Great Mediterranean food! Visited on Friday at 5 pm for a friend's birthday celebration. This restaurant does not take reservations, however, at the time we walked in there was no wait time. We chose to sit inside but there is also outdoor patio seating. This place was vibrantly lit with modern boho style lighting fixtures. We ordered the lamb sausage flatbread as an appetizer. It was so tasty I couldn't stop eating it! For entrees we selected the Moussaka and the plate with shrimp and lamb kabobs with potatoes and grilled vegetables. My family and I have been going here for YEARS and have introduced it to many. I love this location specifically because the atmosphere, there's so many things to do in downtown Brea, and I always have a great experience with the food - the Rocka salad with chicken, feta fries, and pesto flatbread always makes my mouth do cartwheels! This review is well overdue but today Anna made it extra special. My fiance and I got there right at 11am ready to dig into some amazing food. Anna was patient, precise, caring, and still managed to be on top of our food order and customer service- even though she was catering / waiting other tables, it felt like her attention was on us and us only. Tis the season to be jolly...Fa la la Falafel! I've always been a fan of falafel and was excited to try the falafel offering here at Olive Pit Grill. One good way to try their falafel is via their entree plate. For $21; the falafel entree plate comes with falafel and and two small bites. For my small bites I chose to get the hummus along with the grilled vegetables. The falafel entree plate didn't disappoint. It was had a nice, crisp exterior. Flavorwise it was nutty with hint of spice. It matched well with the creamy hummus. I also liked the grilled vegetables. They were lightly charred and flavorful. Got here just in time for happy hour. We were greeted immediately and sat by the server at the bar. She took our drink and appetizer order before happy hour ended. We ordered the house Merlot and the mango cart. We ordered the hummus and fried zucchini from the happy hour menu. The hummus was so tasty, and the pita bread to soft. The zucchini was also very tasty, and the dipping sauce was just perfect. We ordered the two skewers plates, I ordered the chicken and shrimp and my husband ordered the lamb and steak. I really enjoyed my food, the chicken was cooked to Perfection, not dry and just the right amount of seasoning. Served with two sides dishes, I got the grilled artichoke hearts, my favorite and the basmati rice. My husband chose the same side dishes. He too enjoyed his food. Ok, I've got history with this place, back before they had this this full service location. They had a small kinda self serve place in Brea by Walmart; it was fantastic then....now I've been to this Brea Blvd. Location maybe five times since they moved; wishing for a glimpse of its former fantastic self. So today we tried again, it wasn't crowded when we arrived, the man that seated us gave us a happy hour menu along with they're regular menu we were seated at 5:40, I had seen a billboard ad outside advertising happy hour till 6:00 M-F; when the waitress came around, she said happy hour ended at 5:00, as it was printed on the happy hour menu we were given when seated at 5:40; so I thought well maybe I saw tge billboard wrong, but NO it did say till 6:00!!! Anyway as if that's not all, I ordered the entree plate of lamb sausage with Batsami rice and green beans, here's my review of that- sausage was dry and overcooked, rice was a low grade Batsami , and green beans were tasteless, so so disappointed; I had my $16 dollar margarita which was billed on happy hour menu $10, I paid $16, as the Best in Brea, well not so it was in a small well glass, I'd say go to cha Cha's for the margarita, my rating would be average at best. read more

Food was pretty good. Started with the Margherita pizza, which we really enjoyed. I was a bit surprised the filet mignon kabob was ok, but the lamb was delicious. Other than that I really enjoyed the rest of 2 kabob meal with mediterranean salad, basmati rice and pita bread. My friend & gf really enjoyed their meals as well. I was able to enjoy the Lamb gyro wrap leftovers we had the next day. Very tasty. I didn't try the garlic spread, but I was informed that it had a very strong flavor. That would be up to you to decide. The Arnold palmer was a bit light on the lemonade side initially, but as long as you inform your server she will make it right. Service was great. Our main server was very nice and interactive. Her lead was very attentive as well, along with her whole team. I can definitely see this place being a date night place, hang with friends and have some drinks, or even if you just feel like having a lunch or night to