I've hired nannies through this agency over the last 14 years and we've finally outgrown the need for a nanny. There was one short stint where I tried another agency and it just didn't work. Terrible service. They are not only rude and unhelpful- once you are placed they could care less about the nanny. Had a family that took advantage of me and then let me go. When I reached out to them they could care less. They got their placement fee and thats all that really mattered to them. I would regularly mark that I was interested in families but could tell they were no longer sending my profile out as they never emailed about interviews. I directly contacted them several times asking why they were ignoring my emails and profile and Angela responded that since I shared on a huge thread with families and nannies about Olive You and had a hard time since they would never respond to me, that that meant I no longer wanted jobs with them. Um, no..it means that I was right about my profile being ignored since they found time to respond to one comment on FB but to none of my emails. Had Angela the coordinator tell me that families "shyed away" from my profile once seeing my photo. Apparently they only really want to represent white nannies of a certain "look". Really really disappointing experience. **Edit to add- moments after posting this Angela texted, called, voicemailed, etc in response to this review. The audacity that she has to blow up my phone "sad" about my comments but could NOT reply or respond to help after being taken advatage of by the family who dumped me and couldn't offer up any further assistance but the second a review is made- suddenly all of my contact information is hit up. I have worked with two other nanny agencies, and this was the worst experience I have ever had. We contracted Oliveyou four months ago and just found a nanny. There was a 4-5 week lapse in communication where the owner was MIA and then tried to blame the lack of communication on us. I had to follow up for responses repeatedly. The invoice was nearly $1700 over the expected and originally agreed-upon price. I considered legal action but decided not to because I wanted the relationship to end. Poor and defensive communication, lack of care for the families, and lack of seriousness or accountability for the poor service. I don't recommend this place to anyone in the Greater Boston area. read more

We had an awesome experience working with Olive You to find a nanny/house manager. After our initial intake call we quickly had several profiles of qualified candidates to review. I interviewed several people for the position before choosing the best fit for our family, but honestly all of the candidates we met with were great and well-qualified for the role. I started looking for a nanny job in August of 2023 and have applied to 2 different agencies, I would always contact them about the job postings but never got any responses. Until I've met with Angela on Oct. 20, 2023 through a video interview, and ever since then I have never felt ignore, she would constantly send me profiles of families looking for a nanny and if I'm interested she would send my profile and wait for families decision. GIANT WASTE of time and money. The service doesn't have a very good source of nanny's. So they send mediocre candidates and push them on you and make you feel rushed like you're wasting their time, when they are just wasting yours. We tried to be accommodating and selected a nanny that didn't meet any of the criteria we provided, and she was from a smoking household. Olive.You. Do you want to straight-up lose several thousand dollars? If not, read this post before working with Sarah Davis at Olive You Nanny. I hired a nanny through Olive You Nanny, paid 4k for the placement. Sarah Davis in Austin, Tx was my point of contact the entire time. Sarah didn't ever find a proper placement for me and has kept my money. I've made multiple attempts to reach her to resolve and have been met with silence. Essentially, after giving me only four nannies to interview initially, and rushing me through the interview process saying nannies are "going fast", I selected a nanny that could travel with our family. It was a disaster. - Nanny C had back problems, was repeatedly crying while on the job about her back and at times I did not know what. - Nanny C was late every day but two days for several weeks straight before I had to address it with her (creating a conflict since the nanny was not happy to be asked to be on time, although I was very kind about it.) - When I called Sarah to discuss my concerns, she was dismissive "it takes time to adjust" and comments of the like, to "encourage" me to continue on with Nanny C. - (Meanwhile one of the nannies I had interviewed but not hired initially touched base, asking me what was wrong - why didn't we hire her? I explained that her asking rate was too high ($35-40/hr), and she told me Sarah told her that's what we WANTED to pay a nanny, so that's what she asked us for. Essentially she was being told we were wanting to pay something we didn't want - so that we would pony up to a rate we weren't ever budgeting for. We were looking to hire in the 25-30 range, but also open to determining what's appropriate depending on experience and what the market