Had the chicken finger and they were not good. Rubbery and burnt. Need new menu. Will not go back unless new owners get the quality up.

The atmosphere is absolutely beautiful, but that's the only positive thing I can say about this place. We waited over an hour for our food, only to be served a burnt meatball sub and a bowl of soup that was cold. The service was incredibly slow, and to make matters worse, the owners were rude, dismissive, and seemed completely uninterested in making things right. The restrooms were filthy and clearly haven't received the attention they need. Cleanliness, customer service, and food quality all seem to be an afterthought here. If you're on your lunch break or value your time and money, do yourself a favor and eat somewhere else. A beautiful atmosphere can't make up for burnt food, cold soup, dirty restrooms, and poor customer service. I won't be returning. read more

If I could give this place a zero star I would, but I can't. Me and my bf went there he got the ribeye and I got the Chicken Marsala. The ribeye the first time we had to send back, he ordered it medium rare and it came out well done and thin. The second time it came out it was tough, it looked and tased old, but it was thicker this time, still not good though. Our salad was more like a soup, and the portion was cut in half, we didn't get our bread. My chicken was fully cooked but the sauce was basically water the veggies were bland and not cooked all the way, also I go super sick after eating. The service was good-ish, had to ask a different waiter to fill our drinks. None of the tables were clean when we got there and there wasn't any one at the tables they just had plates of food sitting on the tables. Overall don't recommend going again or at all. read more

My group of eight went to Adagio Pasta and Grill for lunch today. We've eaten here many times before, which made this experience especially disappointing. Our server was initially prompt with drinks, salad, and bread, although there wasn't enough for a table of eight, and two members of our group received cold soup. After that, however, we waited nearly an hour for our entrees with very little communication and several empty drink glasses. Around 50 minutes after ordering, we noticed that tables seated well after us had already received their food. When we asked our server about the delay, she explained that a printer malfunction had prevented our order from reaching the kitchen. While technical issues happen, no one had communicated this to us during the long wait. We were on our lunch break, and a simple update would have gone a long way. While we discussed our frustration among ourselves, we were not yelling or disturbing other guests. Instead of checking on us or apologizing, one of the owners approached our table and immediately confronted us about our conversation. He singled out one member of our group, who calmly explained why we were frustrated after waiting so long. Rather than trying to resolve the situation, he became defensive, loudly announced that he was kicking our group out, and followed that individual outside after she chose to leave. He also attempted to make her pay for food she had never received before telling her never to return. The food eventually arrived after more than an hour, but by then the experience had overshadowed the meal. One member of our party even received a meatball sub that was visibly burned. We were so uncomfortable after the confrontation that we simply packed up our food and left. The delayed food wasn't what ruined this visit. Mistakes happen. What made this such a negative experience was the complete lack of communication, followed by an owner publicly confronting customers instead of apologizing or taking responsibility. A professional response would have de-escalated the situation, not turned it into a spectacle. Unfortunately, after today's experience, we won't be returning. read more

A review that was lost somehow so I'm reposting from our 2025 visit. Oh Joey (the name we gave our waiter) was this place so so bad. A group of friends dine out about once a month and this place received great recommendations so we gave it a try. Our group was seated in a side room off to the left as you are walking into the dining area. There were only a few other tables filled when we visited. My meal wasn't what I ordered, but I ate it anyways as it was close (still chicken) and tasted good. One person in our group ordered a steak, which came out looking green - no joking here - it looked green as in Sam I Am green. She sent that back and a visit from the manager who offered a meal replacement so she ordered something else and also accidentally received a new steak meal, which they gave her to go and it looked great (brown). Two other folks had mixups with their meals too, which the manager also made right. Service was terrible, 50% of the meals were wrong, and one was not edible. Overall, while the manager did the best to make things right it was just too wrong to turn around. We still laugh about how bad this place was when we get together. To be fair, folks are shocked when we tell them how bad it was because I guess this place is usually pretty good to excellent. I'm just not that adventurous to give them a second try and there are too many other options. The restaurant was clean and inviting so I guess that was good. read more

