Just finished lunch here at the bar at Kings. We were walking around in the area having checked out Snowport and then came in here to warm up after being in the cold outside. Hosts were friendly and we looked around the bowling and pool area and games arcade. Looks fun and a few people playing. We decided to eat here before heading over to the movie theater next door at Alamo. Sat at the bar - the bartender Kyle was very nice. Very friendly and great service. I ordered my usual water with lemon. For food I ordered the California wrap and was very pleasantly surprised at how good it was with the warm falafel and the crunchy veggies- cucumbers and avocado aioli. Yummy! The waffle fries were really good too crunchy crispy on the outside soft on inside very flavorful seasoning. Yummy! Hubs got the pretzel and thought it was ok. It was huge and he finished the whole thing! I only ate half of my wrap as I wasn't super hungry having already eaten a small gumbo soup and half a Nutella strawberry banana waffle at the Snowport. My company had rented out the back room where there was a private set of bowling lanes in addition to three pool tables that were curtained off from the rest of the bowling alley. Overall, it was a nice evening, which there was a small buffet in addition to ordering food and cocktails off of the menu from the servers that were making the rounds. The layout of Kings, located on the second floor via an escalator, is pretty cool, with a partitioned walkway that separates from the main bar area, past the initial front counter, before making your way to the main counter where you can rent bowling shoes if you're looking to bowl a couple of games with you buddies. To the left of the main bowling alley lies the arcade room area where they had some solid selections of driving and shooting arcade games, prize-based pick-up machines, interactive fishing games, basketball shooting, and skee-ball lanes. Past that area is the private room that can be curtained off and was for our party. From the private room, there is a walkway where you can hang your coat, access the bathrooms, and access the arcade area from the backside. For the buffet, they had steak tips, gluten-free cheesy mac with gluten-free penne, creamy mushroom raviolis, salad, and bread. For my money, the mushroom raviolis were wicked good. Cocktails-wise, I settled on a Purple Stone with empress gin, lemon, lime orgeat, and grapefruit soda, which was quite good. I probably would have ventured more into the menu for drinks and food if I saw the servers more. That was tough to flag one of them in the darkened but neon glow of the private area as they were wearing black and they were usually bouncing between other people at my company that were also giving orders. I could have went to the bar, but we had a company tab open so was trying to go with that. Overall, I enjoyed my time there in the Seaport District. It's a good spot to go to on a Friday night for sure, even though, it was Tuesday night for us. read more

Was in seaport area walking around and went into Kings for a drink. Never been to one so i didn't even know it was a bowling alley too! We sat at bar facing bowlers; ordered couple of drinks and apps. I was happy to see that menu had some mocktails, i ordered one and really liked it. My husband got a beer. We ordered wings and a shrimp dish. They were both good but very small. Was surprised small wing order came with just 5, and odd number to share for 2 people. Just walked in after coming to Snowport. The place wasn't packed but they said we could get one lane if we were quick and finished before a big event showed up in an hour. We bowled a couple of games quickly. Service kept checking on us , which was good even if we didn't order anything. You paid with your waiter at the end of your session which was weird. I had a fun time at kings. We were able to walk right in and a lane was available on a Friday night for some bowling. I went with one other person and the two of us bowled for the full hour slot. We each ordered drinks which were delivered right to our lane so that helped space things out. The drinks could have been better but the experience was very nice over all. We were lucky that not a lot of people were there on Sunday and we didn't have to wait for a bowling lane and a pool table (I had to wait for an hour last time I came). Last time I came here the food was decent and not worth the price in my opinion, but honestly you're just paying for the vibes! Came here for bowling on a Sunday afternoon and we were lucky that there was a free lane for us without having a reservation. The space was larger than I expected and was pretty full with many people at different lanes and at the pool tables so I'd call ahead just in case if you're planning on going on a weekend in general. Our service was pretty friendly and attentive