Terrible, terrible place!!! Highway robbery!!! I left my 2002 Lincoln Town Car in this place recently to replace the fuel pump and filter. My car is 20 years old, so I asked the owner, Bobby Talebi to use the cheapest parts because my car is very old. But the next day when I visited the Olive Auto Center, he charged me $1,001.53 for the cost of replacing the fuel pump and filter. I couldn't believe what he said because I know the parts including the fuel pump and filter costs only $80 or cheaper in the market. But Bobby Talebi charged $409.09 for the fuel pump and filter. He said he only uses original Motorcraft parts and that's why it is so expensive. I reminded him I had asked him to use the cheapest parts because my car is 20 years old, but he kept insisting that they only use the original parts in their shop and there is no other option. But the original Motorcraft fuel pump and filter price are actually just $285.99. He said the vendor that he works with provided that part with $409.09. He also charged $513.86 for the labor charge. Usually, the other shop labor charge is about $80 per hour, and this kind of job (replacing the fuel pump and filter) takes about 2~3 hours. But the Highway Robbery, Mr. Bobby Talebi said they charge $135 per hour and it took almost 4 hours to fix the fuel pump and filter on that day. That's why I have to pay $1,001.53, he said. He was very rude and even threaten me if I do not pay right away, I cannot take my car. It was the most terrible and unfair moment. I have to get back to my work urgently on that day, it was so unfair and unacceptable, but I had no choice but to cry and pay for it. I will claim him to a small court soon. I felt like they quoted me for too much so I searched around for mechanic that I felt more comfortable with. I found Olive Auto Center here on yelp and sent out an email immediately after reading some of the rave reviews. And these reviews were right! Bobby and his crew knew what my problem was immediately and fixed my AC blowers in an afternoon. They even inspected my car for free and gave me recommendations on what else I need to pay attention to - WITHOUT upselling me or forcing me to fix it. I was even sent pictures, and though I did not want them to be repaired then, they still provided me with valuable recommendations and services. I won't hesitate to go back again with my car issues. Damn you Wednesday!!!! So yesterday started out like any other day for me. I went to lunch with my ex who told me he is moving in with his super cute new girlfriend, I went to the Dr's with my friend to give her dumb Dr hell in the form of direct questions since she clearly doesn't know what the hell she is talking about and then, well, then my day changed as my car said, "Check gages" and before I knew it there was steam coming from the hood of my car and that tranquil radiator smell was permeating the air and all I could think was, "Fuck me." I was in Burbank and my usual mechanic is in NoHo or at the dealer in K-town, so with a car that was clearly pissed off and fuming, um, those trips weren't gonna happen. So I pulled out my trusty new BFF Blackberry and looked up auto repair and it reminded me of Jiffy Lube on Victory and so I drove over to see what the hell was wrong with it. For the record, this is the best Jiffy Lube around. I took my car here months ago for an oil change and those dudes are cool, straight up and awesome. Yesterday was no exception as they immediately circled my car and made comments like, "Damn!" "Oh shit!" "Whoa"...yes, they were talking about the car, heheh. We then opened my radiator cap to find....mud. Yep, rusty, thick disgusting looking gunk in the slushy form of, "Yeah, you're screwed, stephy." They of course, couldn't do anything to help me, but they pointed down the way a bit to Olive Auto Center and said, "He's a great guy, tell him we sent you" Normally, at one of these Jiffy places, I would think, "Yeah right, tell him we sent you...for the bend her over with no Vaseline special" since let's face it, most auto places are rip offs. But I had no choice at this point and so I drove down the street and pulled up to this place. I pulled in and was greeted by a lovely little man named Ali. He looked at my car and said, we'd have to let it cool down a bit before he could do anything. Totally understandable and so I gave him my card, took his and went to get a drink. Hey, what else do you do when waiting for your car, don't point at me? On my way to said drinking establishment, I quickly Yelped him to see if I was headed for Vaseline city and low and behold, 3 fantastic 5 star reviews!!! I was so excited and so pumped that Yelp was able to help ease my mind as my car was left with a total stranger. He then called me and said he would need to keep her over night and wanted to make sure I had my house keys and didn't leave anything I needed in the car (how rad is that!). He then called me at 8:35am this morning with a full report of the damages and it is no wheres near as expensive as I had dreaded. He also was able to come up with a cheaper way to fix the problem that will save me a few hundies! And so, my little baby of a sweet ass ride is in the very capable hands of Ali at Olive and I feel really good about it. I'm strictly bars and restaurants on Yelp, but I had to make an exception. Ali who has run this place for yeeeears is a gem. I told him about the amazing reviews I found online here at Yelp and he just said: "I treat my customers like I'm in their shoes!" And it's true. I was restless as I hadn't done an oil change for 5k miles. I have started to dislike my local 76 garage due to poor service, and I detest EZ Lubes, Jiffy Lubes etc. who allllways up sell us poor motorists. So even though I had a $20 voucher in hand from EZ Lube it's in the trash. I got 5 litres of synthetic oil (for my Audi TT) @ $7, a new oil filter and labor for $65. Yes, more than the $20 EZ Lube offer, but let's be real. That would've been $45 for regular oil. Add synthetic oil and...you get what I mean. I have no problem paying honest, nice establishments good honest money. Fair is fair. Olive Auto may not replace my Audi dealer for services, but for regular work this is a great option. read more

