First visit to a BBB. Good food, great taste, kind of expensive. .

Old school breakfast burrito, yard work skillet, and French toast.

Food and service were incredible. Niki was so nice and patient when we were deciding on what to eat. Highly recommend coming here if you're visiting

Big Bad Skillet with a stunning large biscuit. Both excellent.

South Pittsburg outside Chattanooga has its destination duo reversed -- come for the food, stay for the skillet tour. That is Big Bad Breakfast, an emerging entry into morning and midday entrees. Adjoining Lodge's colorful campus, the stylish restaurant steals the show. An eclectic menu (cornbread omelette and hash cakes) sells itself. We opted for the breakfast bowl-like Big Bad Skillet. Eggs, potatoes and meats with cheese, served with the best biscuit we've ever had. Cat's head? Try tiger's head. Also excellent: the ham-centric Po' Boy. You'll pay for good food - $44 for three entrees with water before tax and tip -- but worth it. This is a new stop on our regular runs to Nashville. Ambiance: very stylish and modern; bonus points for the cracked egg shell lamps. Service: friendly and professional but overworked. Be ready to order when asked as they might give you a looong time to decide. The food alone is five-star.

So incredibly good! We came to lodge cast iron for their sale and decided to hit up breakfast/lunch before shopping. The staff were wonderful and assured us we would be done without issue of missing our scheduled time for the sale. We sat outside because the weather was amazing. It was nice and quiet considering the sale was a big draw to the area. So I am sure it's more traffic then is usually there. The waitress was amazing. The burger was excellent. My husband had the breakfast platter and loved it. Our kiddo had a cheeseburger and it was pretty big for kids portion. They were super busy but still offered top notch service. Next time we are in town we will be back again for more food.

Yeah, BBB is a chain and you can find them all over, but that doesn't mean they don't serve an excellent breakfast. We stopped at this location on the way to Cleveland, TN. BONUS!!! It's connected to the Lodge museum and factory. Really cool to see. The food was amazing. Both skillets were hot, delicious, and very filling. You won't be hungry after. The pancakes were also very good. Do I wish they offered pure maple syrup? Of course I do *shrug* BONUS pt. 2!!! You can buy the same skillets your meal comes in at the Lodge Store and recreate these dishes at the house. Seriously, if you're a fan of cast iron cooking you will want to stop here and check out the store and museum. Very cool, but I'm also kind of a history nerd. *more shrugging* The service was very good. Fast and friendly. T and I have never had a bad meal or bad service at any BBB. You won't be disappointed.

Enjoyed a tasty lunch and company. Friendly staff and quick service. The menu has a large offering and breakfast/brunch and lunch offerings. The salad was just enough for me.

This restaurant is attached to the Lodge cast iron museum. I had read that there was a breakfast place here but never thought it would be any good, to my surprise it was very good! Our waitress, Madison, was so kind and attentive! She did an amazing job taking care of our table of 9! I had the BLT, phenomenal! One of my kids had a spicy chicken sandwich, he really enjoyed that! My husband had a skillet and he loved that! Overall it was a great experience! I recommend this restaurant even if you're not going to the iron cast museum or the store!

Pretty good food and great service. My parents and I had brunch together and we enjoyed our time here. I got the Screamin' Demon, my mom got the Yard Work skillet, and I think my dad got the Smash burger but I'm not certain on that. I loved what I ordered, the fried chicken piece in my sandwich was huge. It was crispy, I loved the texture and the special sauce in it was good too. I wish I had sauce on the side so I could have more of it. Portion size was good, I had a bunch of fries and leftover sandwich that I couldn't finish. My mom's entree was really good too. It was delicious and very filling. The biscuit was moist and tasty. Her food came in a cute mini skillet on top of a plate, I thought the presentation was so adorable and fitting for my mom. There were these lighting fixtures that were supposed to represent eggs, I found it so cute. Service was friendly. This is a great place to get brunch with the family, we loved it.

The Lodge.. Big Bad Breakfast is located inside!!

I thoroughly enjoyed my Low Country Skillet! It was cooked to perfection. I don't normally eat scrambled eggs from restaurants, because they're usually fake, but BBB uses real eggs & they were delicious! I ordered egg whites & the waitress forgot to modify it. I'm glad she did. My brother in law got the cornbread omelette. I tasted it. It was really savory. The cornbread is not sweet at all. The spinach tastes more like greens. It almost tastes like Thanksgiving. My other friends had the steak and eggs and complained that the steak was not cooked to the temperature that they like them. They were well done & a tad chewy. Pancakes were mid. Service was superb!