despite us only getting water which was nice. I've gone to multiple Kings in the past month by coincidence and this is 3/3 for experiencing a technical difficulty where our lane stopped working randomly at some point and we had to request technical support. Most of the time the lane just stops in the middle of resetting pins for some reason, but this time we did see our screens just randomly shut down so we had to wait for the system to reboot for our lane and the one next to us. Very strange. This is a pretty decent spot for bowling I'd say, but I wouldn't expect it to go perfectly as I've experienced so many issues with their system across various locations. I've been to Kings a few times now, first for bowling and then today for darts. Bowling: I came with a group of new friends. The first thing I noticed was that the lanes were unusually thin. I'm totally not a pro bowler or anything, but is was noticeable that the lanes themselves were just skinny, so it felt like you had to be a bit more accurate with your throw. I wish there were a bit more variety in the available ball weights, as I normally bowl with a 14 lb ball but 13 lb was the heaviest available. In any case, there were fun on-screen animations and a nice food & drink bar with reasonable prices (especially for Seaport.). Weird quirk: We went through a whole game and then a new person showed up, so we added them as a player. It made them bowl ten straight frames to "catch up" with the rest of us, which was weird. This actually happened twice and felt like a bug in the software. Darts: I had friends visiting from DC today and we went to Flight Club to play darts. I had been there once before for drinks, and it was really fun playing darts! There were five different darts games available, all of which had simple on-screen instructions. The game takes a photo of you for your profile and does great instant replays. The snakes and ladders game is especially fun! I thought the darts games were well thought-out, and we had a blast. My boyfriend and I spontaneously decided to stop in here after Valentine's Day dinner to play arcade games and drink. It was busy but not overwhelming. For $20, we got unlimited arcade came play to do everything from playing darts to Buck Hunter to that basketball game that I'm always terrible at--intoxicated or sober. Before we started playing, we grabbed drinks at the bar. I had the Pop Rocks Martini, which has the childhood candy on the rim. It was the flavor of fun and perfect for an arcade. This is a story about a near-fiasco of a birthday party, about a cold reception, about empathy, and ultimately, about redemption and a long-lasting favorable impression. TL;DR: I would trust the Seaport Kings D&E team for my next Big Night Out. To celebrate her 16th birthday, my daughter wanted to take her friends bowling in prom dresses. For weeks, she had been hitting up thrift stores and managed to find six or seven evening gowns totaling about 40 bucks. One week before the event, I called Kings to ask about reservations. They said they don't take them unless the party is huge, but that if I arrived around 6pm on a Saturday night, we should have no problem getting a lane. It was a freezing cold night in December when these six gorgeous young ladies showed up (coatless, of course) to get their bowl on. That's when the fiasco hit us: a huge party had arrived and the waiting list for a lane was now THREE HOURS LONG. With Kings switching to 21+ at 9pm, this meant the sweet sixteen party was over before it even started. There we were, six girls who were simultaneously overdressed and underdressed for roaming around the Seaport on a frigid winter evening. I begged, I pleaded with the staff at the cash register, but they said there was nothing they can do except offer us an arcade voucher while we waited. The girls headed for the air hockey table while I scrambled. Working with my spouse at home, we called every bowling alley in Boston Metro, but all had the same answer: long waits, no reservations, and certainly no guarantees at this eleventh hour. After about 45 minutes of crossing out all the options, I was ready to give up. It was at this moment that one of the waitstaff noticed me in my state of high anxiety (and did I mention wearing a tuxedo?) and said, "Hey buddy, you OK?" I said, "Well, no, actually," and quickly explained the situation. He said, "Listen, there's a manager here, kinda short woman with glasses, you find her and tell her what you told me." I said thanks and started looking around, but still, I didn't have much hope. I mean, what was she going to do that the staff at the register weren't? After 15 minutes of not finding her, I decided to go with Plan Z, which was just to go to any nearby restaurant and blow a few hundred bucks on dinner. Not very exciting for a 16th birthday and I was sure my daughter and