dictates as well. (I had felt all along that Sarah was trying to up the hourly rate, and after asking around no one I knew was paying above 30.) - Nanny C was not engaging with our daughter fully, reluctant to take her outdoors in the mornings, and generally sluggish, using many hours in the day to make meals for herself and eat our food. (We don't mind a nanny eating our food, but when she comes late morning, hungry, and uses that as an excuse to not take our daughter on outings, that's a little much. - Nanny C gave our daughter cold sores after refusing to wear a mask, saying it would cause her cold sores to not heal properly. - Almost every work day there was a problem in her life and a reason she had to be late, needed some last-minute delayed start. I was spending several hours a week dealing with her problems trying to help her problem solve, while dealing with the stress her general apathetic behavior was causing our household - rather than being a help, she was a burden to us. - Nanny C wasn't looking at her hours, and accused me of not paying her. I cleared it up and she retracted her accusation, but the sentiment was hostile and I asked that she leave the following day, paying for her travel expenses back. I let Sarah know it didn't work out and that it was a really awful experience, and she promised to help me find a new placement, but after over a month of no progress, I began to look for other options. I got over 60 applicants through other sources! Keep looking - Olive You Nanny is NOT your only option and should NOT even be considered as a last resort. Fast forward, and I have hired an EXCELLENT nanny, a former Montessori teacher that can travel, is early to work, has excellent work ethic and not entitled. She comes with such high qualifications, we are so happy to be in a mutually beneficial exchange with her! It's such a pleasure to work with this young lady! She is well worth the 30/hr pay plus benefits (2 weeks paid vacation, 6 paid sick days, monthly health stipend, paid holidays, etc). In the end, Sarah Davis has completely ignored me and any requests of a refund. She's not only been unprofessional throughout, she's deceptive, will tell you anything to get you to sign up with a nanny, pay up quickly, while creating a false belief that nannies are SCARCE but if you go elsewhere you will find they are abundant and many options that can work for your family. Jamye is trouble. Jamye called my wife, and then myself, to tell us that our current nanny (she's been with us for 2 years and our son always appears happy with her) has been verbally and physically abusing our son regularly. I asked her for specific examples and her answers reflected similar parenting styles of ours which we did not have issue with...Further, Jamye explained having pictures & videos of the abuse but later retracted when we asked her to share the evidence with us. All the while, Jamye was speaking of her 25+ years of experience in child care & attempted to "sell" or introduce another nanny to us (who is employed by Jamye's client and regularly in our home) with greed at the core of her gimmick. My wife and I were initially heartbroken and distraught about this information. We believe Jamye and were shocked. The story did not make sense. We called several businesses where our nanny and Jamye's posse frequently visit (with the children) to see if anyone saw our nanny mistreating our son...Nothing developed and all said wonderful things about our nanny. Jamye's tactic here was to "sell" us another nanny (who is currently working for another client of hers) to make a little money. I would avoid her at all costs and cannot understand how she remains employed by this company seeing other similar greed-filled behavior in these reviews. I unfortunately had a unproductive experience with Olive You Nanny. I know two people who have used this service with success,however, that was many years ago. The first person I was paired with was very disorganized (she cancelled our meeting because she forgot she had to pick the kids she nannied for up from school). Needless to say that's not a great start to begin the conversation on what I'm looking for in a caregiver. The second woman I spoke to was a bit more organized but did not listen to our families needs (she continued to send resumes for candidates that did not drive or indicated they did not want to work for a family if the parents worked remotely). I was luckily able to find a wonderful caregiver through another agency with a better business model. As a Nanny, Olive You Nanny (Sarah, the owner) is easily one of the worst and most unprofessional agencies I've ever worked with. I'm a well-qualified Nanny with over five years of professional experience, and I had to pull teeth to get a response from her throughout working together, eventually giving up and moving on. Sarah does not return phone calls, will cancel on you last minute, and make it really time consuming and difficult to reschedule. Not only that, but her approach, though not unkind, is extremely unprofessional. Overall, if you're looking for an agency to find a job through or a Nanny, I've learned over time that the only agencies worth your time (and hard-earned money) are the ones that have an established office in a retail/office building. Unless