Chicken & Shrimp Carbonara. Hot and delicious.

The salad was great. The chicken and shrimp carbonara pasta was hot and delicious. The hostess and server were helpful and polite. The hostess noticed the sun was in our eyes and lowered the shades. We will definitely come back.

The new Olive Garden down on SE 14th is a lovely facility! We made the drive when the WDM one had over an hour wait. We got seated here within 5 min. Service, staff, and food were phenomenal. Food was amazing as always. The interior is very cute and feels clean. It definitely has that new vibe as it just opened earlier this year.

I am beyond excited that Olive Garden has made it to the South Side of Des Moines! We were seated quickly upon arrival. The hostess was friendly but quiet. Our waitress Ebony was attentive and extremely nice. She gave us several options for drinks and appetizers to choose from. She was patient with us as we looked over the menu and took our order flawlessly. Our food came out a bit quickly. Our salad arrived first with breadsticks. Those are so warm and yummy!  Our appetizer came out shortly thereafter, which I would have preferred it wait just a bit. Our entries came out with much better timing shortly after we finished our appetizer. I ordered the ravioli carbonara with sautéed shrimp. The sauce was creamy and had amazing bacon flavor. So much food!  We ended up bringing half of our entrees home. It's definitely a welcome change to the south side!

The southside has a new stand alone restaurant off the southeast corridor with easy access on and off. The parking lot is spacious and the menu has comparable prices for a national chain$$. I attended a soft opening before the opening date. At the front entrance were warm and friendly greeters to welcome you. The assigned hostess escorted you to a very bright and well spaced area with upscale decor. My server, Cheyanne was very knowledgeable about the menu and suggested a variety of delicious options. The chef gave life to each dish making it colorful and eye appealing. My Alfredo Fettuccine was well seasoned with heaping piles of tender chicken. My plate was so full-- I needed a take home dish. The family friendly atmosphere and the menu is full of options for all to enjoy.

We went on a Saturday afternoon and received great service. It would be nice if it was quieter but other than that, I couldn't ask for more.

The cocktails range from fun to classic. Most of the cocktails are served with a large ice cube, which is perfect for whiskey. The service is attentive and just know that if everything is crafted to order, it does take a few minutes. I loved my Pork Torta. Fried pork topped with ham and Swiss. With truffle fries. Win! Salmon, perfect. Salad, fresh. Strawberry balsamic dressing does land on the sweeter side. One person in our group got the public defender ( cheese burger ). He said it was ok. I asked what he expected, and he conceded it was basic and that's as described. The atmosphere is fun casual. The bathrooms feature art....

From the very fun judicial decor to the friendly staff, this bar's atmosphere is perfect! We were summoned here after hearing about this fun new spot and it did not disappoint. They have a great cocktail menu that brings both creativity and variety to satisfy anyones taste. I had the strawberry summons and it was delicious, while my sister also enjoyed her rosemary rest mocktail. For dinner the burgers were the hit! High quality, well-seasoned, juicy meat with creative but tasty toppings. The truffle fries were very good, but could have used some more parm on top. That was the only critique. Overall we really enjoyed this new spot and verdicts in: we will be back!

100% recommend. I…read moreusually brace myself for disappointment when eating at an airport. The prices are inflated, the quality drops, and you eat it because you're stuck there, not because it's good. Arugala & Rye at DSM broke that pattern for me. While eating before our flight out of Iowa, we grabbed the Caprese Chicken sandwich, the Italian, and a fountain soda. The Caprese Chicken was really tasty and filling enough to carry me through until I finished both legs of my flight. The Italian surprised me even more; it stacked up against, and honestly outdid, a few popular sandwich chains where I've had the same thing from. What stood out on both was the bread: fresh, not stale or sad like you'd expect. Good ingredients. Satisfying all around. The space is casual and roomy. Even when it's filled up, there were enough tables that a spot opened within a minute or two of waiting. And if you're into aviation at all, you can grab a seat right by the window to get a view of some planes landing while you eat. One thing worth noting is that at the time I'm writing this, the place sits around a 2.5 rating, but my experience was nowhere close to that; it was far better than the rating suggests. Pro: Fresh food at a fair price, properly portioned, and probably the best bang-for-your-buck airport meal we've ever had. Con: None. Tip: Even though I only attached a picture of my Caprese Chicken sandwich and the menu for their sandwiches, they do offer more types of food. A lot of people were ordering their flatbread pizzas, which is what I will probably try myself next time.

Take your children here for their chicken tenders girls! Their fries are great too (not pictured). But my usual order is house salad with steak... holy moly everytime it never does me wrong. It's such a cozy environment with family pictures and warm lighting and a relaxed intimate feel. Tumeas you will never get rid of me

There's a large parking lot adjacent to Tumea & Sons. The place was packed. We were greeted right away as we walked in and were told it would be a 30-40 min wait. We knew there were some smaller parties already waiting and at least a party of eight in front of us. There was a very outspoken stereotypical Nonna representing the party of eight...and who was really giving the host the business... Lol We found standing room at the bar where we decided to wait. The bartenders were doing a good job. There were a few people seated and we weren't the only ones waiting for a table... The decor inside is WAY more old school casual than Latin King. It's a little dated. I'd say it has a blue collar working man's feel to it... That works for me! I guess I'm still a little rough around the edges sometimes... Opened in 1998... Their family history is proudly displayed on their walls! Seating is a combination of booths and low top tables and chairs in the main dining area. Standard bar seating. booths, and a couple high tops in the bar area. I think we were right about at our estimated wait time when we were called over to go to a table. 2x Bud Light bottles 2x Cranberry and vodka 2x Mixed drinks (Malibu, pineapple juice, and grenadine) 2x Fountain drinks (Coke products) 1x Onion Rings (half order) - Thinly sliced & hand-breaded 1x Steak De Burgo. Side salad (house creamy garlic dressing) - Two five ounce beef medallions served in a rich garlic herbed cream sauce 1x Fried Shrimp with fries and a side salad (house creamy garlic dressing) - Seven double breaded, deep fried shrimp, served with cocktail sauce 1x Pasta Diablo. Add chicken. Side salad (house creamy garlic dressing) - Penne rigate served with a spicy tomato cream sauce 1x Raspberry tiramisu Standard table service. Drink orders first and then on to the food. Our server did a great job and the food was fantastic! The wait wasn't long after ordering before food started to hit the table. Rolls and salads first. I don't normally like thin onion rings, but I really liked these. Crispy. Drained properly. Not the soggy greasy limp mess I've come to associate with thin onion rings... Lol The pasta diablo wasn't near as spicy as I thought it might be from what I've heard from others. Pretty mild... Great flavor though! The raspberry tiramisu was pretty good. I'm more of a traditional tiramisu guy, but one of my friends doesn't care for the taste of coffee... Made in a very similar style but cream and raspberry sauce. Staff was friendly and personable even though you could tell they were nearing the end of a hectic Saturday dinner service. All three of us were pleased with our food! No one walked away hungry...! I can definitely recommend Tumea & Sons! Already looking forward to going back...!
