What they had available the day I was there

This is my favorite bakery in the area, their pastries are so soft and the flavor is outstanding. The staff always friendly and do their very best to be efficient and very helpful. The place is very clean and covid aware. The parking is easy to get to at the side of the building. They do have a drive up window. The whole restaurant is handicap accessible from the doors to the restrooms and everything in between.

It's just a cup of coffee ~ except when it's THAT cup of coffee! Hubs and I drink our coffee black. When traveling, our standards aren't all that high. We pulled through The Village Bakery's Pandemic 2020 Drive-Thru Only service on a Tuesday morning. We ordered doughnuts, scones, and a cinnamon roll. The menu had lots of enticing options. Hours are reduced due to pandemic. They opened at 6 today. Scone (raspberry white chocolate) was beautiful and pronounced delish. Doughnuts were doughnuts. But the cinnamon roll!! Oh. My. Goodness!! It was perfection! It had crunchy parts, but the important parts were wonderfully soft. Taste was sublime. The blend of buttercream frosting, cinnamon and pastry made my heart and tummy sing. And the coffee!! Smooth, rich and no bitterness at all, served hot but not so hot that the first sip requires some kind of treatment. It was the perfect friend for the cinnamon roll. If you find yourself in Oregon, do NOT skip the Village Bakery. If you arrive after they close, spend the night to get there the next day! You and your tummy will be so happy!

The village bakery hands down has the best cinnamon roll I've ever had. They also have a good assortment of delicious donuts and bagels. The environment is cozy and quaint. They have a nice fireplace and friendly customer service.

Great place! Ran by a local organization that help disabled people. Actually employee some of them at the bakery.

I have the Cinnamon Kookie Butter Chai Latte and it was delicious, sad they don't offer it in a bigger size cup. Lol. But it's a must try if you are unsure what to get. He frequently brought up politics, demographics, and "statistics" at work in ways that felt inappropriate and often came across as biased. It wasn't the kind of environment I expected from a workplace. I personally chose not to engage with these conversations because I was there to work, and I try to keep my personal beliefs separate from my workplace. However, being repeatedly exposed to these types of comments from management made the environment feel unprofessional. I also noticed that he would tell us certain employees had quit, but after speaking with those employees, I learned that was not always what happened. This made me feel like there was a lack of honesty and transparency in how situations were handled. One comment that really stuck with me was when he told me and another young female employee that we'd be prettier if we spoke more intelligently and that men would like us more. We are both very young girls, and that comment was incredibly inappropriate and made us uncomfortable. I was also told that if I came in early every day, I would receive a $1 raise. I did exactly that, and I received the raise on my final paycheck. Just a few days later, I was fired. It was confusing to be recognized with a raise and then immediately let go without being given a meaningful explanation. I was told I was being fired because I supposedly had an attitude with a customer. When I asked what had happened, I wasn't given a clear explanation and was simply told they had decided not to continue my employment. I work hard, take my jobs seriously, and I rarely leave negative reviews because I know everyone is trying their best. I didn't contact them afterward because I felt I had already been treated disrespectfully. After the way I was spoken to and the lack of honest communication, I didn't feel another conversation would have changed anything. As a customer, I also found the food to be average, especially for the price. Before I even worked here, my mom and I had cheesecake from the café on a few different occasions, and every time it had a noticeable freezer-burn taste. For the prices they charge, I expected much better quality. Based on my experience as both an employee and a customer, I would encourage people to support another family-owned café instead.