you're the family paying them and they come to your home, any agency that wants you to meet at a Starbucks or other public places are usually poor in service and don't really have your best interest. I've had a few contacts with olive you nanny since 2015. The first was with Claire who was initially very helpful and communicated professionally. As a nanny for 9 years, I figured I'd have no issues finding a position. I was sent on two interviews; one of which didn't seemed to be a good fit and one within 24 hours decided to hire their past nanny. Again, not Olive You Nanny's fault. Afterward communication died. They kept positing awesome jobs and I would try to get in for an interview with no luck. The owner kindly emailed me and apologized for this lack of professionalism. This was beyond appreciated. Cut to present time, I decided to reach out to Jamie for some jobs I was interested in. This is the second time I've tried to contact her with no luck. No emails or updates of letting me know that maybe these positions were filled, I wasn't good a fit, etc as I know these are valid reasons. As someone with excellent experience and references, I will take go to another agency. Although I'm sure they are great to families, I have been treated very unfairly and unprofessionally at the Chicago office recently. Very disappointed. I only give this agency two stars because of the owner taking proper actions and made sure to email me to discuss my concerns. read more

I really can't say enough good things about Olive You Nanny, specifically Jenna. She truly went above and beyond to help our family find the right nanny. First, Jenna came to our home to speak with us in person about what we were looking for in a nanny and get a sense for our personality. While the description on paper of your perfect nanny can point you in the right direction, at the end of the day it's a sixth sense connection between you and the nanny that makes it the right fit. After meeting face to face, Jenna sent 3 or 4 resumes of potential candidates for me to review and decide whether to bring them in for an interview. I really appreciated Jenna taking the time to write a short paragraph on why she thought each candidate would be a good fit. It demonstrated that she is very thoughtful about the matching process to not waste the nanny's time or the family's time. Furthermore, Jenna followed up with me over the phone after the interviews to gather my feedback on what I liked and what I didn't like about each of the candidates so that she could then identify additional candidates that could be "the one." We had demanding specifications (50+ hours a week in addition to 1 overnight a week), and Jenna persevered to identify candidates that would be good for the position. Second, when we got into negotiations with a nanny, Jenna acted as the mediator to understand what terms were important to the nanny and helping us to structure an offer that was comfortable to us and the nanny. Jenna worked tirelessly to reach a compromise on both sides. As it was my first time going through the nanny search process, I really appreciated Jenna's perspective when I had questions about what to expect in the interviews and how to handle doing a trial. Olive You Nanny is the perfect place for parents that don't have time to screen countless resumes, perform background checks and personally check all references (of course you want to check some of the person you ultimately hire, but not necessarily everyone you interview). The agency also makes sure that the nannies are legal residents. Using the agency saves a ton of time, and I highly recommend them. read more

When it was time to find a nanny for our toddler daughter, my anxiety level was sky-high. Finding someone you trust, who's great with your kids -- and also with parents -- is no small feat and Olive.You.Nanny truly delivered. First off, I should say that I contacted three local agencies that had been recommended to me. One never called me back. Another told me that my part-time schedule needs would be too hard to accommodate and suggested I look elsewhere. Claire from Olive.You.Nanny called me back the same day and I was immediately impressed with how friendly, calm, and professional she was. The first step in their process, which, to my knowledge, none of the other agencies I've researched do, was that Claire actually came to our home to meet our family. This in itself puts them ahead of the game, because they know you and can keep that in mind when meeting with potential candidates. Like all parents, we had some specific wants on our wishlist (part-time schedule, someone cool with a work from home parent, infant/toddler experience, early childhood education background, and, ideally, a great sense of humor). Claire listened, got to know my daughter, and was very clear and upfront about how long the matching process might take (in our case a few weeks), which I appreciated. She quickly began interviewing candidates, keeping me updated throughout the process. While we had a couple setbacks -- one promising candidate ended up returning to her former nanny family, another had an issue getting the flu shot, which we required given that we will have a newborn in the house soon) -- Claire kept me informed about the whole process and was extremely