It was a rainy Sunday afternoon, and this place was surprisingly empty. They have 16 lanes for Candlepin bowling, and 11 (minus the two that were covered?) pool tables. We were charged $12 per hour for the 2 hours of billiards played, so with the $5 coupon I had printed from their website it was $8 apiece for the two of us.

I have to give Olindys 5 stars for putting up with my friends. I recently turned older (unfortunately) and thought it would be grand to go bowling for my birthday. I figured I'm 26 years old how many of my adult friends are going to want to go bowling on a Saturday night in December? Answer to this question is pretty much all of them. I thought it would be like 8 of us going bowling and the grand total was 23. I called in advance and booked 5 lanes and when we got there it was a pretty smooth operation. We got pretty loud due to the beer and wine mentioned in the first review, but they didn't seem to mind. Everyone had a fantastic time and I might do it again next year! It cost a little over $200 for 23 people to play 2 strings and rent shoes.

Just a great classic fun night for the family. Clean facility, accommodating staff. What's better than candle pin bowling in MA?

Two of my greatest pleasures in life are carpeted walls, closely followed by candlepin bowling, so Olindy's did not disappoint on either front.

This place should be great, but the tables are in disrepair…read more The vibe fine - charming almost. Not much to it beyond pool and that's all it needs to be. The owner is either grumpy or friendly, depends on his mood or whether it not he knows you. Hard to blame him, as too many people do stupid things in there (don't put your drink near the table!) But what makes this place so poor is the table quality. It could be great. It should be great. He goes through the work to clean the felt every night, but can't bother to re-felt or re-level the tables? Every rail is dead, the felt is warn and cheap cloth to begin with, none of the tables are level, and most of the pockets are busted or taped together. Experienced players will find these tables are unplayable. If you're used to running racks in 2-3 turns, prepare to do it in 4-5 instead. Good luck shaping your shots when the bounce off the rail is a guess. Good luck with speed control when the ball dies instantly when it touches the rail. It's sad - because this place should be great. They have 5 8-ball tables and 3 3 cushion tables. The 3 cushion tables are rarely used. If he swapped one or two of those out for 8 ball, he'd make more money. Then use that money to level the tables, re-felt and get new rails. Seriously, a bit of re-investment into this place would do wonders for business. No serious pool player can go there now, you're better off at Amazin in Malden. Take care of the tables just a bit and you'd end up with more serious players tehre more regularly. not just more business, but better business, cuz the better players won't be ruining the tables. Right now it's a bad spiral, the only players that come are those that don't know any better, and they're exactly the type to spill drinks on the felt and generally perpetuate the owner's grumpy mood. He can be nice too - just don't be an idiot!

That still doesn't explain the full $4 difference--shouldn't it be $20, not $22? He added another $2 after the card fee, which makes no sense. It was my first time, so I didn't know whether or not we were supposed to press the timer--but I did. I admitted it was my mistake, but the owner kept making a big deal about it instead of simply explaining the policy. Terrible customer service. Won't be coming back.

Loved all the games on the tables to play while waiting for our ping pong table to be ready. We ordered drinks at the bar and I loved my Curious George! So good! We got some snacks at the ping pong table and they were good too. The fries were cooked perfectly but the pepper ketchup wasn't my favorite. We ended up ordering 2 fries so I must not have minded the ketchup too much. We got the hop pop chicken tenders and found them to be ok. They were a bit overcooked, so they probably would be better less crisped. The place is huge! The employees were continually walking around scooping up all the ping pong palls and making sure everyone was taken care of. I love the net tool they had for collecting the balls. My niece loved the ping pong ball bath. She jumped in it about a dozen times. I wish we had something like this near me, it was great family fun and could turn into adult fun in the evening with lots of amazing drinks.

Today really sealed it for me. We came to celebrate my son's 10th birthday, and when we arrived, the internet was down so it was cash only--but there was no sign on the outside door. You don't find out until after you walk in, which already starts the experience off wrong. The manager working tonight (glasses, thinning blonde/gray hair) was incredibly rude and condescending. Zero customer service skills and no empathy whatsoever. He didn't seem to care that multiple machines were broken or malfunctioning: * Air hockey had no airflow and didn't keep score * Connect Four Hoops (red side) was playing by itself * Motorcycle games charged but wouldn't start * Basketball games were missing balls * Several other machines weren't working properly Instead of addressing any of this, he was selectively handing out game cards to other customers while repeatedly ignoring my son--the birthday boy--and our family. While we were waiting for food, he came over and asked whose birthday it was, as if I hadn't already told him earlier. Then he made a sarcastic comment saying, "clearly from the sign on the door." Completely unnecessary and unprofessional. There are way too many better options out there to spend this kind of money and be treated this way. I won't be coming back. 0/10 experience.

Bar seating was filled with most of the adjacent tables-for-two taken. We were more interested in a booth. Ample comfortable booth seating past the bar. Our waitress was exceptional. We both ordered the (hard) Cider-served in a tall pint glass. We started with a basket of homemade chips. We both enjoyed our entrees (and took some of the steak tips home.) These are healthy-sized portions. The Cider was memorable. Chocolate cake for dessert was delicious (and more than two of us could finish.) Prices here are very reasonable. Ample free parking in front of the restaurant. We were the only people seated in a booth (we arrived at 5 pm) and with a full bar we could not hear any voices coming from the bar. I think we were the only non-regulars; I plan to become one!