yourself. Fantastic food, we shared appetizers on the happy hour menu. Absolutely delicious. We enjoyed fantastic service from all employees. We sat on one of their two patios with our dog. They immediately provided her with a bowl of water. The patio was lovely and when the sun was causing a glare of my face they immediately came out and lowered the blinds. First time here and not bad! The entree I got was the steak sirloin entree, came with steak, pita, rice, and fries. Unfortunately, the steak was extremely dry. I wish they asked me how I liked it cook, I would've said medium rare and maybe that would've made a difference. Besides that, the pita was good, rice had a unique flare to it, and the fries were decent. The flatbread wasn't that good, the cheese was very thin and I could hardly taste the cheese. Appears the staff is working hard to destroy the reputation and business. Too many servers lingering about talking amongst each other, not paying attention to the customers. [SECOND VISIT] We met our daughter at this place Aug 10, 2025 to celebrate her birthday she had the steak sirloin entree, my wife and I had the grilled salmon entrée. Salmon was overcooked, dried out did not taste fresh no flavor, a little butter, lemon juice and capers topping would have been great. The triangle pita breads cold and stale. My wife asked our Server "Nicole M" Table 13 for a birthday desert, did not offer any options arrived with the desert, tossed the desert plate onto the table lit the candle and walked away, not a word... rude and unfriendly.. After our meal we went for a walk down town, not more than 10 minutes later three of us had to rush to a restroom to relieve ourselves, whatever was in the food did not set well at all. It turned into an emergency restroom rush... Happened to my wife and I (we had salmon entrée) and our daughter (she had steak entrée) . We suspect, food contamination, improper handling, spoiled food etc. Post meal resulted in diarrhea and stomach cramps. Something uncouth happening in the kitchen. Olive Pit in downtown Brea is a pretty busy spot that has plenty of fans that enjoy eating Mediterranean cuisine. I came here during lunchtime and it was busy and packed with all the tables inside and outside being filled. We did have to wait a few minutes to get seated but in the end, we did enjoy the food here. Our food also took a little while to get to us but we did order a hummus plate that comes with three options/ flavors of hummus and pita bread. The taste of the hummus was delicious and I couldn't stop eating the pita bread. I ordered the three skewer plates and I got to decide what selection of meat I wanted. I decided to get two steaks and one shrimp. Overall it was cooked well and I did enjoy the side of green beans. You can pick what sides you want so if you don't enjoy green beans pick something else. When visiting family in Brea, Olive Pit is always one of the stops for dinner. We usually do take out, but the patio area with heaters and the indoor area look very nice. There's a parking garage across the street, so you shouldn't have any issue. But the food! We usually just do the kabob dinners. Everything is awesome. The salads, the pitas, the veggies, the rice... two thumbs up. The chicken kabobs are awesome. Crazy to say I prefer the chicken to the steak and shrimp, but the chicken is always cooked to perfection and the marinade has awesome flavors. Recommend. 2 people could easily split the 3 piece kabob. And for the little bit extra, just get the extra kabob- even if it's to take home. read more

I was prepared to hate this place with all my willful might, but it's really nice, and I recommend it. The service is very good, and even though it was quite busy when we came on a weekday evening, our appetizer and entrees came out very quickly. It seems to be one of the few restaurants these days with enough employees at all levels, so we didn't have to wait for anything, and our server was always in the vicinity in case we needed to flag her down. (We didn't.) She was a pro throughout. Her station filled and filled, but it didn't slow her down one bit. As more and more people were seated, I thought the noise would get bad. It did increase, but there's something about all the booths and half-walls and strange roomlets that seems to tamp it down. The outdoor seating area looks lovely. It's large and completely covered, and I don't think any part of it faces the street. There are quite a view vegetarian options on the menu, and I loved what I had--although I forgot what it was. Sorry! There's free parking in the multistory structure right behind the restaurant. If you park there, don't bother trying to find the front entrance of Olive Pit; just enter from the back and look for the host podium. You'll be seated in no time. read more
