I took my grandkids here and we love it. The food and service are always great. They are kind to kids.

I am not the type of person to complain to a manager at a restaurant, but today was an unfortunate exception. I went to a late lunch with friends and family on a Sunday at 2:00pm. At first, things were going as expected. We got our first round of drinks, soup, and salad fairly quickly. Our waitress was busy between multiple tables, so we were understanding about our empty glasses. It took 45 minutes to get any breadsticks and the dipping sauce we paid for. We asked for soup and salad refills multiple times with only one salad refill. We eventually were all out of our beverages and asked for more. She would promise to bring it by, but never did. Most of us had water. Again, we completely understand when a restaurant is busy, or short staffed, or even both! The problem lies in the fact that we waited for over an hour and a half for our main dishes to come out. When they came, two of the dishes were cold, and three of the pastas did not have enough sauce. For reference, I ordered rotini with Alfredo and there was only sauce on half of the noodles. I had asked for a cup of sauce for the rest of my noodles, and was brought out a small container (about the size of a shot glass) half filled with sauce. At this point we had already been there for 2 hours, so when the waitress asked if we needed anything else, we asked for some boxes and our checks. She came back quickly (for once) with those items. Instead of handing them to someone, she tossed the bags, boxes, chocolates, and receipts in a pile across the plates on one side of the table, and directly in someone's food. When we looked at the checks, all of our items were completely mixed up. I talked to the waitress attempting to ask her about it, and she completely ignored me and walked away as I was speaking. I took the receipt to the hostess stand, where a manager attempted to help me. I explained all of the problems that had occurred during our meal, and asked for help in separating the checks. He apologized and took the check to work on it. 10 minutes later he came back and simply told me to use the kiosk to fix the problem. Real great managerial support in my opinion. All of this is to say that I spent over two hours in a restaurant with unhelpful staff, cold pasta, and a less than desirable amount of sauce -- all for the low, low cost of $25 (not including tip). Again, I am the last person to ever complain...I get that life is crazy and sometimes we have bad days, but this experience was horrible. I would highly recommend driving the extra 10-15 minutes to the Niles location for a better experience. read more

We went to the Olive Garden in Boardman Ohio for a late celebration. We were seated in an area that had 2 occupied tables. The waitress that was serving them, came in a couple of times to check on them and never acknowledged us at all, she didn't even say that someone would be with us shortly. The manager even came in, spoke to the other guests and totally ignored us. After waiting 10-15 mins, we got up and left. We spoke to the manager, told her we were leaving and that we didn't appreciate being ignored. She acted like it was no big deal, that we weren't served. Restaurants wonder why people don't want to go out to eat, this is a prime example of why we don't go out to eat. The restaurant wasn't even that busy, as we were there around 8pm. Ordered lunch here everyday when I was pregnant. Always perfect, fresh food. I ordered online and chose curbside pickup. The wait is typically around 15 minutes even if you only get one entree, but this establishment is ALWAYS busy. With that being said, despite the number of people always there my order has never been wrong and the employees bringing the food to that car show extreme kindness and professionalism. Waiting staff- good job. But, food is not good. SPAGHETTI noodles have got to be sitting in a bowl of water, pre-cooked for the whole day. They taste like dishwater. Speaking of dishes, silverware has water spots, all of it. Not a huge deal but, the plates-bowls are dirty. Not water spots, dirty- dirty-dirty. Typical chain restaurant food.... Heat n eat. They're all the same every where you go...... If you visit a place like this while on vacation... Shame on you. That being said.... I haven't had a terrible experience here but its a tired establishment that needs updating. The service was adequate.... I would say a reflexion of our area youth.... Pretty much mediocre at best. It's a chain restaurant that serves Americanized Italian food. Therefore you can't expect it to be the best Italian food you've ever had. You have to give it credit for what it is. With that being said, even if it's a chain that means nothing when it comes to customer service. I don't think I've really ever had good service at the Niles location. They took my favorite dish off the menu years ago and since I've stuck with the good ole soup and salad for lunch and dinner. If you get this for dinner don't expect more then one bowl of soup or salad. I'm guessing cause it's more of their lunch deal when it comes to dinner the servers just aren't too worried about it. I've only had really bad food once and the server could of cared less. (It wasn't that the food was BAD per say but my zuppa legit had onion peels in it... I even showed the server and she laughed). On the weekends be prepared to wait as it does get pretty busy. The best time to go is when they're offering the unlimited pasta bowl. Other then that id head to Salvatore's or Antone's if you're looking for good Italian food and decent service. read more

We had a gift card to use and some room in our bellies after a wedding reception, so we got a few appetizers and small plates to go. Sweetie had the stuffed mushrooms, which were, well, competent. I had the tortellini small plate, with cheese and prosciutto, which was pretty good, along with fried asparagus, which was darn good. This American chain restaurant is great for Americans who want full bellies and are willing to pay the carb' price. The food is tasty, I am not going to argue that. I have left here many times with no real complaints. Its just too heavy for my liking. I don't like the feeling of having cement in my belly. (shrugs) On a weekend the restaurant is packed, but they try to keep the lines moving and get you in and out in a reasonable time. The wait staff is usually experienced and prompt. It is important for patrons to know that this restaurant has NO security cameras in it's parking lots and has had vehicles broken into there while customers were dining. We did an on line catering order. Food was not only ready 2 days later at the exact time they said, it was already bagged up and ready to take. The employees Jessie and, feel terrible can't remember other young ladie's name, went way above and beyond to help out with helping on different decisions to make. Okay, with a few bucks to spend on my gift card I thought we'll give them another chance at a different location. This time my gluten-free pasta was cooked correctly! However, the sauce lacked anything special and I needed to load the cheese on as well as pepper to give it any kind of flavor. Since gluten-free pasta is pretty bland, the sauce really needs to be good! Glad I gave it another shot, but not in a hurry to return.