responsive to all my questions and emails. I specifically remember one day she let me know she was interviewing a candidate that afternoon, who she hoped would be someone I could then interview. After her meeting, she let me know that unfortunately that person was not a good match. I mention this because while it was, of course, a little disappointing, it really impressed upon me how hard Olive.You.Nanny works to send parents good fits for the family rather than just sending anyone who happens to be in their pool. In our case, the wait was worth it. Our current nanny is absolutely wonderful! Very sweet and loving with my daughter, extremely experienced, professional, energetic, funny, and very easygoing, which is the perfect fit for our family. She always leaves our home cleaner than when she arrived and I'm so glad to have her onboard! Throughout the hiring process and still now, Claire has been available to answer any questions I have about nanny-related stuff. She's been a great guide and we cannot thank her enough for getting to know our family and finding our wonderful nanny!! Sarah is exceptional! I initially met with Sarah after having moved to Chicago almost three years ago. I am an Early Childhood Education student, and a nanny, and was looking for a position. I had researched several nanny agencies in the Chicago area, and decided on Olive You Nanny as well as another nanny agency to begin my search. I met with Sarah Davis and left the interview feeling confident, encouraged, and relaxed. Sarah seemed to truly understand the kind of position I was looking for, the kind of nanny I am, and what kinds of families might be a good fit for me. She was so warm; she listened to me; she was professional; she was exactly the kid of person I wanted to work with. On the contrary, the other interview I went on, with a representative from a different nanny agency, was DREADFUL. The interview felt hurried and rushed; I did not feel as though the person interviewing me cared at all about what I wanted, but was more concerned with how fast she could write everything down. After she asked me all of her "routine" questions, she said she would be in touch, and I never heard from her. I have now been a nanny for three years, and have worked for three different families. Sarah placed me with a phenomenal family who I nannied for all of last year. Sadly, they moved in the beginning of the summer, and I was instantly in touch with Sarah as I searched for a new position. Since then, I have found two new positions and I couldn't be happier! I whole heartedly recommend Sarah Davis and Olive You Nanny agency to any nanny who is looking for a position for a great family. Olive You Nanny was a complete waste of time and money. Sarah was great to work with at first. Coming to our home to meet with us and getting a clear picture of what we were looking for. Unfortunately I think Sarah just sent over who she happened to have available and not the best nannies. The nanny that we chose through Olive You Nanny, and then paid the $1850 placement fee, quit abruptly after three weeks (she simply did not want to be a nanny and I ran into her the next week working at Nordstrom which is a different story for a different day). Needing child care I emailed Sarah who set up two interviews during the week, even when I asked for other candidates, and ultimately chose the best of those two candidates. That nanny told me after she was hired that she had a dog she needed to walk daily (um, I am paying you to take care of my toddler and soon to be newborn, how is that going to work?) She then made several poor judgment calls the first week when I was home (like not giving my son water when he was asking for it and deciding to walk the previously mentioned dog during my son's afternoon nap time). I called and emailed Sarah but did not hear back from her. Worried about the way the nanny was caring for my son when I was around I could not trust her to care for him when I eventually (finally!) had to go back to work and had to let her go. I was happy to pay for Olive You Nanny's service in order to make the process easier and more convenient. In the end the process was anything but easy and I had to take too many days off of work and I'm out almost $2,000 and no child care. Even after asking for a refund, even a partial refund, I was told no refunds at all. read more

She has the nerve to withhold information about nannies and covers it up with niceties and eloquent wording so it seems she is helping you but in actuality does not. I am a nanny of 7 years and have attempted to work with this agency on multiple occasions...key word, ATTEMPTED. So far, I have had little to no success with even getting to the interview process mainly due to their placement coordinators being inflexible about meeting hours and areas. My most recent experience is with Jamie. While I am not aware if her business practices mirror her personality, she has been one of the most unprofessional coordinators that I have worked with, recently scheduling a business call with me then standing me up. When I confronted her of the issue, very politely might I add, she dismissed me as a client by saying "I don't have any families at the moment -- please check our website job board for available positions." When