Don't judge by the exterior! Very friendly and helpful staff. My husband could not stop talking about his fajita burrito. The chicken flautas were delicious. The cook custom made the sauce for me when I asked for a little heat by adding a little habanero. Our waiter explained that they make frequent trips to Mexico for spices so the quality of their food is high. We will be back. read more

I loved this place. We went here with family who live in the area and were very happy with what we got. Don't know what that other person was complaining about with everything being charged extra- it says right on the menu when something comes with rice and beans. Got the homemade tamales because really there's nothing better in life than a fresh tamale. It came with rice and beans. Everything was great. Kids' nachos are a huge plate of them, but the kid's taco comes with just one taco so be aware. Olie was a private chef for 20 years and now runs her own place in her chefs whites. We will be returning every chance we get. read more

This place is ridiculous. We waited 2 hours for a table for the (owners son) Oli's son to tell us that we were unable to have our table because they double booked. We tried to ask for a solution to the problem because how were we supposed to know other people had a reservation. If you said our table was ready and we headed over to be seated, then you say oh actually we don't have a table for you. Again not our problem by any means, but when asked what is the next available table. The owners son (Oli's son) as he was proud to say said maybe you should go somewhere else. I've been a lot of places but hospitality wise this is the rudest place I've ever been or the worst I've ever been treated. The reviews from people say the food was good, but customer service goes a long way and this was the worst. Not even like can you wait for a little bit... and we will figure it out. We happened upon this place by accident and am so happy we did. The food is incredible and everyone is so nice!!! The prices are very reasonable !!! Our bill was $15. I had a grilled chicken fajita salad that was the best ever with homemade cilantro dressing! My husband had the chimichanga and said its the best he's ever had!!! As for the bad review, I really don't care about free chips and salsa ...trust me the entrees here are worth the swap!!! P/S. It's not just Mexican food they have a variety! read more

What a find!! I would never have stopped by if a friend hadn't recommended it. It is a small roadside restaurant next to a Shell gas station. It is a wonderful restaurant. While it serves primarily Mexican food it does have other items on the menu. The food is incredibly good, flavorful and beautifully served. We were a table of 6 so got to see the different plates come out and hear how happy everyone was with their food. They are coming out soon with a new menu so we are looking forward to going back to see the new selections. Their breakfasts also get rave reviews. They do charge for their chips and salsa. This is the best Mexican cuisine we have ever had! After a day of exploring Perdenales Falls, we were looking for a good place close by. Our waiter, Jimmy, gave excellent suggestions and steered us to their guacamole appetizer and entree of Street Tacos (Carnitas). They were absolutely fantastically seasoned, as was everything else--not too salty--thank-you! The top shelf margarita was the bomb. An excellent choice. Great food, great service. Something's changed. Lunch today was not what we remembered or expected. Chips were old and the salsa was inedible. Tasted and looked like spaghetti sauce! My husband's Carne Asada was camouflaged sliced roast beef. The Elvis theme decor is missing, and the rock music was way too loud. read more

Table of 6 and all entrees were great, not what you would expect from a small place, all alone like this. Highlights were avacado enchiladas, carnita tacos and my favorite, the steak chimichanga. After reading the reviews I was excited to try this place. We started with the medium heat salsa and it was more like a mild pasta sauce. I ordered the chile relleno and waiter apologized and said they were out. I ordered the chicken tamales and he came back and apologized profusely and let me know they were out of them as well. The waiter suggested I try the pork tamales as he said they are really good. I agreed and we waited 10-15 minutes and then he said they only have one so could he give me beef instead. The food was mediocre at best and it is definitely authentic tex mex. I will not be returning I'll stick with Santa Catarina in Lakeway or Polvos in Austin for real authentic Mexican food. read more

Waited 20 minutes for a booth and finally hit the road. Unless you are stranded in Round Mountain or have a limitless amount of time--go elsewhere! Yummy...great salsa served warm with warm freshly made crispy tortilla chips. I had my usual bean and cheese chalupa with guac and a cheese enchilada (alacart) and was delighted to find white cheese in the enchilada and the sauce on it was creamed with a little meat. Food was ok! Was to expensive. They change for chips and salsa. They charge for almost every little thing. I asked for jalapeños and was charge 75cents. Rice and beans doesn't come with your plate... Really delicious "find" on a recent weekend trip to Marble Falls. Excellent, fresh, well seasoned, beautifully plated Mexican food. Their menu is extensive and has lots of vegetarian dishes...a rarity for our vegetarian guests among us. The torta was authentic and huge. A chili relleno was an excellent egg battered, fried delight. Fajitas were some of the best ever eaten...both the ones in carne quisada and the portobello ones. Homemade tortillas were wonderful as well. This spot will be our go-to on every visit to this area! read more

This is a place we really wanted to like -- anybody going for their dream, we're a big fan. Outside is a giant metal mariachi figure but at noon on a Saturday inside we were greeted by LOUD rock music & rock posters. Said something and the music got louder; mgr. said he couldn't fix the music because the owner was using her phone. Mgr. said they didn't want to play Mex. music (soothing guitar would have been welcome) because they'd have the "stigma of people expecting stuff for free." Maybe replace the mariachi figure with a rock singer so there's fair warning? Prices were high for the portion sizes, and everything felt like they were skimping -- if you're going to charge $14 for a shrimp salad with 5 smallish shrimp and not much lettuce (and lettuce is cheap), at least be generous with paper napkins & toothpicks. They appear to think they're competing with Austin without providing upscale Austin ambience or quality or amenities. Décor except for a few cheap Mexican & rock elements has been the same for 20 yrs. This is only the 2nd Horseshoe Bay review in the year they said Oli's has been open, and HSB has a population of 8,000. Word-of-mouth from neighbors: Locals are avoiding it for the same reason we are: Too expensive for what you get & too-loud garish music. While we were there other people complained to the kitchen about something and we could hear the cook's loud defensive voice on the other side of the restaurant. Not the fine dining experience you'd expect for a $14 lunch entree. One star for pretty presentation of food and the guacamole (served with a single 1/2" x 3" tortilla chip) was fresh. The tiny tortillas with the tacos were stale, stiff .... $4 for a shrimp taco with a few 1/2" pieces of shrimp ... Our food was served lukewarm, not hot ... although chicken tamales were listed on the menu, they were out. We'll come back in 6 months; if it's any better, will happily upgrade our review. read more

I live nearby and Oli's is amazing. Oli and Ray know how to prepare great food and it's all hand-made. I would give her 10 stars if I could. My only complaint is we hope it's not discovered! Visited with a large group of high school volleyball players and parents after a game. We had at least 40 in our party. Service was friendly and attentive. Beer was ice cold and the extra large water glass was refreshing. My shrimp fajitas were grilled to perfection and super tasty on a bed of onions and peppers. These were legit gulf shrimp, not the cheaper farm raised Asian variety. The side of charro beans were outstanding, but were served in a small shot glass sized container- hey Oli- beans are cheap, don't skimp on these! It's an easy way to fill folks up and leave them satisfied. The side setup of guacamole/sour cream/lettuce was also paltry. Other than these two issues, the meal was outstanding! Don't be put off by the exterior location next to a convenient store. The inside is comfortable and inviting. read more
