That might have been the end of the review but they have proven to be an outstanding provider. Eric (one of the proprietors), is very responsive and overall, just a great guy. Recently, I noticed a small leak in our Rollo injector that was squirting onto the grass. The leak was pure chorine and there was a significant dead patch of grass. I sent Eric a text (I believe it was on a weekend) to which he immediately responded, he came out the very next day which was also on the weekend. He found the leak and sent one of his guys out to fix it. Now that would be amazing in and of itself but there's more. He sent a man out from a landscape company to dig out the contaminated soil and re-sod the area where the dead grass was. This level of customer service blows me away. Blue Cube is the real deal, there was no begging and cajoling to do the right thing. They just did it and it was their idea. As for the price, I am amazed they can be so competitive. They are careful about what they take on because they want to be able to provide the best customer service so they have chosen grow their their business responsibly, while some pool services just take on as many pools as they get calls for, Blue Cube limits the clientele to a number that they can manage. I waited to do this review because I wanted to be sure they were the real deal. We are coming up on one year and I am very pleased. If you need pool service, get your name on their waiting list and say your prayers. If you are lucky, you will be pleasantly surprised.

As a first time pool owner I occasionally find my pool isn't behaving according to my understanding of the rules. Maybe that's why I switched my major from Chem E to Mech E in '78? So spoke with the guy at Texsun, followed his instructions; and next test: perfect pool!

2 Stars only because at one point, this was a well run store with helpful employees. I just…read morefinished my last visit to this store. Here is why: For about 3 years I've come here for my pool. Every visit, I buy everything they say I need. Each visit usually comes to $50 to $150 and I never complain or question them. In that time I've also made larger purchases around $1000 for additional equipment like a new Polaris, a new motor for one of my pumps, new housings/fittings/etc. All together is probably safe to say I've spent between $5k and $10k dollars there. So today I replaced the 5th piece that's failed on my Polaris I bought from them. I'm a little annoyed by that b/c it cost $1000 and I feel like being 2 years old, that's just a bit ridiculous. I've also had parts sold to me at a discount because "they were opened by accident" only to find that parts where missing and I was denied a refund... but in general, I was just a little annoyed about the Polaris failures. I went into the store to get my water checked just now. The one manager (female, young, didn't catch her name) was helping some other people and a young guy took my water. I casually mentioned how I've just replaced the 4th or 5th piece on that (I think i said $1400, but it's actually $1000... no matter) Polaris, and how crazy that seems. I didn't say it aggressively. I just sorta mentioned it while the guy was testing my water. Anyway, the girl was not having it. She was sure I only paid $800 (as if that makes it somehow ok) and insisted on trying to argue about it in front of the whole store, even going so far as to stop helping customers and go print my old receipt. Okay, so it ended up being $1000 and not $1400. Still... my point was that it's not a great product if I have to spend $300 over the next 2 years repairing it (and thats just parts. if i paid labor for someone else to do it, who knows how much it would be). As I left, she came storming out of the store and began to berate me and my wife for our unacceptable behavior. I remained totally calm. Her voice shook and her eyes became bloodshot as her blood pressure elevated and she assured me of how she was an excellent manager and she just wasn't having that in her store. I calmly told her that I would have no problem apologizing if I made her feel disrespected, and I even did apologize. I then told her that perhaps a better manager might approach a long time customer with a different tact and the benefit of the doubt before talking down to us like we are children. None the less, she assured me she wasn't going to put up with my behavior (i guess of expecting value out of a product and just idly mentioning it calmly in conversation) before exclaiming "That's just the way it is!" and walking off. I'm now looking for somewhere else. Go here if you want, I wouldn't.

I will update again if anything ever gets finished. I bought a lovely swim spa from Spas Unlimited a couple of years ago. We have enjoyed the spa. Noticed a few issues this spring. Reached out to Esmeralda in service. Paid a Couple hundred dollar service fee. Waited over a month for a Technician to visit. He spend about 10 mins with my spa. Enough to remove filters and the top of spa. He stated he needed a compressor to blow the lines, and the spa jets seemed glued on and were not popping off easily. He left. I truly thought he was either going to get a compressor or have lunch. He never returned. I waited another week to call Esmeralda who stated that they were "waiting to see how the owner wanted to proceed with the repair". I haven't heard back in three weeks. The request for service started back in Spring. It is now almost August. Unsure of what I paid $$ for service call. Absolutely nothing was done. I've been more than patient.

That's when I met Sam--he really took the time to make sure I understood exactly what to do. He also told me to call or text anytime I had questions, and he always got back to me quickly. A couple of months in, my pool heater started shutting off after just 7-8 minutes of runtime without ever reaching the set temperature. That's when I met Mike. He could have easily taken advantage of me as a new owner and recommended an expensive part, but instead, he fixed it perfectly just by cleaning the inside. It's been working flawlessly ever since. Recently, I hired them for full-time pool service, and the care and attention to detail they put into every visit far exceed my expectations. I've only ever dealt with Mike and Sam--the trust I've built with them and the consistently perfect work they've done mean I have no interest in trying any other company. While I've worked with two other pool companies in the past, I found their service and cleaning results to be somewhat mediocre, which is why I'll be staying with PoolWerx.

There are many great aspects to this project, and here are a few things that we value the most. Jim has extremely strong knowledge about engineering-side pool construction. From pool drainage systems, in-floor cleaning systems, flow control systems, all the way to wireless app control. As first-time pool owners, we are lucky to have Jim explain everything about the pool to us multiple times throughout the process. He also provided the designs and timelines that fit perfectly to our budget and expectations. As we iterated 10+ times on the design over a short timeframe, Jim ensured a well-communicated, smooth and timely building process, his design is truly beautiful, even more impressive considering his deep engineering knowledge. We had a tropical storm at the beginning of the project, followed by extremely hot weather for a month. Jim definitely put his best effort on this pool, he checked in almost everyday during construction, gave multiple updates throughout the day at important steps. He went above and beyond with our drainage and built an extra thick pad for the pool equipment. Jim didn't sacrifice anything for the best quality of the pool that Pools Plus can offer. Another big thumbs-up to most of Jim's partners: these sub-contractors are awesome! They worked hard and fast while minimizing expected messes; Jim is frequently on-site QC-ing nearly every aspect of the build, and any requests/corrections are promptly actioned. We owe our backyard haven to Jim's experienced design, aesthetic, and practical recommendations - he's a rare breed of expert whose professionalism is apparent from his communication, knowledge, accountability, and high standards.

Jim is very knowledgeable on pool design and code requirements and makes sure he exceeds safety and design standards. We use the pool almost every day and have invited many friends over to enjoy it with us. They all say how amazing it is. We have a resort in our backyard and Pools Plus made it possible. I thoroughly enjoyed working with Jim and Chad. If I ever need to build another pool in the Houston area, Pools Plus will be my first call.