her friends would be disappointed (though honestly, they were all so appreciative and understanding through all of this). I was just about to go when a petite, bespectacled manager--her name was Terri--approached me. "I heard you've got a 16 year old girl celebrating her birthday," she said. "I've got a daughter that age, too, and I'm going to help you out." Terri put us next in line for a lane! So what happened here? Sergio, the empathetic waiter who saw me in distress, went out of his way to follow up on his advice to me, got a hold of the manager, and even explained the whole situation to her. Sergio hooked us up for the rest of the night, treating the girls like royalty. "Ginger ales? How 'bout virgin mojitos!" As their time on the lane was running out, he gave them a free extension. He even brought a bowling pin for them all to sign with a Sharpie for my daughter to keep as a memento. Heck, Sergio even bought me a beer! Together, Sergio and Terri saved this father from an epic calamity and ensured that my daughter will forever remember the AMAZING time she and her friends had at Kings Bowl on her sixteenth birthday. Kings Bowl is lucky to have them... and should pay them what they deserve! My advice to Yelp readers who deigned to get this far: (1) Don't risk all of your party's expectations on a location that doesn't take reservations--that was my biggest mistake, and I am forever grateful to Sergio and Terri for saving me from myself. And... (2) Wear a tux or a prom dress the next time you go out. People notice you. (3) Always carry a $100 bill in your wallet and save it for those unfortunately rare occasions when a stranger shows you extraordinary kindness. read more

I've been here both time at the exact start time of the game and there was no line to get in. Service was fast and the space is large enough to easily fit over 50 people. 2. Loud and Energetic. Everyone here is invested in the match and you'll find yourself hugging and cheering with new friends. The energy level is through the roof and is perfect setting for you to get blasted at. 3. Fast and reliable drinks. You want somewhere that's packed and will still take care of you and your friends in a timely fashion. Upon entering Kings from the bright Seaport, people commented that it felt like we were in a casino. Where are we? What time is it? The vibe inside is fun, with colorful lights and up-beat music. We nibbled on a cheese & fruit plate with crackers as we ordered our first round from our super helpful server. A pitcher of Bull & Bear cocktail which has Red Bull, some kind of liquor, and GUMMY BEARS was brought to our lanes. These alcohol-soaked gummies are superstars. Other stand-out drinks were the Pop Rocks Martini which was strawberry lemon deliciousness with a poppy surprise on the rim. Our server also recommended the seasonal rose sangria which was bright, bubbly, and refreshing, served with a strawberry garnish. Let's be real. We were mostly just drinking with the occasional bowling, but we still needed some good food to fuel our muscles! We got spicy cauliflower, dumplings, pulled pork sliders, coconut shrimp, and a few different pizzas. For dessert, we got trays of S'mores brownies and Reese's truffles with sliced strawberries and whipped cream. The food all tasted good, and when a tray was empty, the servers would order another one for us (although these often took a while to come out). Kings' lane food is pretty solid, but a number of us complained that our stomachs didn't feel great for the rest of the night. So I'd recommend starting slow and seeing how you feel instead of just devouring it all immediately (like we did). Oh yea and we also bowled. It was your traditional bowling format (no New England candlepin here). I always have trouble selecting the best ball weight for me, but I wasn't really in it to win anyway. The cartoons/videos on the screens after each frame were pretty entertaining. And it's nice that the system tallies up your score, so you don't have to do any of the math yourself! Overall this is a fun team activity for rainy days. The drinks are great, the service is super helpful, and the food is tasty albeit a bit dangerous. And there's the option to get in some physical activity by bowling between sips & bites. read more

Kings is one of my favorite hang out spots in Boston. I've been going since they had an open mic night back in 2007-2009 in the Back Bay location (not sure if they still do that). More recently, I've been to the Dedham and Seaport locations to go bowling and watch the Super Bowl. I like how you can call and make a reservation, whereas a lot of places these days prefer that you do it online. Waitstaff is friendly and the beer prices are reasonable. It gives sports bar/trendy lounge type vibes. A great spot to host an bday party or fun date night. Definitely recommend! read more
