The restaurant opens at noon and the people are waiting in the parking lot. This place packs them in. The building is clean, well lit and parking it close. The menu covers so many different taste pallets so there will always be something for everyone here. The portions are large and the drinks are strong. Our waitress Stephanie was quick to welcome us and get our drink order. Our food arrived hot and we shared two different dishes because we could not decide. I enjoyed that the sports were playing on the TV, the pull tabs available and the atmosphere peaceful for a rainy Sunday morning. Got out of there for around $60.00 with a tip. I felt so lazy I left the packed leftovers on the table and Stephanie was such a sweetheart she ran them out to us in the parking lot. So thankful for her customer service and going above and beyond. Let's start with the star of the show--THE CHEESY BREADSRICKS The cheesy breadsticks are the best breadsticks I've had from an Italian restaurant, a sports bar, or pizza joint. The dough is light and airy and soft on the inside, the crust is crispy, the cheese is gooey, the garlic base is not too overwhelming, and there's a scrumptious blend of herbs on top. I like ordering with both the sweet marinara and ranch. I LOVE their alfredo sauce- I do a build my own option with fettuccine and asparagus. So yummy! Alfredo sauce is the perfect balance of buttery goodness; not too liquidy like some places, and not too rich either. Better than the chain Italian restaurant in my opinion! This is one of our favorite places to go out to dinner, when the warm seasons arrive we love to sit outside on the covered patio. When we visit my mom enjoys the Monterey Chicken with extra mushrooms (pictured). My dad orders the Tuscan Chicken. We are almost always pleased with our orders, and if not the staff are absolutely wonderful, anything you need- they got it! Arrived around 4:30 on a Friday. Asked to be seated on the north side to avoid the way too loud music. Hate going to an eating place that makes itself into a rock concert!. Service was good, but my bone-in wings were dry from being over cooked. Waitress asked how my food was and I told her that the wings were dry. I enjoyed our meal at Olivera's and I definitely would return. It kind of sucked because we took my daughter and her boyfriend out along with our whole family and we paid the bill. It was STEEP!! And the service was so good I had to tip 25%! I mean she earned that!! Seriously though she did! I had the Tuscan chicken which was very good!! A bit salty but moist, not dry, grilled with grill marks. Very tasty. Every one's dish was cooked to perfection actually. I have no complaints. So obviously service and food quality gain 5 stars. Freshness also gains 5 stars no issues there. Ambiance meh... 3 stars. Why? Well they have fancy Italian restaurant vibes and prices but it was like being in a loud sports bar. Cleanliness 4 stars. People I work with always rave about this place. Since I was in the area, I thought I'd check it out. I went with another coworker for lunch. We got there right when they opened. The hostess and server were both really kind. Our service was fast and the food was correct. I ordered a taco salad. The many only indicated beef. It would have been nice to see an option for chicken or black beans. I'm not a huge fan of ground beef, but I wanted that taco salad! It was a good salad, but there was so much beef! I wouldn't have minded a little more lettuce. I appreciate that the salad shell was a baked tortilla and not something deep fried. It would be nice if they had lunch size portions on the menu, especially with salads. My salad was quite big so I didn't eat all of it. By the time I tried eating it at home, it wasn't nearly as good because everything got mushy. I liked my salad, even though I am complaining about a few minor things. Stopped here just because they were on our way through town and open on a Sunday evening. Food and portions were outstanding (did not see one person leaving without a leftover food container) as well as service and atmosphere. Previously lived in Sicily, for us food was true to Sicilian flavors. And to be perfectly honest, don't think I've been in a food establishment that was as clean and fresh as Olivera's in a long time. When there's an inexpensive item and it's good- that's TERRIFIC! But when there's an inexpensive item and it's awful - take it off the menu! A five year old's opinion on speghetti and meatballs / she immediately told grandma - "the meatball is awful"! I had a taste and could hardly swallow the bite - chased it down with water. Expected meat in a meatball. What you got was a dense pasty taste of fillers. The speghetti had a can taste to it. I ordered Chicken quesadilla and that too was unpalatable-two quesa shells held together by thin tasteless cheese and tiny 'cubes' of (I guess) - chicken. The quality has truly suffered. However, the salsa was good. The third meal was a regular hamburger which did not look 100% beef. The French fries were good. The salad meals are just overpriced but it seems all restaurants hiked up their prices on bowls of salad topped with protein. (Great profit for restauran). We were there to try something other than pizza. Stick to the pizza! read more

