She does not honor quotes! This was a plain quote, not a "prices start at" or "prices range". Two people (myself and a family member that has been a long-time client and referred me here-) witnessed the quote. I specifically asked for a length past my shoulders to mid back, since my own hair is at shoulder. Often times kinky twists are done shorter, so I requested longer before showing up. I arrive at the appointment and patiently wait since someone else was finishing up and then it's my turn. She asks me again how long I wanted my hair. Mind you we discussed this ahead of time when booking the appointment, and when I said "mid-back", she raises the price by $50. That's a big jump. When I explained that she gave me a different price she swore up and down that both I and my family member said "shoulder length". I was willing to negotiate and pay a little more but she stubbornly refused to budge and I will not beg someone to give them my money. You would think that as a referral, you would want to build a positive rapport. I have gone to other braiders and they have kindly negotiated and let me know the price would be different next time. This is fine, but it isn't cool to essentially say two people are lying and lose a client that would have become a regular. I'd rather spend the money elsewhere and I will. Not to mention that it would be good practice to clean and sanitize between clients. A broom doesn't sweep away germs on the chair and combs. read more

We were up in the East Bay visiting family and my daughter decided to get her hair braided. I did a search on Yelp and found Olga! Thank you yelpers! I texted Olga to schedule the appointment and she responded quickly! I sent her a picture of what my daughter wanted and she replied with a quote (very reasonable)! Im only giving her two stars because she is very sweet and accomadating. However my braids started sliding out after literally 3 days. I took them out at the end of the week. A waist of $350 dollars and I left a $50 tip. My hair is short, so I got a consult before hand to make sure she could braid it and she said yes. On top of that, my entire hair strand stuck out if the braid after it was gripped and they cut it off. This literally took away the little length that I had. I would not recommend. read more

Olga is definitely my go to braider for all of my hair needs. I first started going to Olga about a year ago. I wanted corn row tree braids which turned out Amazing!!! She is super duper fast, neat and reasonably priced. She has done my kids hair too. My son is 6 and hates anyone touching his hair, but Olga is patient and gentle. She goes out of her way to make sure he is comfortable. The shop is a neat, comfortable, and intimate enviornment. There is plenty of free parking and food restaurants so its conveniently located. Ended up taking my braids down after only 3 weeks because they were falling out taking my shoulder length hair with them. My edges are still recovering. I went to get my hair done yesterday , I have blue hair and I really loved my hair color and I wanted it to pop out threw the braids I needed braid extensions so I was concerned with the color I asked for advice and if she carried colors and she said yes some but not blue but she also suggested that I just use blue with the black because " it's would pop and look like blue highlights with the black " I left and I didn't really look at them because it got dark so I thought I'd wait unti tnrw to see more of the color an the actual light this morning I woke up and I saw that basically all my hair was black I called and she said yes come and I get there and she starts yelling at me going crazy horriable very desrespectful women please don't ever come here I don't even want to give her a star Olga was very horriable person in general just to have treated me like that ...(picture caption)Here she's taking out my hair after she screamed like a manic she pulled basically alll of my hair out and she didn't refund me all my money worst experience I felt like she was racist horriable experience . This is a great place to go for fast African hair braiding. My previous experiences with hair braiding have been alright, albeit two major annoyances: usually the hair stylist does not start on time, and nearly all of the appointments take anywhere from 6 to 8 hours. At Olga's hair salon, however, it was completely different. I had an appointment for single box braids at 9 in the morning, and sure enough, she was ready for me at 9 AM. We started promptly, and by 12:45 she was done braiding and was just trimming and styling the ends. In total, it took me 4 hours - I was quite pleased. New to the Bay area, I was looking for a cheaper, yet good-quality hair salon to go to for African braids; and my Aunt recommended me to Olga. Olga was timely, professional, and fast, and I've been receiving compliments on my hair since then. I definitely don't regret it! read more

So I let her do my hair and it didn't end up how I want it asked very politely and she starts yelling at me almost about to hit me . Yes they do beautiful braids but the woman who braided my hair (NOT Olga) could really learn a thing or two about customer service. I am a 50 something year old woman who was treated like I was going to "braid and dash." There are signs posted throughout the shop to pay the braider before they braid your hair which leaves no room for the consumer to discuss any faulty styles and is not applied to every customer -- at least it wasn't the day I was there. When I asked if it had ever happened at their shop, they informed me that it had not but they had "heard" of it happening at other shops. Next, I asked for a specific style, even brought the picture and then proceeded to spend the next 10 minutes listening to the woman tell me why she couldn't braid my hair in the style I requested. After much explaining and convincing her to blow out my hair, it was done in a similar style to the one requested. Also, my braider spent much of our time together denigrating African Americans which I found rude and extremely insulting. My style looked good when I finally got out the chair so I tipped her and said my goodbyes. I am currently looking for a new braid shop. I'll never go back there again unless I am desperate, no matter how good the braids look. read more
