5/28/25 purchased a $11,000 built-in refrigerator over the phone because we have purchased so many appliances from Oliver Dyers over the years we didn't need to go in. It was a replacement and we'd done business before. Mistake #1 because this can't possibly be the same people we have worked with. 6/23/25 first service call the ice was coming out in chips. Service person said over freezing. Nothing can be done 9/23/25 requested new appointment for same issue because all I could get was white chipped ice. 10/2/25 Terry was fantastic. He Knew it was a freezing issue. He figured out what was needed and would return 10/16. 10/16/25 appointment got canceled Terry not coming Guinco taking over. 10/21/25 New evaluation Whirlpool says try this. By this time we realized the freezer was actually defrosting during the day. Ice was melting that's why it came out in chips. We started tracking temperature with digital thermometers. Once a day the freezer reached 40 degrees. 11/7/25 New evaluation we need a new board and condenser fan. At this point I called the store. Sonya was very understanding and sympathetic. I asked for an exchange. She explained mgr just went on vacation. I called her back on 11/10 and apologized for being upset on previous called and confirmed I wanted an exchange. She said he would call me 11/14. No call. I called the store again on 11/17 to be told he was busy. She again said he would call me. No call. I called and got him at the very end of the day. Harry was not nice. Harry spoke poorly about his service people. I asked him to let me have a working refrigerator for the holidays he said "that ain't happening" He said he "loved us" for being a previous customer but it's out of his hands. So once it's sold he really doesn't care. He got his $11249.85 11/17/25 They canceled appointment. Moved to 11/20 11/20/25 The board didn't get approved but he brought a fan. Still doesn't work no fridge for Thanksgiving 12/2/25 They tell us to fill freezer with water bottles to determine what's parts of the freezer are freezing. After Spending 2 days on the phone with whirlpool I did receive a partial refund. Harry got to keep the sales tax and delivery fee. It's 1/12/2026 I still don't have a refrigerator because they are on back order. I bought the same one but obviously at a different store with guaranteed customer service up front. read more

I came in to buy a new oven and worked with Ben. I was having to go back and forth deciding the model and Ben stayed patient. He helped me select one that fit what I was looking for and took very good care of everything. I even changed my mind after ordering the first one for a less expensive one and Ben made the change and credited me the difference which was significant. In my opinion, they do not stand behind the appliances they sell or help you once you've purchased the product even after purchasing an extended warranty. If I could leave 0 stars, I would. I purchased an electric stove from Oliver Dyer's on January 11th and decided to pay an additional $65 for delivering install. The tech installed it, but did not level it correctly. I contacted them the following day to inform them of the issue. I was told I would receive a call from him the following day. A couple days later, I received a call from the installer stating that he would stop by the next morning. I foolishly canceled my scheduled engagement to accommodate him. He was a no-show the following day. No text, no call, nothing. I have not heard from him since then. I do not recommend purchasing the install fee because it won't be installed correctly. I was in the market to purchase a dishwasher and decided on a Maytag dishwasher. However based on the current market situations, I was having a hard time finding the particular model I was looking for. I checked with several big box stores close to me and they advised me that they would have to order the particular dishwasher and could not give me an estimated delivery date. In addition, their installation charges were quite significant. I purchased appliances from this store years ago and decided I would give them a call and talked to a salesman named Ben. Horrible customer service. I ordered a part almost a month and half ago. I called last weekend and they told me it never arrived. I called again today and asked for a refund and then magically they claim they called and messaged me saying the part had arrived. I checked my call logs and messages and nothing. Do NOT use this Company! A couple of months ago, they sent a Repairman (J.D.) out to look @ my Maytag Dryer. He said it needed a new Control Board. He then filled out his Invoice on his Tablet and gave it to me to sign. While I was signing -- J.D. PASSED OUT on my Kitchen Floor!! That's right, unconscious on my Floor. What a DISASTER! I SHOULD have called 911 -- but I called the Company instead. They said "Don't let him leave," and that they were sending someone from their location to my house. That did not happen. J.D. came to, made a phone call, and got in his Van and left... I called back and asked that my $86.00 Service Call be Refunded back onto my Card. They declined to do this. We bought a refrigerator from them in 2014 when we moved to Fort Worth. We bought a Frigidaire brand that they recommended. We started having problems with it from the beginning. We asked them to return the refrigerator and they refused. We asked them to warranty it through Frigidaire, they refused to help and basically told us to do the warranty on our own. Horrible horrible customer service. Now the appliance is 7 years old and has to be replaced. We are fuming mad! We are now buying all of our appliances at Texas Appliance. Our 23 yr old GE Profile double oven finally needed to be replaced, and Oliver Dyer's was the first business that came to mind. We've purchased several major appliances there in the past, and their customer service was exemplary. Our salesman Reagan was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. Prices were comparable to ones we had priced in the "larger" stores, and when we found the perfect oven, they had it in stock in their warehouse and quickly brought it over so we could see the color in person. This is my first review on YELP - and I hate for it to be negative. That stated, I have done business directly, or with my family for the past 30 years. I have always recommended them until now. I have been paying for an appliance repair that has taken them almost 90 days to throw their hands in the air. I have wasted MY $$$ and my time and I have been nothing but patient. I was not satisfied with the work the technician provided. This was due to the multiple visits, and intervals of time in their response to repair or correct errors created by oversight from the technician on each (the initial and subsequent) repair jobs. The cascade of cost was ultimately the stake through the heart. Simply put - my refrigerator was broken when I called them, but ironically it worked better before the repair work began and then when it ultimately ended. What stated as thermostat and computer board became three additional thermostats, a heating element, and last would have been an additional (~) $1700 (~) job to repair either (or both) the condenser, the cooling line and replace coolant. I have edited this a large degree since my first post as I spoke with management. They had disappointed me in the lat 90 days do to some communication and technical issues, but the store manager did make giant strides to assist and make correct any issue I was having. That stated we could not reach a place of common ground. Nonetheless I needed to delete the text that contained my vitriol. I think they can still do better. Our Kitchen-Aid oven decided to have all sort of issues and was rather defiant in the repair process. After wasting much time with Choice home warranty, we contacted Oliver Dyer. From the start, they were honest and upfront about realistic expectation for parts (given COVID) and cost. They never tried to sell us BS. Much appreciated! Our technician, Steve, was awesome! He was prompt, professional, & worked his you know what off fixing our oven. Thank-you Steve for using your Superman strength and somehow managing to get the very uncooperative convection fan out of the back of the oven. My DS and DIL recommended that we go to Oliver Dyer for a new fridge, as we just moved to Fort Worth from CA. Martin was our salesman and was very helpful and accommodating to our needs. We found exactly what we wanted out in the back Scratch and Dent Area. They were good with their website advertising -- find a dent and get a $100 discount. It's always good to be able to save some money, especially on a big ticket item. The delivery was prompt and timely and the setup was just as good. Our delivery guy found a problem with our water line, and a plumber was actually at our house at the time and fixed it. Perfect. All was set up and we are so happy. We will be loyal customers of Oliver Dyer. In fact, we're getting a washer from there in two weeks! read more

