All of their sauces are great - Original, Hot Willie's, Vinegar Sauce, and Cranberry Cayenne. I started with the "Ultimate Reuben" and it absolutely lives up to its name! Rich, smoky beef and pork belly pastrami piled high with tangy sauerkraut, melty Swiss, and Russian dressing on perfectly toasted marbled rye. It's the kind of sandwich you plan future visits around! The Burnt Ends were textbook - tender, caramelized, and deeply smoky without being overly sweet. The Tri-Tip Sirloin was equally impressive - juicy, sliced just right, and seasoned to let the beef shine instead of hiding it under sauce. (It was a bit too chewy for my wife but I thought it was perfect!) My wife loved the Que Fries with pulled pork. Crinkle cut fries smothered in house-made cheese sauce, baked beans, green onions, and jalapeños, then topped with that beautifully smoked pork. It's over-the-top in the best possible way, like BBQ nachos leveled up. A big part of what makes Que49 special is the pedigree behind it. Owner Skip Steele is true BBQ royalty! He's the former pitmaster and patriarch of Pappy's Smokehouse, Bogart's Smokehouse, and Dalie's Smokehouse in St. Louis, all consistently ranked among the very best BBQ spots in America.
