He has been more than reliable, he has built a trust that is rare these days. When he makes a suggestion I know that it is in my best interest. He explained everything along the way and went above and beyond on what I asked to be done. It is so great to work with someone local that is dependable and trustworthy. I have had South Valley Pool Service servicing my pool for a few years now. When I first moved into this house, I tried for a few months to clean the pool on my own and adjust the pool chemicals. I soon became tired of it and was unable to keep up with this task. Hiring South Valley Pool Service was the best decision I have made in regards to this house. Mr. Rodriguez, owner and operator, comes once a week like clockwork and only has missed Chirstmas week and Easter week. He also is a good friend of my dogs and gives them a good visit when he sees them. I appreciate his hard work, I never have to worry about my pool. It is also nice to see him around town and is just an all around friendly, good guy. As far as billing goes, He sends me an invoice via email, with services provided and amount due. I have my servicing account number and his address on my bill pay through online banking. That way I save myself a stamp! I have been a customer for four years. Reno is honest, trustworthy, and friendly. He always does an excellent job. My experience with the services that South Valley Pool Service provides extends to general pool cleaning, regular chemicals, spring opening, fall closing, winter chemical maintenance, and damage control. I note these various services because we've never had a professional clean our pool regularly -- for the most part I keep up on it myself. However, when a situation arises where I've been unable to get the job done, Reno has always been gracious about coming to the rescue - quickly. He'll work us into his schedule if I need him to do regular service for us for a while or he'll do "damage control" when the chemicals I used could not keep up with unexpected warmer weather. A murky (or even green!) pool is quickly turned to beautifully clear once Reno arrives. I should also note that I am super, super picky - and if I weren't so determined to do the work myself, Reno would definitely be servicing our pool all the time (not just when my schedule prevents my doing it). Not just anyone can provide the level of friendly, customer service that South Valley Pool Service provides. Reno is very conscientious in his work; he will return over a period of a few days if that's what it takes to get the pool cleaned to his satisfaction. If you want the work performed correctly and reliably, then South Valley Pool Service definitely can provide that! One last thing to note - Reno is tech-savvy, which means he uses email and text messages (with a quick turnaround). This is super helpful for someone with a busy schedule. read more

I give SVPS 5 stars only because that is the max amount I am able to give. I have tried a few pool services in Hollister with less than satisfactory results. Both Reno and his daughter who is currently servicing my pool have never disappointed, they are always there when they say they will be and always take care of any issue I am having (which I usually cause). In summary, these guys are the best in Hollister. My only criticism would be, he is a raiders fan, but nobody is perfect. read more

He as available by text and e-mail, which I loved because sometimes I can be a hard person to get on the phone. But he's happy to chat on the phone, too. Reno came over that day and checked out our pool. He is very friendly, honest and his rates are affordable. He gave me some good tips on basic pool management, reviewed the materials that the prior owners left with the pool, as well as the cover and the pump. I found Reno (South Valley Pool Service) years ago on Yelp and wouldn't consider using anyone else. We bought our home in Gilroy in 2012 and it came with, obviously, a pool. We had never owned a home with a pool so we got a recommendation for a service. The guy came, set the pool up and was charging me quite a bit per month for doing nearly nothing. When the coping around the pool needed replacing he gave me an outrageous quote. I was already fed up with him so I went looking for someone and, thankfully, found South Valley Pool Service and Reno. Reno told me that I could do it myself for about 1/10th of the cost I was quoted. I love that about him. He could have cut the price by 10 percent and done the job and I would have been happy. He simply empowered me to do it. It was quite easy. You will not find a more honest, conscientious, friendly, etc, etc, etc....you get the idea. I can't provide a higher recommendation. read more

South Valley Pool Service has been assisting me with my pool maintenance since 2011. They provide chemical maintenance 1x/weekly without ever missing a week unless notifying me in advance due to holiday schedules. Reno helps me fix any problem with pool cleaner, pump or any other pool related issue if he is able to. He advises if he can provide the service, or if I can fix the problem on my own. This is a family business and Reno's daughter now assists him with making his scheduled rounds. They are a good team always providing superior service. South Valley Pool Service was recommended by a neighbor. I requested a quote from Reno to install a new variable speed pump for my pool. I received the quote quickly and decided to go with Reno. The pump was installed and he gave me a lesson in how to program it. Reno even came back a few days later as he had noticed that my original ground line was probably to small.He installed a bigger ground line. I also had him replace a couple of old valves. I was impressed with his professionalism and desire to do a thorough job. I will go back to him if I need any more work on my pool. read more