Do not use for Repair service, all they do is take the $100.00 call out fee and try and sell you a new unit. I requested service online through their website, I provided the model and serial number and a description of the problem. I got a call the day before to verify time of appointment and was asked a few more clarifying questions. Tech showed up in the scheduled window, walked up to the washer, spun the drum and said it would be about $800 to fix, better off getting a new unit. But good news is that if I went to the store, they would take the $100 off of a new unit. He was in my house a total of 5 minutes and that included running my card. Seems a little sketchy when the OEM parts from Whirlpool are only $150, i guess it is a 10 hour job. I will not use OD for anything and will tell everyone I know how bad the experience was. I have used OD's for years. Never again. A washing machine repair turned into a six week ordeal of wrong parts, bad communication and poor customer service. What was quoted at $160 ended up being $700. Parts were replaced without even knowing if they were bad. The store manager (Howard or Harold if I recall) said he would look into it and call me back on Monday. He never did. Avoid OD's for any repair calls. I will make sure I keep telling people to look elsewhere. I have already added it to Next Door so none of my neighbors have to deal with this. They truly were a horrible experience. I bought a washer and dryer 4 years ago and had a little problem with service, but after talking to Harry the issue was resolved. I will say though if you call for service ask them not to send JD out as he is lazy and frankly just doesn't give a damn!!! That's not Dyers fault only in so far as they hired him! They need to get rid of him!!! He came out and merely took 5 minutes looking at my dryer and said " we can't get parts for that anymore" recommended me buying a new one, charged me $86.50 and left!!!! I called another company out their technician looked at the dryer and fixed it for $150.00 including the trip charged. Oliver Dyer delivered our refrigerator with an interior door dent that kept the water and ice from dispensing. Two months later we have a fridge taped up as temporary repair while waiting for a new door to be delivered. The light inside fridge doesn't come on unless both doors are opened.We have to call them for updates. They are too busy to follow up with us. Wow, $2500 for a taped up fridge. Not our idea of great customer service. Will never step foot inside the store again. Better to pay a little more and get what you pay for. Very disappointed. read more

Please do not use, terrible, terrible, terrible company The repair man came out to my house and spent 12 minutes looking at my dryer, literally looking at it. He did not take any panels off, unplug, or remove anything. He just looked at it and told me the heating element was out and it was going to cost 500 bucks to repair it. This was on top of the service fee charge for diagnosing the issue of 86.55 I asked the repair guy where the heating element is located on the dryer and he could not tell me. His exact words were "its either over here or there" I asked how do you know if the heating element is bad and he said "because this is the typical case with these units" I called the manager after the guy left (I just paid the service fee of 86.55) and the manager said "well my guys are experienced, they can just look at the dryer and tell you the problem" He then stated "you are just upset that it is going to cost 500 dollars" Please do not use these guys they are crooks. I called Sears Appliance repair and they quoted me 175 - 225 to diagnose and repair. I informed the manager of this and he said "well look at them they are all on their way out you know" read more

