When it first open it was good and it has gone down hill. Bacon is consistently old and breakfast is sub par.

talk about a comeback…read more The Southern Table staff and management sought to ensure we had a great experience this time and excelled. Great customer service and I greatly appreciate their accountability/ willingness to make up for our previous visit. Last night we started with the crab croquettes, STELLAR. Absolutely loved and devoured these. The crunch on the croquette was to die for, topped with a refreshing crab salad, perfect. For my entree, I had the lamb rack with house potatoes & broccolini. My boyfriend had the blackened catfish with the grits. Both dishes were phenomenal . To finish up we tried their new chocolate strawberry bread pudding, so rich and delicious. This restaurant is quickly becoming one of my favorite spots in Northern Alabama. Go give them a try! We'll 100% be back.

This seemed to want to be a foodie destination. The half fried chicken included a small drumstick, small wing, piece of breast, and another piece that was unidentifiable but might have been a thigh. It had a spicy sweet sauce covering, which we opted to have on the side. That was a good choice because the hint of Cayenne was still too much for one diner. We asked about the slaw -- whether it was had a cream or vinegar dressing. The server described it as a "creamy vinegar." It made no difference because the dressing was so understated that the side tasted more like chopped cabbage than anything else. Disappointing. Finally, I asked the server whether the grilled green beans were actually that. I was more curious than anything else because grilled green beans would be would take longer to cook. She said yes, they were grilled. I don't think so. They came out fairly quickly and were pretty universally blackened on one side. Once our food was delivered, we never saw our server again until I asked her for the check. So, what I believe was intended to be an elevated dining experience was simply under executed.

Our food was great as well. Zero complaints on what we ate that day. Orange juice was also very good. Most of the wait staff was wearing very tattered clothing and the worst offender was the bus boy. Although he was working his tail off, he looked like he hadn't showed in several days and hadn't washed his clothes in a week. His bus tub was disgusting. As he was cleaning the table beside us, he put the tub in the table top and as I turned my head to look over I lost my appetite seeing the condition of the tub. To know that he put it on top of the table made me even more disgusted. Not only was he bussing tables but he was also taking plates of food to tables. I, personally, would not have accepted food from him because it's very unlikely he washed his hands after cleaning tables off. Our waiter was nice but he looked very sloppy. I realize I'm not at a white table cloth restaurant but at least make sure the serve staff looks presentable. We won't be back.

I was a little hesitant since we were in a new town and everything was packed, but this place totally delivered. The omelet was fluffy and packed with flavor, and the French toast... well, I wasn't expecting it to be deep fried but holy cow it worked. Crispy on the outside, soft and sweet inside, and absolutely addictive. The service was quick and friendly even with the festival crowds, and the vibe inside is fun and casual exactly what you want for breakfast. Portions are generous too, so we left stuffed and happy. If you're in the area, definitely stop by. We even walked over to the Lodge Museum afterward and made a whole morning out of it.

It was a random weekday morning, so it was really quiet. Our waitress was super nice and attentive. It's a casual place, with lots of tv's. I had a hard time choosing between the Yard Work Skillet and the Cornbread Omelet, but I figured where else would I find a cornbread omelet? It was SO yummy. I got the bacon on the side because I don't eat it, but there was a lovely amount of veggies and just the right amount of cheese. The cornbread eggs had such an interesting flavor. I got the cheese grits on the side which were a little spicy and deliciously creamy. My gf got a breakfast plate and thought it was good. The crispy hash cake was ok but a little dense. I ended up eating her biscuit the next day and it was really good.

I had some hours to kill between shifts and wanted a quiet place to do some schoolwork, so I made the choice to drive on over and settle in. This spot has a small gravel parking lot and also a drive through. The inside is cozy but more spacious than I expected -- it was nice! There are lots of small local vendors featured for sale on the shelves and countertops, which gave it a nice community-minded vibe. I was also pleasantly surprised by the relative depth of their menu -- good choices for breakfast or lunch! I was worried a latte would upset my tummy when I got back to work (lactose intolerant gang unite), so I instead chose to order a "Lavish Lemonade," which came with my choice of a few different fruity flavors. I opted for raspberry. I also got a bacon, egg, and cheese bagel for a small meal. Both the girl taking orders and the girl who brought my food out were super pleasant. Everything came out quickly despite the fact that there had been multiple guests in line! The other folks around seemed to know the staff and menu well; I love a place with regulars! Helps me know they're doing something right. :) My bagel sandwich was simple but nice and hot and quite satisfying. The lemonade was SO good -- good enough it'll be hard to order a coffee next time I come back! Unfortunately for me, I took my laptop out only to realize it was on 3%. D'OH. So I had to chow down on my food and then rush home to grab a charger so I could actually work. Oh well. Very much my fault, not theirs, and I'm still very happy to have discovered this place! Looking forward to visiting again in the future!
