My perfect kitchen remodel : )
    Melanie L.

I contacted Johnny for a consultation when we were deciding on a contractor to remodel our kitchen. Johnny was friendly and professional when examining our kitchen area. Oldja Enterprises had a nice selection on cabinets and granite on site so we easily found what we were looking for. Other places we visited lacked the selection of Oldja Enterprises. Once we picked everything out Johnny scheduled a date they would start and the crew arrived on site and completed the job within the said timeline. We were completely happy with the finished result. Every time we have visitors we get compliments on the remodel.

Please do not use this company you will be disappointed. Sales people misleading and do not know how to measure. Kitchen cabinets not installed straight. Cabinets put together wrong so everything out of square. Job never completed. Electrical not up to code. They took 20000 dollars and now have to save so we can actually have a kitchen. Owner does not acknowledge anything is wrong. So if you use them they will not honor any kind of warranty.

The end of the counter. Should hang OVER the wall.

Approximately 8 years ago we used Oldja to replace our counters with granite. The day they arrived with the new counters, I stayed in back of the house in my studio. I kept hearing what sounded like the cutting of the stone, but because I never experienced this before, and wasn't told what to expect, I ignored it. After awhile I finally walked towards the kitchen and saw a plume of dust in the air. I saw two workers holding up the end of the large bar piece, while the other working was cutting it to fit. Apparently most of what they brought was not cut right. Instead of cutting it outside, they cut all of it in our home. I only wish I knew better at the time to stop it right away. Our house and all rooms were covered in granite dust. They also forgot a small section of the counter and had to come back a few days later. We spent all night cleaning the entire house. Unfortunately I did not review them at the time. It is unfair to review them all these years later but because we now have a brand new experience with this company, I thought it would be a good time to mention this. We have a new condo that underwent major renovations. We used a contractor and to our dismay he uses Oldja. We didn't know this until Johnny Oldja came to meet with us regarding the new cabinets and counters. We didn't know who he was until he handed us his card before he left. I then told him of our experience 8 years ago and he assured us that wouldn't happen again. The only piece that has to be cut in the home is the hole for the faucet. The cabinets took an additional 4 weeks then what we were told, but that was ok since the other work, to get ready for the cabinets, was running behind. The day the cabinets came was the same day the worker came to make a template for our quartz counters. We made sure he knew that the size of the one large section of the bar was to be 19 inches, not 17 which was the previous counter. We also told Johnny this when we first met with him. I will say they were fast in getting the counters in. However, the counter was cut at 16 1/4! Even smaller than the original counter. To make matters worse, at the end of the bar it was cut short. See picture. They also had to piece meal a small section ( 18 inches of counter between the fridg and range) together because it came a couple of inches short. So we now had a seam on an small 18" counter where there shouldn't be one. On the 16 1/4 counter there was a seam as well because that was cut wrong. So the 16 1/4 bar counter was cut wrong in length, width and debt and apparently piece mealed together because of the seam. It was as if two of the three stooges measured, came, and put in the counters. We couldn't believe they left it that way when done, and thinking it would be ok. Look at the picture! That's how they left it! When they showed up with the new replacement 19" bar counter, it was 18 1/4" not 19". Unbelievable! At that point we just wanted to be done with it all, so we settled for a smaller counter. When I sent Johnny an email expressing how unhappy we were he said, quote "I'm sorry you are unhappy, I actually agreed to replace your countertop free of charge to make things right". Really, so we should be grateful? As the owner he should have been a bit more diplomatic and professional and simply apologized for the work that was shabbily done. He also wanted to remind me that he didn't charge us to install the hardware on the cabinets even though that was part of the contractors price. We did not have the hardware the day the cabinets came, but had it available the day the counters came, and they installed it at that time. Apparently Johnny wants to charge you if his counter people do something that his cabinet people should have done, even though they are all Oldja employees, not private contractors. I would imagine if this type of thing happens often, they wouldn't still be in business. Maybe we are just unlucky? I would still not recommend this company for ANY service.

Plus the APR was 6.99% with being calculated daily...so much for one year same as cash. I've made mistakes in my 78 years, nothing compared to this. It was my fault for not canceling this outrageous offer within the 3 day period, but with a company's reputation always on the line with each proposal written, this one had Titanic written all over it. Unfortunately, the customer service this time by the manager Richard was extremely disappointing. Richard was abrupt, unhelpful, and made the interaction feel like we were inconveniencing him. We expected to review and finalize our order, but had to ask just to see a printed quote before leaving, which made my husband and I frustrated. Upon leaving, we were so turned off that I decided we weren't going to use them. About a week went by and something just wasn't clicking with this quote. After reviewing more I realized we were given the wrong quote -- it was based on our original, larger cabinet and was priced higher even though we downsized. I called and spoke with Ricardo, the regional manager, who confirmed we were in fact given the wrong quote. Ricardo was professional, responsive, and fixed the quote. He ultimately saved the sale. The cabinet itself is beautiful and the installer did a great job, but the poor customer service made the process frustrating from start to finish. Because of that experience, we would not choose to purchase here again.

Complete Failure, Property Damage, and Total Refusal to Take Responsibility…read more This was one of the worst home renovation experiences I've ever had. I spent over $20,000 with Cabinets To Go, who used Sage Surfaces to coordinate installation and hired Ramos Marble and Granite in Saint Petersburg, FL to do the work. What followed was incompetence, damage, and complete disregard for the customer. The problems started immediately. During the first install, Ramos installed the wrong backsplash (4" instead of the full backsplash I ordered). That mistake required everything to be torn out and redone. During the second installation, I stayed in the room specifically because trust was already gone. That decision proved necessary -- I personally watched the installer drag my stove across my floor instead of lifting it, leaving a long, obvious scrape in my new flooring. When I reported the damage, Ramos' operations manager asked for photos, which I sent immediately. A few hours later, she claimed their installer never moved my stove at all -- a statement that was simply untrue. She wasn't there. I was. I then escalated to Cabinets To Go and Sage Surfaces. Both companies said they were "working on it," then did absolutely nothing. No follow-up. No accountability. No compensation. The estimate to repair the damage is $1,800. This entire experience exposed a system where everyone takes your money, no one takes responsibility, and the customer is left paying for contractor damage. For a national brand and a $20K+ purchase, this level of negligence and indifference is unacceptable. If you're considering Cabinets To Go, Sage Surfaces, or Ramos Marble and Granite, understand this: when something goes wrong, you're on your own. I would strongly advise looking elsewhere.
