This is my favorite restaurant in the area. When I go I end up ordering 4-6 appetizers and with lunch and desert for two it is still less than $40. Order kibbee, hummus, and arnabit. Must haves. Hummus has a subtle flavor which Is unique to this place and is my personal favorite. Arnabit is delectable. I've gotten vegetarians to change by the kibbee. Chicken or falafel shawarma are great or the roasted vegetables is like a personal pizza. Don't forget the baklava, eating it sends you to another world for a moment. So sweet and syrupy. I've never had better hummus in my life. I also love the arnabit, chicken kabob, and the side of rice that comes with entrees! Lunch is great too. They downsize a lot of the entrees and make them into sandwiches, which are only $5-6. The chocolate raspberry cake is my favorite dessert. read more

I was a little leery about the location on the south side of Bethlehem but it was not that bad. The walk to the restaurant from the south side seemed just fine at 19:30. The owner/server was awesome. He is Lebanese and Syrian and a very nice man. The food was really good and authentic middle eastern. We will definitely go back, it is worth the trip to the south side for the hospitality and good eats! read more

Olive Branch Cafe and Restaurant is a must go to in Bethlehem. My dad and I were killing some time in Bethlehem before a college tour and we decided to stop for lunch in the small family run Middle Eastern restaurant, seeing the good Yelp reviews. I am not from around here, as I live near Boston, but going here was a very wise decision. When we went inside the restaurant, it was not busy whatsoever, and a nice older man tended to us. My dad got the chicken kabob lunch and I got the combination kabob entree, which came with rice and fatuch salad. Definitely made a good choice coming here, as I had probably one of the best meals I've had so far on my Pennsylvania college road trip. Highly recommend this place if you want to switch it up a little bit and get a taste of a different culture! read more

I journeyed there yesterday afternoon in search of baklava. Apparently at that monent the restaurant was closed for a wedding/bridal reception but appeared open from the outside. I went in, and the woman behind the counter explained they technically weren't open yet. She was nice enough to sell me baklava and a piece of peanut butter pie. The baklava was dense overall, and each layer of dough was still light and fluffy even though it had been soaking in that syrupy goodness all morning. The peanut butter pie was more peanut butter than chocolate, which normally would have been a major no-no. This exceeded my expectations (well, the few bites I was able to steal at least). It had the consistency of peanut butter mixed with whipped cream, and it was absolutely delicious. Mmmm.....delicious. I will definitely go back again, only this time when they're actually open to try the rest of what they have to offer. read more

This has been my favorite Middle Eastern restaurant for over 15 years. The owners, Sam and Gaida, are wonderful people who take great pride in the fresh food they serve. The food is consistently delicious and the peanut butter pie is the best I've ever had. This is our favorite restaurant! We've been coming for over 16 years - food is delicious! We celebrate all our special occasions here, plus any others we think of. It's a very friendly family business, Sam talks with everyone and Ghata's food and desserts just melt in your mouth. The waiters are all family - Tamara (grace under fire on 2/2 with a full house), Gina and Tim -- all professional, friendly and very competent! I'm sold on the fatuch and grilled chicken and my husband loves the salmon. And only once did I leave not having dessert. Great appetizers - mixed pies and tabouli. Freshness of each apparent! The feta pie was our favorite of the three (meat, grape leaf, feta) Lamb kabob excellent with perfect seasoning. Had the mixed kabob platter and this one stood out as the best. Others were delicious as well. Grilled Kibbee not so interesting. Kind of dry and one-note. This might be a traditional dish but to our palates, nothing we really found outstanding. Same can be said for the rice side. Baklava was really great. Not too sweet and definitely tasted like a homemade dessert. Many other desserts that seemed worth trying (even for a non-dessert person like ourselves.) The service was outstanding and the personal touch the owners provide made the experience all the more rewarding. Really appreciate everything they are doing at this establishment. Everything is delightful. The ambiance is simple, inviting and relaxing. Dinner was great. We started with the trio of pies, spinach, meat and cheese and an order of hummus. All terrific! Moved on to the fatoush (salad) fresh, crisp and tasty. Then on to the marinated chicken skewers and the falafel dinner. Best falafel I've ever had and I've been eating falafel all over the country for over 35 years. Crispy on the outside and light and flavorful inside. The desserts were AMAZING! I had the rose cream with chopped pistachios on top and my partner had the chocolate raspberry cake. I have been wanting to return for sometime. Today I had lunch there with my parents. They are the latest fans! The shwarma, fetusch salad, sampler of meat pies, macaroon cookie, peanut butter pie, iced tea and Arabic coffees were all most excellent! Every dish was fresh. We put some salad in our shwarma sandwiches. The peanut butter pie was not too heavy: the peanut butter filling is like a mousse, the chocolate is a slightly thin layer on top with a rich graham cracker crust. I love the layered flavors in every dish, including the drinks. Even the iced tea had nuanced flavors. I highly recommend this restaurant, with expertly homemade dishes and desserts; and warm, friendly service. I hope to return very soon. read more

I too love the arnabit. And the babaganoush is just wonderful - a nice roasted eggplant flavor. The grape leaves with meat are great and the pies are all really good.
