This is one of my favorite restaurants in the area indefinitely my favorite Greek restaurant. I have a tendency to always order the same thing. Here my go to is usually the lamb Jairo or the lamb chops but lately I've been trying to try different things. I am happy I chose to do this as I have found items that I have loved that I just hadn't tried. I had this year tuna one day and it was really good. It was perfectly cooked and it had a good sauce but the one item that I was honestly surprised was the half roasted chicken. I tend not to order chicken at restaurants because I am worried that the chicken will be dry, but that was definitely not the case here. The chicken was really good and I will definitely get it again. My boyfriend tried it and he wanted to switch dishes, but I absolutely did not allow him to. The chicken was just very juicy and tender. For the sides, I used to always get hummus, but I didn't know that they had an eggplant dip similar to baba ghanoush. Now that I have tried it, it is my go to. You can really taste a roasted eggplant in there and the texture is similar to hummus. My other go to side are the artichoke hearts because they are so big they are roasted and it's a good portion. Overall this remains to be one of my favorite restaurants in the area and I will be back. read more

The Olive pit is a local favorite when I'm in Brea. Girls shopping day ended with an early dinner here. My favorite is the grilled chicken entree with basmati rice and Mediterranean salad. Ordered a side of hummus for the table. The service was good, food came to the table at a reasonable time, refills were offered. We waiting a bit for the check and to request boxes a while after we were done eating. None the less, we enjoyed our dinner and would definitely come back. read more

This Greek spot in Orange County has decent Mediterranean cuisine. The dolmades are alright, but the sauce could be better. The spanakopita is mediocre, not remotely as good as what our family makes at home. But the Feta Fries are incredible! That's my best recommendation here! The lamb dishes and various kabobs are also pretty good. The restaurant is in a great location in the heart of downtown Brea, and the service is excellent! Brought our relatives her for lunch. Short walk from the parking lot to the entrance. Dining area was clean, bright and welcoming. Decor is very modern with nice throw pillows on the bench seatings. My wife and her sister said it was very comfortable. Service was excellent and very helpful and friendly. We shared an appetizer of fried zucchini which was served hot and was delicious. I ordered the sirloin steak plate with basmati rice and fried artichoke hearts. My wife ordered the steak kabob with sides of Mediterranean salad and grilled vegetables. Although the Olive Pit is in busy Downtown Brea, there's a parking structure right behind the restaurant, so parking is a breeze. They have a very nice patio area as well as spacious and stylish indoor seating. It was a bit windy today, so we chose to sit inside. There are both tables and half table half booth seating, and the booths are very homey and comfortable in that the backs are lined with an assortment of throw pillows. Our server today, Chris, was one of the best servers we've had in a while. He didn't make us feel rushed, checked on us regularly, was very personable, and just had a great sense of humor. My friend ordered the margarita flat bread and thoroughly enjoyed it. The crust was thin and crispy and the toppings were generous without being too heavy to weigh down the crust. I had the lamb gyro wrap and upgraded to feta fries for my side. The feta fries had a very generous amount of cheese and was really good. The lamb and veggies in the wrap were nicely proportioned, but it could have used more of a dressing or spread to tie it together better. It was an enjoyable visit thanks to Chris. The food was filling, so we didn't have room for dessert, but I have my eye on the baklava ice cream when we return! read more

Located near downtown Brea, this place is great if you're looking for a spot with good ambiance. Initially, they quoted our group 30 minutes for a table, but we ended up getting seated in about 10 minutes. The inside is nice and there's decent amount of seating. Once we got seated, we looked at the menu and we all ordered. The wife and I split the beef kabob as well as the lamb plate. The beef kabob was good and the sides were all good too. The lamb was alright, but my wife liked it. It's a 4/5 stars for me because for the price, it's a tad pricey for what you get. I've had better Mediterranean food for less near where I live. Not a bad choice by any means, but definitely have had better. Worth checking out though if you're in the area! read more

Olive Pit was solid across the board. OCTOPUS: 4/5. So tender and packed with flavor. FETA FRIES: 5/5. Perfectly crispy. SO addictive. FRIED ZUCCHINI: 4/5. Me and my friends were looking at pictures of the food and it looked delicious so we gave it a try. Did not disappoint one bit!! There is a huge parking structure out back so plenty of parking available. You're able to access the restaurant through the patio and it's located right next to a UFC gym. Indoor and outdoor seating is available and the decor is very beautiful. We ordered the calamari, spanakopita (spinach & feta pie), grilled lamb kebab, and grilled chicken entree. The lemon aioli for the calamari was amazing, I couldn't stop eating it. The spanakopita was decent but a little dry in the middle. We ordered medium for the lamb and it was nice and pink, with the perfect chew. The kebabs and entrees come with 2 sides, I definitely recommend their hummus , especially the melitzanosalata (eggplant hummus). Regular hummus was more beany while the melitzanosalata was on the sour side and packed more of a punch. The chicken was a bit dry but had good flavor. Overall, service was amazing and the food was pretty good! Fully enjoyed the meal and would definitely be back to try other dishes and the house made hummus. read more