We had heard good things, so we decided to try it. HUGE mistake! Upon entering, we noticed that many tables were empty but not cleaned. We assumed they might be short staffed. This turned out not to be the case. We counted four servers plus a hostess and they had a maximum of eight tables while we were there. My husband and I both ordered the endless soup, salad and bread. The server was sweet and we had our food in a timely manner. The food was good. However, both bowls of soup were cold. My husband decided to eat his cold, but I asked if I could please have a new bowl of soup, as mine was cold. She responded very positively and went to the kitchen. Thirty minutes later, I still had no soup, my husband was now also out of soup, we were out of bread and salad. We were not asked if we wanted more, so I stopped the server when she went by our table. I inquired about our soup and a refill on the salad, bread and iced tea. Approximately 10 minutes later, a different server came by and tossed a basket of bread onto our table. (It's now been 40 minutes since I ordered the hot bowl of soup). When we reached the 50 minute mark, someone (not our server) brough a bill and sat it on our table. Needless to say, we decided to leave. We were met at the register by the owner who proceeded to say that I had been disrespectful to our server (I promise you I had been very kind and very patient.) Upon checking out, I did tell the server that I would not be paying for soup because I never received any. The owner proceeded to ask us not to return to his restaurant, asked if we were born and raised in Mayfield, implied that we had never been in a "fine restaurant" before, and told us that he was "weeding out the bad customers". To be honest, we would never have returned regardless! Save your money and go elsewhere. Any small business owner who does not care about his customers should not be in business to begin with. read more

There were two of us dining tonight. My friend ordered a meal that she has ordered there 10 times before. When the chicken came out it was dry and hard. When she sent it back a young girl came out and told her that that is how the chicken is always prepared. There was no offer to fix the meal until we questioned further and then she asked if she wanted it remade, but it was going to come out the same way because that's just how it served. I ordered cheese ravioli. I understand pasta is to be served al dente, but these were chewy and almost raw. They were tough to cut. I wasn't going to bother to send them back. We saw that the owner was there and asked to speak with him. Before coming to our table, he first spoke to the girl who first came out and they had a good laugh of some kind . Then he came over to the table and was smirking and laughing the entire time we were there with him . It was a super bad experience. She loves their desserts and may go back just to get a dessert to go (which probably comes out of a box anyway) . I will never go back. No wonder they were almost empty on a Friday night. The bright spot of our experience was a very, very sweet waitress. She was a young girl and she took really good care of us. I would advise her to take her talents elsewhere. I was visiting friends in the area and came in at 1 pm on a Sunday afternoon and couldn't order a pizza because they ran out of dough. I told them to send someone over to the Walmart which is next door and get some flour. How can you run out of dough at 1 pm? So after ordering their all you can eat salad and soup, a asked for some butter for my bread and butter was going to be .50 cents extra. So no pizza at 1 pm and 50 cents for butter. Also the soup and salad were fine, but I wasn't expecting too much after all this is Mayfield Kentucky. read more

The most rude wait staff and the most uncomfortable dining experience I've ever encountered! Our filet tips (2 orders) were overcooked and tough. We noticed this right away but our server (Carly) didn't return to check on us until the end of our meal and by that time we were full on pasta. At least 90% of our filet was left untouched on both plates. When she finally came to check on us, we told our server how overcooked the filet was and she offered to bring us more. We thanked her but explained we were full from the pasta and we are from out of town and leaving in the morning, so we have no way to store or use leftovers. She said "Well, there's nothing else I can do." We asked to speak to a manager. She pulled aside a young waiter (19 - 20 year old) and sent him to our table. He stumbled with his words and claimed to be a 'lead waiter' and that no manager was on duty. He offered to take one of the meals off the bill. We agreed. Then our waitress comes back to the table and SHOUTS "YOU'RE NOT GETTING THIS OFF YOUR BILL! I OFFERED YOU A SOLUTION AND YOU REFUSED IT! JUST PAY FOR YOUR FOOD AND LEAVE!" I couldn't believe we were getting yelled at. We had been nothing but calm and polite. At this point, a woman in her 40's storms out of the kitchen and tells us to us to pay full price for our food and leave. The woman from the kitchen didn't ask what was going on, just told us to come to the register and pay. We paid the full price but added $0 tip. I've never been treated so poorly before. Obviously, the young man was coerced into lying about being in charge. And then the waitress caused such an awkward scene. It was all unnecessary and unfortunate. Omg.. mayfeild... this is our first time here.. we are from out of state.. and wow .. this food is amazing. Best food we had since we have been here. The trio .. soo good. Love that I could taste 3 different foods. And the grilled chicken Marcella..Amasing, mouth watering!!! I just want more !! All of out food came with bread and soup or salad. The potatoe soup was perfectly blended with bacon and cheese. The salad was soo big and salad dressing was tasty. Don't let me forget about the wonderful, friendly staff. I've been to Adagio a few times and I will say it does compare to the style of Olive Garden quite a bit...except it's way better. Throw your Olive Garden expectations out the window, because Mayfield finally did something really right! In the same style as OG, you'll order an entree and pick between unlimited soup or salad. Obviously, most people go for the salad. It does look and have the same ingredients as OG, but with their own house made dressing. Very similar, but somehow even better. You're also brought out freshly baked bread. Or I probably should say, loaf of bread. These aren't breadsticks by any means, but you won't be let down. The bread alone is delicious and if you like, they bring out an herby olive oil to dip. My favorite entree to order is the Florentine Trio, which consists of a delicious spinach and cheese stuffed ravioli, topped with perfectly seasoned chicken and shrimp and a house made alfredo sauce. Yes, it is to die for. The alfredo sauce is rich in flavor and will easily become your favorite. The grilled chicken tortellini is a great choice as well, if you're not a seafood person. On my last visit this past weekend, I decided to switch it up and order the Milano Chicken. An amazing choice. The grilled chicken is topped with a wine butter sauce, goat cheese, and sundried tomatoes. I went with the fettuccine alfredo as my side. 10/10 would recommend. The thing all these dishes and different experiences have in common is, the food is made to order HOT and FRESH. The service here is always great, wait times aren't terrible (it is a pretty popular place and can get a tad backed up), the restaurant is always very clean, the atmosphere is great, the decor is cool. It's a great place to eat with a group, with your best friend, or to have a date night at. Overall, this is a great place to visit and I hope it becomes a staple to Mayfield for the community to enjoy for years to come. read more