We randomly stopped here on a road trip across the state and were so pleasantly surprised with a fantastic dining experience. The food was delicious - I got the lobster mac and my daughter got the Stromboli, which was ginormous. We also started with the spinach dip and it was the best I've ever had - the bread for dipping was SO good. The server was also terrific. She did a great job! The inside of the restaurant is pretty casual but the bar side, which is probably a lot more casual, is well masked so we didn't feel like we were sitting in a bar eating a nice meal. The building was nice and the layout was separated with a nice option of where to sit and also tv's so it was a sports bar basically. To start, me and my wife both got burgers. They cook a long time and when we received them, the burgers were burnt. Basically like coal. Also, there was no seasoning or flavor. We subbed out their "chips" for fries which was an additional charge. Weird? And the fries were disgusting. No flavor and just gross. We also asked for a side of ranch which was flavorless. I thought I had picked a boring grilled chicken breast dinner (my first attempt at eating "healthy" after the holiday but instead the plate placed in front of me was not only appealing but the flavors knocked my socks off. Read about Olivera's on Yelp and thought we'd try it out. It was pretty OK. Not the greatest, but certainly no where near the worst I've seen. A fairly straight forward menu, not huge. The staff was super friendly and the service was outstanding. We had the garlic bread, which was very good, and the deluxe pizza, deep dish style, and it was alright. Not like a deep dish in Chicago, but a fair attempt. They didn't skimp on the toppings, and it was certainly cooked right. The sauce was a little on the sweet side, but it wasn't bad. If we lived there in the Ionia area, or were passing through it wouldn't be a bad option, but probably wouldn't drive 45 minutes to go back again. read more

Coming back to Caseville from Grand Rapids today we were looking for a nice place to have dinner. I checked "Yelp" and found two restaurants of interest both with 4 stars. One Italian and one Mexican. We chose the Mexican just for the heck of it. On the way there we came across a pizza delivery car for Olivera's twice so we decided to follow it to that restaurant. No regret at all. My friend ordered the wet burrito which was huge. She brought half home and found it stuffed with mostly meat. She was more than pleased. I ordered the penne pasta with salmon and asparagus in creamy sauce, also very good. Very good ending to an enjoyable day. Highly recommend this spot for great food and ambiance. Well first I did lived in Ionia for more the 4 years & never been in Olivera's Restaurant since they moved to the new spot on dexter street in Ionia until today with my mom and brother & I ordered the ultimate bacon cheeseburger with Orion rings and coke cola the food was great and the service was great also & there is a bar in the restaurant or pub which I didn't drink still it's nice to see a bar in the restaurant which you don't see much anymore still overall the restaurant is quite and beautiful inside and the price of the food is In the $$ range still the price wasn't bad it was very affordable my first impression was enjoyable and are waitresses who helped us was kind I appreciate that overall I like the place so I give it 5 stars rating and would I go there again??? They "have" to use their old take out menus from a few years ago due to Covid. They aren't accurate. We were informed this till AFTER we ordered all our food. So our spinach dip didn't come with the "house made" GF chips for our GF person at our table. The waitress was kind of rude about the whole situation and was about to charge us for the chips until we subjected. Spinach dip was bomb. Taco salad and nachos were gross. I guess that's what you get for ordering Mexican food at a mostly Italian place. Lesson learned.
