ate enough to give it a fair appraisal. My initial appraisal was good to pretty good. After last night, I have to say it is very good. I had their prime rib last night, and I believe it was the best I've eaten in the area, and I've eaten several meals of prime rib since relocating here. Cooked just right, nice size slice of meat, and very fair price. The other three people with me on this visit felt the same about their meal choices, except for my wife who ordered the small ribeye steak. It was cut very thin, and had very little flavor. She ordered it medium and it appeared very well done and was pretty dry. It was just to thin a cut to allow the cook a chance to get it right. A few suggestions: most of the food we have had is very good - but avoid the small ribeye. The house salad is very simple, lettuce, cheese (if you order it), and dressing. Everyone seems to be ordering the wings, but I haven't tried them yet. Don't be in a hurry in the evening, they are very very busy! How I rated the Olde Falls Inn: the food gets a 4+, the facility gets a 4, the service gets a 5 and the value gets a 5. The Prime Rib meal gets a 5+ from me. Will we return? In the next few days for sure to try those wings that everyone was ordering! Update: We love their Pot Pie, Taco Salad and their Chef Salad with Sweet & Sour dressing, but something has happened to their prime rib and service. I have ordered the prime rib 2 weeks in a row rare, and have received it medium well both times. The meat is therefore tough, mushy and tasteless. In addition, our meal last weekend for our party of 6 took 2 hours 40 minutes from our time getting there to when we finished. Two of the meals had cold baked potatoes, one had a steak that was burnt to a crisp, and my prime rib was not only way over done but 1/2 the thickness of others being served. It's a shame that the restaurant that has such a good food has such mediocre waitstaff. I would think the patron who spends nearly $200 a week in the establishment should expect just average service apparently that is not possible in this location. Year and Years ago I played Music In this Place! It was more of a BAR then, it still has the Bar but it is more a restaurant than a bar. On a recent trip back home My wife and I wanted a decent meal away from the BS chain deals that seem to be overrunning Zanesville so we opted for the old favorite here! We arrived and as usual it was packed and it was a weeknight (always a good sign ) We found the last Booth open and had a seat. we were met with a smile and a menu within seconds of sitting down, the waiter took our drink order and we ordered My favorite appetizers Pepper Poppers.... a when our waiter came back with our drinks we placed our orders, I ALWAYS get the Delmonico steak medium rare,baked potato and salad with the Old Falls famous homemade blue cheese dressing (The best around for sure!) my wife ordered the Rib Eye with homemade mashed potatoes and the same salad...... everything came to us cooked to perfection and delicious. ANYONE wanting a decent Meal while passing through Zanesville and might like to Have a Couple drinks or even shoot a couple games of Pool on their Excellent Pool Tables this is the Place for you! read more

I have never gotten my food in what seems like a reasonable amount of time here, even when it didn't seem that busy. My husband and I have been about 9 or 10 times in the past three years. We stopped going because we just don't have the time anymore. The atmosphere is good, lots of folks eating and drinking and being merry. There seems to be an overly-stressed manager always running around, however. The wing sauce is amazing, and the wings are perfect - meaty and crispy. For sure the best in Zanesville. I also enjoy their fried fish. I've found the burgers to be bland, and my salad orders have been notoriously wrong each time. Overall, with the exception of the wings, there isn't anything on the menu that I don't make at home. Doesn't seem worth the wait. read more

So my dad and I were riding around Zanesville just trying to get out of the house . We had noticed that everywhere else there was to sit down and eat was completely packed. He recommended to me that we go to the Olde Falls Inn. I had never been there before and he said it had been years since he had been there, so i was willing to give it a try. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with fries and he ordered a fish sandwich with fries. I took a picture of my sandwich. I must say it looked good and after the first bite it exceeded my expectations. The food was excellent and the service was fast which i love. I definitely will go back again. read more

Try the taco soup...amazing! Prices are decent and interior of the building was updated within the past few years. Definitely a place to try (they are open 7 days a week). Was excited to find this place based on previous review. Started out great! The soup (French onion) was outstanding. The salad came with a smile, but little else - no onion, crouton, pepper, etc. Just lettuce. The NY Strip was also a little blah as well. My husband and I wanted to try something different. Tired of the same old chain restaurants. Nice place very friendly. I order a New York strip steak. It had No flavor what so ever. I also had coleslaw which was very good and cauliflower some pieces were luke warm other pieces were stone cold. My husband had a side salad and all that was just iceberg lettuce smothered with cheese and dressing. YUCK! He also ordered chicken wings and they were out of this world. Cooked perfectly. The blue cheese was very watery. The only reason I give 3 stars were for the wings and the friendliness of the waitress. It is a little pricey. read more
