My pool was green, my husband had tried to correct the issues but my pool was green. I called K&D because I was tired of not being able to swim and two visits later my pool is cleaner then it has ever been!!! It sparkles. I called on the weekend and Dennis (the owner) was at my house on Monday to asses the situation. On Tuesday my filter was cleaned, pool sweep optimized, and the correct chemicals added. Wednesday I could see the bottom of the pool and Thursday it was clear!!! I'm signed up for weekly service now and it's so nice not having to think about pool maintenance at all. Since there highly trained & knowledgeable technician (Greg) left the company since (October 2019) of last year (the past 4 months) the quality & detail of service has drastically declined. The employee replacement (Juan) does a ok job, but have notice a hit & miss job within the past 30 days (February), as it usually takes the technician 15-20 minutes to service my pool/hotub, he has come and gone within 5 minutes, forgetting to brush bottom and sides of pool, changing pool catch, etc. Also, I tested the pool myself as I have strip kit I purchased from a different vendor (Leslie Pool Supply), the readings were way off as they put too much chemicals in the pool, I needed to verify this with another pool expert who came out and he confirmed exactly what I projected, K & D Quality Pools messed up my pool/hotub (look at attached picture) as you will see not normal to have these shampoo bubbles. The straw that broke the camels back is I get weekly service on Tuesday's well on 2/11 came and went, no service, no phone call message, no heads up, no text message, no email, just a flaky & unreliable company that doesn't know how to communicate with there valued & loyal customer. I kept my gate unlocked the entire day from 7am to 9pm, I was not happy about this. The research I have done, 80% of homeowners keep there side gates locked for security & liability reasons, this gives me peace of mind. Well, I get a phone call two days too late and they gave a lame reason of windstorm issue which I don't believe. Well, during that week I found a new company that is highly respected, that will start on March 1st, recommended by my client who has been very happy. K & D Quality Pools just lost a outstanding customer, which in this day & age must be difficult for them to retain there customers. read more

I have been using this company for my pool services for almost 8 years now and I have no complaints what so ever. I think that is a pretty good track record. Joe (who comes every week to my house) is a really nice guy and always makes sure that whatever I need or mention to him is taken care of. Denny (one of the owners, I believe) always double checks to make sure things are dealt with and that I'm happy with the results. The price is totally competetive and has only been raised 2 times since I started with them (not by much either). Overall, a really trustworthy company. read more

I was a customer of Denny's for 8 years+ and in the beginning, service was good and responsive but declined considerably to the point I had enough. When the pump broke down, Denny recommended a lower power single speed 1hp pump as a replacement, the original pump was 1.5 hp. I argued for a more energy efficient variable speed pump but Denny was insistent, the 1 hp pump was energy efficient and had more than enough power and said I would be wasting my money on a more powerful pump. I trusted him and went along with the 1hp pump for a total fee of $875. When summer came and water was pumped to the solar heaters on the roof, the new pump would overheat and stop. Clearly the pump Denny recommended was not powerful enough to power working with the solar heaters. Either Denny was inept or dishonest. In mid 2016, Denny replaced a long standing worker with a kid who clearly wasn't interested in the job. Algae started growing, the pool took a greenish hue and on reporting it Denny would give excuses saying it was not algae. The kid later fessed up to us. This happened over and over again for the next 3 months and Denny would come and cleanup. Denny also started getting unresponsive, we needed to call him few times before he responded - I suppose he was getting inundated with other customers too. I then decided to terminate as I wasn't getting the service I was paying good money for. Sad to see a good business go downhill. read more

I am a Cupertino resident. I am very happy with Denny and his team. I had a bad algae problem. This problem could not be fixed by my pool service company. Can't ask much more of these guys. They show up and do their job dependably and they're a great resource when things go wrong. I bought a house with an old pool and a lot of old broken equipment and K & D basically talked me out of overpaying for big upgrades while getting the pool in great shape very quickly. When I was pricing out solar heat they also connected me with someone that saved me thousands of dollars. Everyone I've dealt with has been great and seemed to genuinely want to solve every problem as quickly and affordably as possible. I highly recommend K & D. They are very professional and knowledgable. I called them because my previous pool guys didn't know what he was doing. I uncovered my pool for my kids to swim and it was green. I called K&D and I talked to Denny. He was very nice on the phone and made an appointment for the next morning. Kenny was here first time in the morning cleaning my green pool and filter. He educate me and my husband about my pool, solar, filters, etc. He went above and beyond to make my pool look beautiful. Wow!! Denny and Tim provide the BEST pool service! After 20 years, we've had our share of service providers. They either over charged or under delivered. Not K&D. Their prices are reasonable and they over deliver. In the rare event, the pool isn't perfectly crystal clear, they are back out to fix it and it make it that way. I don't know what happened to my earlier post on Yelp about K&Q's quality and responsiveness of their service, or lack of, but we were a long time client (since 2001) of K&Ds and after waiting 4 weeks for them to fix a leak in our system, I called another service and they were able to fix it in 2 hours. Outstanding service, quality of work, reliability, and professionalism. Denny is great, and Josh who does my pool is the best. They are trustworthy, honest, and consistent. I have been with them for seven years and whenever I have an issue I don't get a sell, I get a solution...often a much cheaper solution (I too had a pump issue) than I expected. Recommended them to my neighbor and even got a $50 discount on my bill for a "referral" program I didn't know existed. Talk about honest! These guys are awesome, very reasonable prices, and never try to upsell/overcharge for things. They actually talked me into not trying to upgrade my pump and filter system, saying it was actually a decent model, and will last a lot longer. Additionally, my neighbors tree gets a ton of needles into the pool each week, causing regular havoc with the filters, baskets, etc. and they always keep the system in tip top shape with no extra cost. They are also very responsive on the phone when you need your hot tub running and you forget how to prime the pump, or do something they've already told you how to do 100 times. read more

I have been a long time customer of K and D. They are excellent at maintenance and weekly pool cleaning. I can set my clock by when they show up every week. They spend extra time to clean out the leaves in the fall when it's windy. I've also had them replace my pool's heater unit. Dennis is very nice, friendly and knowledgable about pools and their best operation. I would highly recommend these guys to regularly care for your pool property. read more

Horrible company. Performed poor service. Owner is extremely rude and arrogant. Insisted on helping himself to change whatever settings he felt necessary on our pool pump. Billed us for repairs that were never authorized, and worst of all, had a horrible attitude whn we nicely discussed this with him. His response was simply "things must be done our way or you can clean your own pool." We're switching to a different service that treats their customers with more respect! read more