Trust worthy, honest, and decent prices. These are traits one always hopes for, but rarely find in a mechanic. But I must say that Olive Auto Center delivers. I don't think they have the cheapest (prices may have gone up slightly since Oli got an assistant)but they're prices are better than the dealship and competitve with most. Plus I've never had to bring my car back to fix something they didn't fix on the first round. So they are very reliable. I've never felt I was overcharged and they have oftendone little things free of charge. No guarrantees on the latter. read more

Received a fairly priced quote which beat other local prices and was able to get the job done efficiently. For my repair, I paid for them to buy the necessary parts and they shipped it for next day and I was able to come in the same day the parts delivered to complete the job. I was told it could take up to two hours, yet I was in and out in almost under an hour despite them being quite busy. Bobby also did a quick inspection as I mentioned I needed to get a smog check done at a later date and let me know of some things I should be aware of that may affect smog check results and what I can do before I get the check done to see if it might fix itself. I was a new costumer with Olive Auto Center today. I came to this auto shop off of a glowing recommendation from a colleague. I agree, they are very easy to talk to and did the job quickly, but their rates are astronomical. They charged 2.5 hrs at a rate of $200/hr for labor for a job I know did not take that long. It was a latch and cable that broke and needed to be replaced with some screws and have the cable run along the bottom of the car. I make $200/day and asked for a break, and Bobby did not budge. I'm sorry, but they already lost a new customer and I will not be recommending them moving forward. read more

2nd time customer, first time i dealt with Ali & he took great care of me and my car. 2nd time i dealt with a guy named Bobby. Forget this guy, he is very selective of who he wants to help out. 1 star is for Bobby. I took my car in for a smog, he said it wasn't ready and needed to be driven 60+ miles, took it back after driving those mileage.. still not ready and apparently needed to drive 100+ miles. I drove 100+ miles and went back to the shop.. Bobby said i needed to drive an additional 500+ miles. Bobby i hope Karma bites you back for your unprofessionalism and terrible attitude, Bobby is just an unhappy guy, ranting about the City of Burbank being ruined because of the Council. I went to a shop down the street the same say and had no issues. Bobby charged me $50 for stopping by without getting any work done. Often times, one might find it dreadful when it comes to finding a mechanic / workshop. You fear about being ripped off especially when you don't really know much about cars, or worse they end up ruining your vehicle. But that is not the case with Olive Auto Center. I contacted this place to do a service on my CVT transmission. To my surprise, Bobby advised me to go to the dealership first since it was probably still under warranty. I doubt many workshop would do that. But as it turned out the warranty had expired, so I decided to visit this workshop instead. Bobby did a quick but thorough rundown of what needed to be done, gave me a quote (and a discount being a first-time customer), and estimated time of service. The car was done on time and so far it has been doing well. Bobby texted for a follow-up regarding the car and also clarified some of the worries I had regarding the CVT fluid used. I couldn't be happier to know that I've found a workshop that knows what they are doing, efficient in their skill, and most importantly honest in telling me what they can and can't do; and top-notch in customer service. I cannot give enough stars to Bobby and team, I will always recommend them to anyone who needs a mechanic. I moved from the east coast (read salt damage) and Bobby not only understands some of the wear/tear my car has seen, but he always explains why he chooses somethings to be more pressing than others, and is truthful and realistic about maintenance. For example if something needs to be done today versus can be pushed off for another 6 months. I like that it's family owned, I like knowing everyone's name- all the mechanics, and I love not being up charged hundreds of dollars for my Volkswagen (they are pricey to repair). read more

Their shop is large and CLEAN. They're not the cheapest auto repair shop around but they know what they're doing. They inspected my car and called and gave me the news that it would cost almost $4,000 to fix my car. Considering my options, I went ahead and had the repairs done. The bill was exactly what they said, they fixed it in 1 day with orig. mfg. parts, & it was ready when they said it would be ready. My SUV (a hybrid) now runs like a top and I no longer have the "christmas tree" lights going off on my dashboard. I would recommend this shop and intend to return should I have any more problems with my automobile. read more

I came in to have my side mirror replaced on my new Corolla (hit and run). I ordered the mirror on my own ($250) and brought it here to be installed for just $96. I'm glad I came here because another shop quoted me over 1 thousand dollars including parts & labor claiming they need to recalibrate the BSM sensors, which was not needed. It only took about 25 minutes for them to install it and it's good as new :) I saved myself the trouble of filing an insurance claim and paying my deductible by coming to Olive Auto! read more

They are so efficient and nice. I took my Suburu there to ask if they could fix my tail gate door, it would only open 12-15 inches. I thought I would have to take it to the dealership for a $$$$ but having met the owner, Bobby before I prayed that he could repair it. Fifteen minutes later he said "all done".