After I ate it all lol

Pizza was very good. Ingredients were fresh and place is cute. Friday nights include music upstairs and we were able to enjoy a talented singer while we enjoyed pizza in the downstairs restaurant. Then a neighbor invited us to dinner and took us here, and now we can't stop going here! There are SO many things on their menu that we can't wait to try. So far, we have had the following: Let me start with dessert, the Creme Brulé is to die for, we get it every single time if there's any still available. We buy it when we walk in the door, before dinner, because it might be gone before we're done eating. Yes sir, it's that good. Now on to what we've had so far. The Apple Pecan salad is a must try, just order the dressing on the side and go sparingly so it doesn't overpower the rest of the awesome ingredients like fuji apples, candied pecans and feta cheese (yum, yum, yummy). The first thing I ate there was the Marge-a-rita, made into a calzone, it was heaven. Made with all fresh ingredients and a homemade marinara served on the side. I'm not normally a red sauce / marinara person but I took the rest of it home, I certainly wasn't going to leave it there! My husband had the Deluxe pizza and said it was fantastic. And of course we had the Creme Brulé for dessert. That Friday, we took our friends out for dinner and brought them here. This time we ordered 4 Brulés before heading upstairs for dinner. We were pleasantly surprised that they had live music up there. A singer named Robert Lee played guitar and harmonica and sang everything from country to Pink Floyd to Fleetwood Mac. He had a beautiful voice and was very entertaining. We will definitely be looking to see him play again. This time I had the Apple Pecan salad, of course, and the Salsa Blanc pizza with sweet Italian sausage made into a calzone. This was an excellent pizza EXCEPT they forgot the sausage and there was at least 20 big cloves of roasted garlic packed into that calzone. WAY too much, if you ask me. One of our friends had the Grilled Deluxe Cheese Melt and he said it was amazing. I give this place 5 stars for delicious, fresh ingredients, the servers are extremely friendly and we got our food fairly quickly. The only down sides, in my opinion, is since it's a small venue it can get really loud, and the service on Friday night left us a little disappointed. Again, our order was a little messed up and our server (who I believe was the manager) should stick to managing. He was super nice but he had a lot of irons in the fire and waiting tables is not what he should be doing. Other than that, we WILL be going back because there are so many more items on their menu that I can't wait to try.

Because the last one did not go well either. Even accounting for the slower life we are pursuing in our retirement community of choice, we don't have one hour and four minutes to wait on a pizza. Or 54 minutes to wait on a simple spaghetti and meatballs. Or seven minutes standing at the front desk with no one coming by to see you at the "please wait to be seated" podium. I'm older now, I don't have that kind of time to waste. The food was "OK". The spaghetti and meatballs (substituted sausage, maybe this required a trip to Italy") was lukewarm. It tasted OK. My pizza was basically loose and drippy in the center. Not from cheese, from being poorly cooked. Again, there was nothing special about the taste. Lastly, I had to send the first pizza serving tray back to be cleaned. I don't know if it's too little staff, too little caring, too little organization, too little training. It all adds up to a memorable experience for the wrong reasons. It is a very nice place when it comes to decor and such. Even a nice big lighted Christmas display for folks to use as a photo backdrop. Hopefully the ownership will take this review to heart and not blame it on "being too busy" (that sure wasn't the case" or "fussy clientele". It sure wasn't that either.

The service was excellent, so let's start there. The interior is part of an older building that has been partially renovated. Clean and all the tables get covered with butcher paper and, when combined with crayons, offers fun for everyone. Finally we get to why people go to restaurants / the food. We started with the Calamari, which was perfectly fried, not greasy at all, and served with a tasty marinara, but we would prefer lemon. The white pizza was excellent also, we added some Italian sausage and that put the final touch on the pizza. The Greek salad was fair, but it didn't really roll our socks down, and the spaghetti with meatballs also fell a little short for us - the sauce had great tomato flavour, but it lacked the herbiness (we'd even have been ok with some spicy heat) that you'd expect from a good sauce. They have daily specials that could appeal to some, and they have a rather eclectic menu, right down to fish and chips. We don't go through S. Pittsburgh very often, but we might be back. They also have a location in Chattanooga.
