Easy and convenient drop off for electronic devices and electrical plugs, wires, miscellaneous items that are attached to it. Had an old outdated stereo system 6disc changer that my Ex left with me, was stuck in storage for 3 years and finally had enough of it to do something. Called surplus service around 10am, nice gentleman answered said come down and drop off with no charge, gave directions to come straight to back of building. Drove to back as directed at my lunch time. A gentleman walked up to my car, checked what I had . Said he was going to talk with other coworker since wasn't sure if that was eligible be dropped off since he was new, came back with his coworker who said it was fine. Took all cable with it. Cleaned up the house with 20 years of electronics: DVD players, printers, lots of wires, fans, lamp post, microwaves, laptops, and even my old ping-pong machine. I would say most of them are in working condition but they are not being used for a very long time. Called and answered by a friendly lady and instructed me to drop at the back of the warehouse. Drove over and greeted by a nice gentlemen and helped me to unload the stuff. The place is very organized. Glad to find this place in my neighborhood and solved a huge problem for me. I did not have a good experience from this company. I bought two items from them, and they knew absolutely nothing about the two things I did buy, and could answer zero questions. This was for lab equipment. Maybe your experience will be different. But, I did enquire about a power supply unit, and they were incapable of answering any questions, and seemed to be a bit put off at my asking. Lastly, I inquired about a Mass Spectrometer, concerned that the unit they were selling was actually recalled, and potentially dangerous, depending on a particular major part that may have not been replaced. I attempted to raise the issue, and the person at Surplus Service instead said that I was only trying to get the price down, and that I would be barred from any future purchases from their company, which is fine with me. All I know is that someone bought this Mass Spectrometer from them, and it could explode any day if it did not have the necessary repair. The Surplus Service rep was oblivious to all of this, and did not seem to care. I have all of his/her emails. Their rep was surly, and rude. While this company might be awarded kudos for their recycling efforts, they should have some knowledge about the goods they sell, especially lab equipment, that I would not say they are qualified to sell. read more

Phil listened as I explained the confusion I was having hooking the computer to other hardware. He sent me links to pictures and descriptions of what I needed including eBay links to the exact item so I could easily purchase them. I had worked with PCs exclusively for more than 35 years. I bought a mid 2011 Apple iMac computer from Surplus Service. On Ebay. I didn't know what to expect so crossed my fingers and blinked! POOF there it was. Fast shipping and very well packaged. They promised it would work too. its hard to find one with the keyboard and mouse. There were others but, I wanted the whole package and a good reputable seller as well, that fit my tiny budget. it was better then expected. Very beautiful, however the keypad didn't work, so I researched on line, reading blogs and taping links for hours to find what the problem might be. Sadly, I concluded that it must not work :-( well I really wanted a computer. I had been using a phone and one finger typing for 12 years, ya so I was bummed. I should have BLINKED again in the first place. Well, I finally did, fearful they would say, sorry out of luck, I opened my eyes and POOF there was a new keyboard!!