Joined my friend for lunch here and it was packed from about 1-3pm! We shared the calamari and the loaded fries. Calamari was tasty and crispy with the dipping sauce, the fries were a little too soggy for us, it came in a Togo box. I had the ground lamb mossaka which was huge and so flavorful, and my friend had the grilled shrimp plate with mushrooms and tzatziki. We finished with tiramisu, non traditional style, tasted like a tiramisu mousse, they put kanef at the bottom though it wasn't crunchy. And the biscuits on top. It was okay, I probably would opt for something different next time. (We sat outside (the chairs were a tad hard to get in and out of and were definitely weather worn.) Service was prompt and friendly. Came by here for a late dinner around 9:00 after the gym since it's right next door. The menu has quite a few options so it was hard to decide, but ended up with the lamb kabob with artichoke hearts and fries, and the grilled octopus. The lamb kabob was okay, kind of chewy and a bit hard to eat but it did come with grilled veggies on the skewer. The fries were good, some were a little hard but came with a large portion. By far my favorite items were the artichoke heart and the octopus. The artichokes were fried and crispy on the outside but soft in the middle, and the octopus was also very tender and came with pickled veg on the side. Our waitress was also super nice and the service was great; she said her favorite dish was the lamb gyro which I would like to try next. Was in the area, and this spot caught my eye on Yelp! They have three types of dining areas: main dining room, bar area, and lots of outdoor patio seating on two sides of the restaurant. The patio dining seemed to be a very popular choice! The main dining room was full at the time, but we wanted to sit indoors, so we ended up sitting at a regular table located in the bar area--it did get a bit noisy, but it wasn't too bad. We started off with the Fried Asparagus. It comes served in a mug with a lemon-garlic aioli on the side. I liked that it was crispy, and I enjoyed the flavor of the aioli! For our entrees, I got the Filet of Sole. They give a pretty sizable piece of fish! It comes with Latholemeno sauce and two small bites. There are three different price points for the sides, but it seems like you can choose any two from the list! I opted for roasted mushrooms and stewed green beans with tomato and basil. I enjoyed the mushrooms, but the green beans were just ok. They also give three pieces of pita bread. I also tried some of the Pastitsio, a "Greek Style" lasagna, with stewed feef, tomato, Kefalograviera cheese, bechamel. The presentation on the plate almost looks like a giant burrito! The cheese and bechamel make it extra rich and creamy. I enjoyed this, but I would definitely recommend sharing since it's on the heavier side. We've been visiting quite frequently and each time, I look forward to coming back. We love the food - highly recommend the fried zucchini. It is probably my favorite item on the menu and I would have been happy with just that. We also try new things here and there but continue to gravitate back. We like getting the steak entree, paired with their rice (so good!) and tzatziki. Sometimes, we do the trio dip which we get hummus, eggplant and the tzatziki. The options are endless here, and nothing has disappointed. For the most part, service has been good! Once in awhile, its a hit or miss. Know they also have a great happy hour but the times never work out for us. Overall, what's really stopping us from coming back every day is that the food can get pretty pricey! I've been here twice, once a while back. I had a chicken wrap and it was pretty good. It tasted like a wrap from Luna Grill but just a bit of an upgrade, but it could've been better. The service here is great. The staff is so kind and responsive. They also let us in like 30 minutes before closing and didn't rush us to leave when the kitchen closed and they started locking up. This place is located right next to the UFC gym. There is a FREE parking in the parking structure located to the rear of the location. This is a nice sit down restaurant with good tasting food. My friends and I meet for lunch here several times a year. The staff is always friendly and the food is consistently very good. And there is a nice free parking lot right behind the restaurant. I've tried many items from the menu. I've gotten the chicken kabobs, the roasted chicken and chicken breast. The hummus and eggplant are very good dips that go well with the chicken. Many choices for sides and I have not chosen a bad one yet! I am partial to their grilled veggies and potato options though. The restaurant can get busy on weekends and peek hours so I tend to do early dinners or late lunches and usually don't have a wait at that time. Go on and give this place a try! read more

If that lot is full there is are two other structures that are not too far of a walk away as well. Inside, the restaurant was neat and clean. The center set of tables have a couch with real pillows on one side and regular chairs on the other side. // Notes: Yes, it is pricey, but the food is pretty good. I would not come here if I was craving Mediterranean food, as that's what Little Arabia in Anaheim is for, but if you are looking for a solid sit down meal, this spot is not a bad choice. read more

One of the best spots for quality Mediterranean food in OC. We have been going to the Olive Pit for 5+ years & the food has always been consistently excellent as well as service. The interior & exterior of this location is clean & you can tell the owners/staff take pride of their restaurant. We've had plenty of the variety of dishes they have to offer from the kabob plates to the flatbread pizza and everything in between. My top personal favorite dishes/apps to order would be the zucchini & the chicken/lamb gyro flatbread wraps. I also absolutely love their tzatziki & their avgolemono soup. My husband loves their stewed green beans & their lamb gyro plate. The portion sizes are great, the perfect amount that you can finish without feeling gluttonous after a meal. As a group we shared the 3 dip plate opting for the hummus, eggplant, and tzatziki. We were very happy with our choices. The chicken kabobs were super flavorful and tender and I loved the rocka salad. I subbed feta cheese and think that was a good choice! The artichoke was only ok. Extremely disappointed with the service we received at Olive Pit. The manager working the lunch shift today was incredibly rude and made us feel completely unwelcome... I was in utter disbelief at her behavior! While we were still sitting in our booth socializing with an out of town guest after our meal, she came over and asked if we needed anything else, only to immediately tell us we had to leave because "someone was waiting" for the booth. The strange part was that the restaurant was practically empty, with multiple open tables and booths available both inside and outside. Instead of handling the situation professionally, we felt rushed out for no reason. Customer service and basic hospitality clearly were not a priority here. It felt unnecessary and honestly pretty rude, especially after we had just spent money there and were simply enjoying time with family/friends. Hospitality goes beyond serving food, and the way this situation was handled left a bad impression. Tender and well seasoned. PLEASE, order a side of pita bread to finish the sauce in which the octopus is played on 10/10. The portion for the grilled octopus was very generous as well as the French fries. I also got a chicken wrap with a side of humus. 10/10 Service was slow.
