I went to Olde Towne Donuts in the Bluffs of Fenton before our class at the Little Gym. I know this is a popular place but I am partial to my local St. Louis city favs. I feel that these were fairly pricey compared to my usual joints and the donuts were good but not amazing on my trip. I did visit at 11am so it was pretty picked over that's why I can't be too hard on them. I do love a good old fashion donut place that doesn't try too hard and just delivers a good product. As someone else mentioned in their review Fenton doesn't have a lot of local restaurants so I would encourage everyone to support the ones that are there! read more

Cute little donut shop hidden in this strip mall. Found it because we were shopping at the At Home store nearby and wanted something sweet before heading back to our hotel. Shop is open 24 hours on the weekend. When you walk in, the smell is pure donut heaven. Nice selection of donuts, many different traditional and unique flavors. Staff is so friendly it made the trip here even better. They were all busy making beautiful FRESH donuts. Yet took the time to help us and answer any questions we had. We got 1/2 dozen - old fashioned, blueberry and I believe someone got a chocolate donut. They were all really good. I've been going here for a bit. This is the only place I can find "non-cakes" French Cruller doughnuts.. I stop by there wherever I'm in the area. They close at 1:30 pm, but reopen at 8 in the evening. The service is wonderful, the place is clean and the staff is friendly. read more

Olde Towne Donuts makes a fair product. They are at a convenient location. Two starts instead of one, for these reasons. I stopped in to pick up for the office. It was a spontaneous request - please stop and pick up an assortment on the way in. I stopped by and asked for 5 dozen, assorted. In my 50 years, I have NEVER been treated so rudely. I did not offer one negative word or thought, but was chastised THREE times for bringing them this business. Why hadn't I called ahead the night before? Why didn't I know exactly what I wanted? To be clear, their were 4 people behind the counter, and I was their only customer. They were NOT busy. Four things were clear to me, after my stop.... - Do not go to OTD if you do not know exactly what you want. They apparently can not handle a random assortment request. - Do not go to OTD if you want more than a few items. In spite of plenty of product on hand and time to pull it, they clearly can not handle this kind of request either. - My sense is that business at OTD must be amazing! They can liberally afford to act like asses to their irregular customers. Good for them! - I will be damned if I will go back their again. Hopefully, your experience will be better. read more

Just went today sat in line for 30 mins. Which was no big deal. Ordered 2 dozen donut. A dozen glazed and a dozen variet. They was disgusting. They were cold. Ice cold. Hard and crunchy. The ones that was supposed to have filling had just a marble size filling. We drove 20 mins to get them. They was busy. Didn't mind having to wait. But to a product they probably wouldn't even feed to their family is unacceptable. I understand stand help is hard to get. If I was the store manager. That product would not be going out my window. Let me start off, with saying how much I love donuts. My family has worked in the business many years in the past. This is one of the worst places. Not even because of their food. The donuts are not bad. Usually very fresh, and they have a wide variety. But I have been here 3 times, and every time I come here the people are so amazingly rude to me that I refuse to go back. And it's not even the grunts that are rude. All 3 times it's been different people and every single one of them doesn't care about their customers. They have custard filled and long John's. They were able to put together 15 dozen donuts for me on very short notice. Yesterday I woke up craving a donut. But, not a Krispy Kreme, or one of the other mass-produced, boring, convenience store type donuts, but a real, home style, soft, fresh, melt in your mouth donut ... the kind I remember my mom getting on Sunday mornings from the local, family owned shop. Well, much to my surprise, and happiness, Olde Towne Donuts in Fenton was able to provide me with such a donut (2 of them, to be honest), and they were delicious! Upon pulling up to the store, I walked in, and looked around, waiting for my turn at the counter. The store itself is very simple, lots of racks filled with donuts waiting to be placed into the glass serving cases in the front, but that's fine with me. I don't need frills in my donut shoppe. What I do need is cleanliness, and Olde Towne Donuts delivered on that front. The store is bright and clean, and the service is good, too. The lady behind the counter, who I'm pretty sure was the owner, was very pleasant, greeted me with a smile, and quickly completed my transaction. The donuts I tried (so far) are their chocolate Long John, which was soft in the middle, coated with a perfect chocolate frosting, and generally very tasty, and an old-fashioned. I think the old-fashioned was my favorite. Perfectly soft and spongy on the inside, it was fried to perfection on the outside, making for a great combination of slightly crisp and soft, all at once. In addition to this, the outside was generously coated in glaze, and very pleasing to the taste buds. As Rachael Ray would say ... YUM-O! I will definitely return to Olde Towne Donuts. Though the shop is on my way to work during the work week, I would be willing to make the 18 mile drive from my house to the shoppe, on a weekend morning if I was in a donut mood, because they're just that good. UPDATE......Spoke w/ manager who was very kind and interested in situation. He apologized and said he'd try to rectify things. Very cool place!!!!! The donuts here are really tasty when they let you in to buy them. Twice now I've gone there on the weekend and been denied entry even though someone is working inside in plain sight. The hours listed on the door say they are open 24 hours on Saturday and Sunday but the same guy was working both times and rudely refused to open the door. Either change the hours or staff the store better. Another time I did manage to get in but was told how inconvenient I and a couple other customers were being because he had SO MUCH to get done in such a short amount of time. If my kid didn't really like these donuts I'd never go back. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! ONLY THE ONE BAD EMPLOYEE THOUGH. Food was good. Service was bad. I didn't see what I wanted, so I asked. Sometimes they have them in racks. The guy behind the counter said in a snarky tone "I only have what you see". I understand running out of various product. I have no issue if they don't have what I am hoping for. What annoys me is the way he acted. Best donuts in STL! My fiancé and I happened upon this donut shop on Sunday. It was 1pm, and we weren't sure if it would be open. But it's open 24 hours on the weekend. The first of its many amazing qualities. There are many choices: cake, glazed, jelly filled, custard filled, sprinkles, topped with candy, plain, etc. So many options. And for the most part, they are all the same price. There are a few that are 15 cents more. But that's an amazing deal. On top of the price and options, the taste was too good.