Compares favorably to Olive Garden. The food and prices are similar to what you get at Olive Garden. As there is no Olive Garden in Mayfield, hopefully, this will allow this new restaurant a chance to gain a following. Especially as the state Covid restrictions get eased to allow more capacity. It is important to note that no restaurant can thrive without top notch customer service. It is here that Adagio has a gem with the server we had, Victoria (aka Tori). She greeted my mom and I at the door and actually held it open for us. She also held the door open for us as we left. In between she provided stellar service and courteousness. If the rest of the staff follows her lead Adagio will be in fine shape going forward. read more

Adagio Pasta & Grill is a gem of a restaurant in this small town. My family has been there at least 20 times since they opened (probably much more) and I have yet to have a bad experience. I was shocked to come on here (looking for their menu before our visit tonight) and not find this rated 5 stars. What we love: (1) the pricing for the amount and quality (for lunch especially) is more bang for your buck than going through the local drive throughs and often less expensive. (2) we find the quality of food has always been above average to excellent at each visit. Among many dishes, we've enjoyed the eggplant parmigiana (my favorite), the cheese ravioli (try it with the Alfredo sauce and you'll be in a luxurious cheese heaven), and the salmon is near perfection with just the right amount of smoky goodness and an excellent sauce pairing. If you're looking for a starter, you can't go wrong with the toasted ravioli. (3) the service - I can't think of a time when I've had any poor service with one exception and that's when we've ordered pick up on a week day and the line for pick up is lengthy and time consuming. That's just part of having a busy lunch service and I can't really knock them for that. Table service has always been top notch. There were some waits when they first opened, but not so much now. (4) the ambiance reminds me of a quaint downtown city Italian restaurant where you could have a family dinner or a quiet date. It is in no way cluttered or clunky as I've seen in a previous review. Overall, I would list Adagio as one of my favorite dining locations in the region. read more

Service started out alright, but my mid meal pur table was full of empty plates that the server did not prebus. I also ended up getting the wrong meal & did not eat it and the server never took it off the bill & only offered to get me the right meal after the check was already dropped. We have been impressed by the food and service at this restaurant in the past, but last night will be the last time we eat there. The food was sub-par at best. The children's mac and cheese was kraft out of the box. Not what we expect from a higher end Italian restaurant. The spaghetti and meat balls tasted like they were frozen and jar sauce. The service for 6 adults and two small children was horrible. We ordered 3 appetizers and got two with no plates after asking several times. We ate them off our napkins. One child's meal and drink was forgotten till we asked for it again. The salad (served in one LG. Bowl shareable) was served, and before we could get any on our plates, our main dish came out. Those who ordered soup and salad. They got it all at the same time. We were overwhelmed with dishes on our table all at once. Then was told by our server that they wanted to charge for two salads that were shared with the two small children (2 and 4) from the parents' plates, even though the sharable salad bowl still had salad in it. The charge was going to be 7.99 for each child. There was more, but Needless to say, we picked the wrong restaurant to take out of town guests to. We won't be back! read more

The first time we went we sat for a good half and hour. No drinks no service. We left. we decided to give them a second chance. My son ordered chicken parmigiana. The chicken was not pounded out. Sent back. My ravioli was gummy and I ended up in the hospital the next day. This place needs a bonafide trained chef. Bread was good. Probably made from frozen loaves.
