I'm excited to see the Ollie's has made it to San Antonio. We lived here for almost thirty five years and didn't have one. So of course, we had to stop by. I will say that their selection is not as big as some of the other stores that i've seen, but they still have some great deals. This visit, we got a pan to cook with, a phone charging card, some protein powder and even some beauty products. If you're looking to find some great deals, I would definitely recommend to take a walk around and see what you can find. read more

With the closure of Tuesday Morning, Ollie's has become my favorite local discount outlet. The deals are about as good at other discount stores, and admittedly it's fun to see some of the corporations' failed experiments. For example, who in the world wanted grapefruit flavored Listerine? Parking is plentiful but damn, the lot is run down so watch your step. Service is decent, selection is quite varied in particular in bedding and dry goods. As someone else pointed out, you can get great discounts on food products but be sure to check the expiration dates on some of them! YMMV but for my dollar this is a discount chain worth visiting. read more

Don't waste your time shopping here. Everything is low quality and the store is a mess. Everything I looked at wasn't much different than Walmart. I don't recommend going to this store. The staff wasn't anywhere to be found and when I finally found someone they acted like I was bothering them. You can get better quality and better value somewhere else. read more

Reminds me of McFrugals from back in the day before they were acquired by Big Lots. It's a discount outlet. Overhyped, but that's not their fault. The deals are along the same line as other discount stores. Definitely would not go out of my way to visit again. However, they did have a very large book selection, so maybe if I was shopping for a bookworm I'd go back. The food selection was mainly obscure brands. They had overstock toys, household goods, but not a large selection of them. Didn't really like the vibe of the store. A bit run down feeling, but they just opened. Maybe it was all the bare space on the shelves. The overt advertising as well as the absolute *worst selection* of Christmas music was a bit distracting over loudspeaker. It gets a big meh from me. We purchased vinyl flooring in 2022 that came with a 15 year warranty. In 2024 it started chipping and lifting up. It is a waterproof flooring and was cared for properly by me. We contacted the manufacturer for the product and we showed them the defects and they did nothing but send out an inspector who came up with some excuses for not being covered. My husband showed him a leftover piece and how the edges broke so easily and he said that's what the courts are for. My husband and I are both disabled and we can't afford to pay someone again to fix and replace floors. We spent over 2000.00 dollars and got no help. Warranty at ollies means nothing! Now I'm tripping over flooring that is popping up. Be careful buying flooring at Ollies. read more

Not a bad store nice and clean, we did not buy anything just wanted to check it out. But there we lots of bare shelves, but it was a Sunday... Maybe the stock arrives on Monday?? Lots of old school candies which I like, and other food products. But beware most of the product we looked at were to expire within a month! Hence the low prices. This store opened in our area in August. We waited several weeks before going in. We immediately saw a 5 ft cat tree we really liked but they did not have any in boxes only a display. Asked the store manager if we could buy and he said no that they would have a truck coming in a few days, check back. Came back several times with no luck, again asking if they would sell display and Frank (employee) took my name and number and said he would call if/when the cat tree came in. My husband went in several weeks later to find the cat tree gone. He asked an employee who said they sold the display. Thanks Frank and the great customer service for not selling it to the person who would of bought it over a month ago. By the way, no great deals at this store. This Ollie's was clean and very well organized. I will say that they have a decent book selection. Not to big but you may come across a book you might like. I would say they have a bigger food selection for snacks to grab and items for cheap. They have a huge inventory of K-cups for coffee. I do feel they have a selection for home goods. But not there bread and butter. They have cute items for sure and about 10 rows dedicated to it. However in my opinion they have flooring and carpet selection which is quite big. Now they have a few mattresses for sale. So if your in need of one you can always go there and get one for cheap. But it's best to shop around even if you need a cheap one. Prices may differ in different stores. But go check it out if you are in that area near the Ingram Mall. read more