I would not recommend using for appliance repair. Charged us $86 to look at the ice maker on our fridge- it was about a 15 minute visit- only to tell us that we need a new ice maker. To have them order/replace part was going to cost an additional $84 dollars for a thirty minute installation in addition to the $190 estimate for the part. I asked the technician if we used them to do the additional work, would they waive the $86 "diagnosis" fee and was laughed at. We found the part online for $90 and my husband easily replaced it. We saved ourselves about $200 by ordering/replacing it ourselves- I'm still kicking myself for throwing away the initial $86. read more

We buy all of our appliances here with extended warranties. In our experience, their service record is excellent. No charge for warranty calls even for silly minor issues. We had major issues with an expensive fridge. Had 4-5 calls on it during first year and so they replaced it. We had to be persistent about that but in the end they honored their promise to replace any lemon. I understand no place is perfect but compared to someplace like Sears or Home Depot, where you pay a minimum fee for calls and they outsource the warranty to a crappy company and you wait a week or more, Oliver Dyer is a no-brainer. Believe me, we have wrestled with service issues on appliances from everywhere we tried, and Oliver Dyer has been the best by a mile. read more

I need to remember to not even bother going here for parts. The handle on our dryer broke. I thought I'd use a local business and went to Oliver Dyer's Appliance. They wanted to rip me off for over $50 for a one-piece molded plastic part. FIFTY DOLLARS. I found it online for $20. As a point of reference, the OEM, Whirlpool, only dares to ask $28.29 for the part. I cannot see how Oliver Dyer can justify marking a part up $20. What value added to they provide for that? Zilch. I had them service our fridge a few weeks ago because of a water leak. It turned out we had a leaking water tank feed to the water dispenser. The service tech repaired it, and the charge was reasonable. A few days ago, the compressor started making noises and then apparently completely failed. This problem appears unrelated to the first problem, unless water leaking from the tank damaged the compressor. In any case, we asked for the same service tech, and he confirmed that the compressor had failed. He didn't charge us for the second service call, since he had been out within 90 days and since he spent very little time on the job. He recommended that we ask for Mike, if we wanted to get a fridge from them. We stopped by and asked for Mike. He gave us an incredible deal, on the same unit we had, from their slightly damaged, but new inventory. They are delivering the new fridge tomorrow. I would highly recommend Oliver Dyer's for both appliance purchases and repair. read more

What more could you ask for. I walked in needing a fridge and a washer & dryer. Instead of going to a retailer and paying top dollar, I went to Oliver Dyer for their scratch and dent appliances. I got a brand new top-of-the line whirlpool fridge for HALF price, because there was an insignificant dent in the back. Same story with the washing machine. They didn't have a matching dryer that was dented, but sales rep Chuck Patrick gave me non-dented one at a lower rate. So I have top-of-the-line appliances for half the price, and they delivered and installed my appliances for a reasonable fee. Buyer Beware! Total lack of customer service. Purchased two refrigerators and a dryer from Oliver Dyer. The refrigerators were in the back area of the scratch and dent. The JennAir which we purchased was believed to be new unused. Well when it was delivered, food was found in the top shelf. water not working and paint on the outside. The door was rusted as well. Contacted the salesman and he advised 3-4 weeks for a door. Service was called and advised he needed the door to replace. Waited over 8 weeks for the door to arrive. The door was to be installed. The door delivered was dented and wrong. The handle could not be adhered. I have a one handled refrigerator now. I have to wait another 12 weeks for another door? Contacted Harry Lewis, GM of Oliver Dyer. If you are a male you are treated differently. His demeanor and tone was condescending at best. He accused me of lying to him about my husband speaking to him and having a five year warranty on the items. I have never in my life been spoken to in such a disgusting manner in my 54 years on this earth. This is the importance of his clientele to his business. My husband and I physically went to the store to discuss in person with Mr.Lewis. My husband and I requested Mr.Lewis apologize for his verbal accusations and tone with me. He refused to apologize directly . He apologized for my misinterpretation of the intent of the conversation. Bull! We were then offered a new Kitchen Aid as they have been pushing this option or a refund. We want a new replaced JennAir and they refuse. We were told if they have to come 3 times for service they replace the appliance. We pushed this issue and stated these visit did not count. Not what we expected from a locally owned business in Texas.Take yiur chances with big box stores. The only reason for onestar is Scott in service has been a saving grace and he's man enough to apologize for his customers being inconvenienced. Ya know, you try to support the small, locally-owned business. Sometimes it works in your favor but sometimes it goes very badly. I scheduled a service call with Oliver Dyer to install new door springs and drain hose on my dishwasher. I supplied the drain hose but not the springs but I guess I should have bought the springs as well because they were available for $30 online but OD charged me $45. They also let me know in advance that the service call was $69.95 but did not let me know that this would not be applied to any labor. So the guy is in my house for one hour and my bill is $228, inclusive of $45 in parts, $165 in labor and $18 in taxes. That's right! $165 for one hour of labor! Is Oliver Dyer hiring board-certified attorneys to do their appliance repairs?! I called this morning to inquire about this and was told sorry but we do not apply the service call charge to labor. I cannot think of any other service provider, tradesmen, etc, that gets away with such a thing. Also, I asked the technician to call me upon completion and he did not.
