It was still leaking. I previously had Chris clean the DE filter about a year ago. I called Chris a week ago and he said he would come on Wednesday July 17 with a used Jandy filter to replace the DE filter. He quoted me a price of $750 which included the cartridges. I thought the price was reasonable. He also gave me a 2 year warranty on the filter. He came on Wednesday July 17 with Jesus who helped him install the Jandy filter. He did haul away the bad DE filter. The pool seems to be working fine now. I would recommend this company to others looking for pool repairs.

The pool had been very clear since we had just changed providers and it did not require an algicide. It's not removable once poured in. We paid for service every month all autumn and winter. The bills were always hard to decipher as to which service period it covered. Later, they tried to charge me for December's in April despite not having showed up for several weeks during that timeframe. Communication/responses to my enquiries were largely non-existent. In May, several additional charges started appearing that were unspecific. I asked Tyler in person if the pool was safe for my children to swim and he replied yes. I asked him if the salt was OK and he said something like it was hard to tell. My kids then swam in mid-May during a heat wave. I took a pool sample to Leslie's a few days later out of curiosity and it failed abysmally. Free chlorine was 0.1 when it should be 1.0-4.0. The salt was 1200 when it should have been 2700-3400ppm. Everything was out of range. pH, phosphates and alkalinity too high. Calcium too low. I hope my children don't get sick. When he responded to my cancellation he had the nerve to claim our pool was locked that one week, which is simply not true. On the contrary, the gate had been open when they didn't show that one week because we were working outside all day. Would it have dropped so precipitously after just one week anyway? Should not have.

We asked for a quote to install a pool heater. When we received the quote, they required a 50% down payment. We gave them the 50%. That was months ago. As of this date, they have not installed the pool heater. They started to repair our pool sweep. It needed a very common part, available from Leslie's Pool. As of today, the pool sweep has not had not been repaired. We finally had enough, and fired them. I give a poor review, which accurately represents their level of service. We are very disappointed with them and recommend caution to their customers

I was happy to discover that salesman Steve there in Gilroy is incredibly knowledgable, helpful and low pressure (I for one cannot tolerate that sort of stress) and there was a wideselection of hot tub models. We discussed our needs with him and after some comparison shopping finally decided upon on a Caldera Seychelles (really glad we didn't impulsively go with Costco for this decision!!!) Steve was even able to recommend an electrician who often hooks up this brand and has an ongoing relationship with HTW. My wife had some real concerns about access to our yard but they were dispelled once we did a facetime video call down our pathway and clarified the dimensions needed. When it came time for delivery it was fascinating how professional and careful the crew was, like a brutish ballet! Now basking in the glorious 102-degree temperature of our tub, as our tensions melt away we now think that this might have been one of the better decisions of our life!

I wish I could select no stars…read more -Timeliness. If they can drag something out, they will. I had multiple appointments canceled for nonsensical reasons. They told me multiple times that they weren't coming out due to rain, even though the forecast didn't call for any. So when the day came and Surprise, it wasn't raining, they called saying they had a flat tire or something trivial. Let's be real. They didn't want to come out and found an excuse. Being the "only pool service that AHS uses" they should have more than one company car. The real reason is that they just didn't want to honor their agreement. -Professionalism- I have never met a more unprofessional person than Dale. The entire time I talked to him, on multiple occasions, he would talk over me and talk down to me. I have owned and operated pools for decades and his take on the situation seemed fraudulent. He always spoke to me as if I were an ignorant child. He proposed false and inappropriate appraisals of the situation. Dale tried to tell me, that barely anything was going to be covered by my plan and I would need to pay substantially out of pocket. To be honest, it sounded like he was intoxicated on a few occasions. He seemed so desperate to get parts ordered. It seemed like a ploy, as having this company order parts would lock me into service with them. I adamantly told him that I didn't want him to do anything without my consent first. Horrible customer service. -Problem Resolution - There was none! A simple pool pump repair turned into a nightmare with American Pool and Spa. They would have dragged this request on for Months! I was better off finding my own local and reliable pool guy. What a joke. Do yourself and your pool a favor and choose ANYONE else for pool service and repair. And Dale, you might want to look into AA.

I decided to also get a new booster pump while I was at it. Dale is super professional and I always appreciated his prompt communication and his crew being able to address urgent issues and being very friendly and helpful.