They opened only a few weeks ago, but the deals are ready to go. Customer service is pretty good for a retail store. It's like a better Big Lots! Unlike other bargain stores, things are actually organized for the most part. I love the hand drawn advertisements, as well as they catchy signs with Ollie's face. I enjoyed this location until yesterday. I did a bunch of shopping and at checkout tried to pull up the current 15% coupon sent by Ollie's in an email to me. Their server was down so I asked if they could manually enter it. I was shocked that they have no way to do that. Every other store I have visited keeps a coupon behind the counter for situations like that. The manager kept telling me it was a problem with my phone. No the message was "server not found". The manager was looking right at the email on my phone where it said click to see coupon. So they refused to apply a discount. Well there are other places for me to spend my money. read more

Where to begin. Saw a commercial. Drug the Hubs out to see what all the hype was about. Had a pretty pleasant experience while shopping and checking out. The young cashier was friendly. ** this is the tricky part. I had given my daughter my wallet so she and my son could do some shopping on their own but she only got a little doggie bed. Took the doggie bed and put it in my cart to check out and left her cart. Got home and started looking for my wallet... that had my keys on it and low and behold my daughter, who is only 15, so still a little scatterbrained, had this look of complete horror on her face. I immediately knew she had left the keys/wallet in the basket. No problem right? Called the store. The young lady that checked us out answered and assured us they would put the wallet in the office in the safe. Agreed and told her I would come by today (Saturday) to pick it up. Arrived back at the store. Waited patiently for a cashier to become free. They went to the office and asked about it, told us to wait out side the office and someone would be right out. No problem again. A woman comes out and very sternly, and by sternly I mean RUDELY, without even missing a beat or saying hello first, says they didn't hear anything about a wallet. Completely cuts me off and starts hollerin' at another employee who comes over and I tell her about the previous cashier from the night before and she goes in and shuts the office door and then comes out is on the phone and says "we don't tell them that because we aren't responsible for that"... and walks away. So I guess that was her way of telling me she didn't really give a crap. She goes to the register and pulls out my wallet and hands it to me. So thanks. I wasn't worried about y'all being RESPONSIBLE for my wallet that I carelessly left behind, nor did I at any point give the indication that I did hold y'all responsible for it! I just wanted my drivers license. It's obvious that this place cares only about making a buck and the people running it have no clue what true customer service is. If I want to be treated like dirt I'll go to Wally World. My advice if you have to shop here... get what you need and don't expect kindness. At all. So my first time here and I have to say it's not really bargain prices. For instance the Febreeze refill here is $6.99 for one. Walmart has two in pack for $2.49. Every package says "there's" and "our prices" I don't know who they are competing with. read more

I have been to Ollie's 3 pervious times with no problems but always went in the evenings. Today I went in the afternoon and the staff was rude, talking negatively about customers loud enough for me to hear it 3 times in that one trip and the manager also spoke disparagingly about the homeless population which is only made worse when at check out they ask if you would like to round up to donate to SA food bank who feeds thousands of San Antonio homeless population. All in all it was a negative experience that I ended up putting most of the stuff back and heading to the 99 cents only store for it. Plus there stuff is okay sometimes find hidden gems and prices but save yourself some time and go somewhere with better customer service. read more

Went just to check out a new place while looking for a baby shower gift, at first not going to lie the outside made me think that I was going to be disappointed, I was WRONG! Mostly crappy off brand stuff on the edge of expiration or beyond. For example: Bought some Krylon spray paint. Each of four cans came out nothing but clear, watery stuff that wont dry. I actually called Krylon and was told based on the can code that the paint was 8 years old!!! Yep EIGHT years old. They wouldnt even give me my money back on my Debit card but the cheesy mgr who looked like he got shanked in prison would only give us an in store card!!!!. Yeah, I dont want your cheap shit. Honestly, it's a soso store , I wasn't a fan. Though, items are Inexpensive 95% of the dog stuff they had was expired.