just two days prior, she told me that she had two positions in mind for placement. While also never acknowledging her wrong doing or apologizing for her poor business etiquette. As a professional, I don't appreciate being mistreated then dismissed for being upset about having my time wasted. This is obviously not an agency that is for the nanny, or maybe even the family from experiences that I've heard about. Is the fee you charge worth burning bridges with professionals that can give your company more credibility or bestowing stress upon families that have life altering experiences due to lack of concern of their long term well being? She came to our home and said all the right things..."we have a pool of known nannies all CPR certified, etc.".... pretended to listen to what we were looking for, etc. Then she starts sending over random nannies who admitted that they didn't know the agency and had just been in contact with Olive You Nanny for the first time and didn't fit our requirements.. None of them were CPR certified, but "we had the option" to pay to get them certified. Basically all Olive You Nanny really does is run a background check which you can do yourself for many applicants for much less than $1,500 We finally decided on a young European woman. Huge mistake as she totally gamed us. We were home with her the first 2 weeks and she quit after three. She claimed she was offended that we didn't trust her enough to leave her alone with our two and a half year old and 6 month old immediately...of course not, really? Then we ended up finding out that she took another job with a family who happened to live next to a friend of ours and had been talking to them all along (we wanted someone 3 days a week, but they were offering 5 days a week). This is after Olive You Nanny emphasized that this girl was looking for a 3 day a week job. End result is that we were out of $1,500 within 3 weeks. Horrible! read more

I am a working mom of two young children. I recently used Olive.You.Nanny to find a full time nanny for our family and had a wonderful experience. We have found two previous nannies through online sites and had decent success; however, this time we were looking for an exceptional nanny who would meet all of our needs. I actually contacted three Chicago and suburb-based nanny agencies and I found Olive.You.Nanny to be far superior to the other agencies. Claire came out to my home to meet with me and met my kids (the other agencies did not) and she was very sweet and definitely "got" who we were looking to hire. Another agency sent me many nannies that did not fit the profile of the nanny I was looking for while Claire only sent those who met my criteria. As a busy working mom I found this aspect to be not only time saving but refreshing as it meant that they were really hoping to match our family and not just take my money. Claire worked with me (taking calls at all hours!) to handle the negotiations and helped us make sure that our nanny was going to be happy with our family as well. We are beyond thrilled with our nanny and (most importantly!) my children are over the moon about her as well. I have worked as a professional nanny/House manager for many years. I am always professional and expect that from a company in return. I went on an interview and no one showed up. Also, the hours in the postion I applied for changed once speaking with agency. Poorly run company. I am usually a person who gives postive reviews because I feel as though negative ones are more likely to be written. But unfortunately this company rubbed me the wrong way. I'm sorry to say that Olive You Nanny fell short of the mark for my family, If you are looking for part time nanny care, then this is not the agency to go to. After meeting with the representative, I was told they would have candidates within a few days. Then I heard nothing from them for a week. Then a message saying they were still looking. The next week, I emailed them, offering some flexibility in case it would make their search easier. I received a tepid response (still looking!) and then nothing for two weeks. I finally emailed them saying that I was really disappointed in their service (the lack of contact was appalling) and that I would be looking elsewhere. I received a somewhat rude response blaming me for "reducing the number of hours" I was offering (not true, and apparently a problem, though it was the first I heard about it). I have one very easy going toddler that I needed part time care for. Hours were flexible, though there were occasional weekend and evening hours that needed to be covered. This was not a particularly challenging situation for any care provider. Unfortunately, Olive You Nanny was not up to the task. The lack of feedback and basic communication was also disappointing. I was left with the impression that this was not a very dedicated or professionally run organization. I do have a friend who found a full time nanny through them who is fantastic, but they were told upfront that they wouldn't get anyone good if they were looking for part time help, which is a little shady. Olive You Nanny gets paid a higher fee for finding a full time person rather than a part time one. If you want to find someone quickly or reliably, the I recommend going elsewhere. read more
