It's rare that you come across standout talent and service like CJ's Yardworks. My wife and I spent months searching for a landscape company who could not only meet, but exceed our expectations. We were introduced to CJ's Yardworks by word-of-mouth. They came highly recommended. We met with Chris, the owner, and he was very intuitive and listened to what we had envisioned. This was very different from other consultations where the other companies tried to upsell us without taking our vision into consideration. There was something different about Chris. Chris took his years of experience and our vision and created a masterpiece. He was extremely passionate about helping us achieve our goals, not just his. He quickly conveyed his vision of adding depth and layering to create a dynamic environment that would allow our backyard to feel like a resort. Jen was our direct point of contact during the installation. She was exceptional. Jen clearly communicated each step within the installation process. She told us when the crew would be at the house, what they were going to accomplish that day, and what decisions needed to be made. You cannot find customer service like this anywhere else......Trust me!! The installation crew was extremely professional. They worked hard and cleaned up everything at the end of the day. They were extremely flexible with all of our one-off requests. They power sprayed everything at the completion of the project. I felt like they were actually landscaping their own yard. CJ's Yardworks far exceeded my expectations. I have a large, odd shaped yard that I needed design assistance on and Chris was very knowledgeable and helpful. He definitely seemed to care about getting me set up with what I wanted and gave several pricing options. After we agreed upon a scope of work and price, they really went above and beyond in completing the work. They completed the considerable amount of work in 5 consecutive days, with one day being in the 40's and lightly raining. I've dealt with others who show up some days but not others and it is extremely frustrating when a project can never be finished. Communication with Jen at their office was consistent and reliable, which means alot when you are balancing your work schedule and want to be around for certain portions of the yard work. The foreman, Byron, was very friendly and helpful. They even gave me some extra material (boulders) at no charge when Byron felt that a small amount more than was in the proposal would be necessary to "do it right". They also had an irrigation specialist, Bob, who was on hand often, so I feel that they staffed the job in more ways than one with qualified personnel. I could rattle off a few other things they did for me, such as follow up service, etc... but the overall message that I want to convey to anyone out there looking at getting yard work such as mine done (trees of several types/sizes, shrubs, beds, boulders, a fruit tree area per my request...) that you are in good hands working with CJ's Yardworks. Our pool builder referred us to CJ's Landscaping after the completion of the pool. My husband and I had a wonderful experience working with Chris and Jen! From the initial visit to our home where he explained his concept, to the meeting at the nursery to discuss the plants he was proposing, Chris was very patient and knowledgeable. He offered several options for ground cover, as well as trees and shrubs to provide privacy for our backyard. Once the job began, they worked efficiently and kept the area tidy at the end of each day. The supervisor was there daily and checked in with us, answering any questions we had. They finished a day ahead of schedule! Once the job was complete, Chris came and walked through and promptly completed some minor changes and tweaking of the backyard lighting. We are thrilled with the final result in our new backyard oasis! The Mediterranean concept that Chris sketched for us has given us the backyard we dreamt of. We recently installed a pool and the pool company recommended Chris at CJs. In the past we have used people who just didn't live up to our expectations. Chris came out and met with us. He really listened to what we want to see to complete our back yard landscaping. We then met with him at the nursery in Katy where he should us his design in color. The design exactly incorporated our request for more desert-like plants instead of the traditional palms. We walked around the nursery picking out those things we liked and which types of plants we absolutely did not want to see. Just before install we made some last minute changes like adding lighting and flagstone instead of a deck. The flagstone was great. Throughout the process we cooresponded with Jen who responded timely and helped us complete the package. They don't get paid until the work is done, which is a nice change of pace. I would very much recommend CJ'S Yardworks to everyone that I know. It was a very positive experience working with this company and crew! From the design phase to the completed product. Everyone from the owner Chris, the project manager Chris, support staff Jen to the whole crew involved. Very professional, polite and great at what they do! My project turned out even more beautiful than I could have ever dreamed. They did a total front yard landscaping make-over. This was a plant and irrigation design and install project by CJ's Yardworks for us, and it was a rather large project. Our beds turned out absolutely amazing!
