The options have been very confusing to us laymen/parents and he took the time to write the most comprehensive email outlining our options and all the pros and cons of each. Updated review after 3 months: After our primary dentist removed a baby tooth 3 months ago based on the recommendation of my new orthodontist, the problem tooth completely got corrected on its own and it looks pretty good and straight without having to do unnecessary procedure of $2500 out of pocket. The baby tooth that was extracted allowed the problem adult tooth to completely recover all on its own. Now It needs to be monitored every 6 months to make sure there is enough room for adult tooth to come in and so far it's looking good. Sometimes we need to let our body just do it's thing. Another issue I have with Dr Olsen is his payment method. I believe doctors should earn our business based on the previous experience and not credit from the phase 1. The better option would be to offer a discount for a second phase as being loyal customer. Just my opinion.... read more

We had an emergency situation and left several messages, but never heard back from him or his office staff for a couple of days! My daughter is a patient at Dr. Olsen's office as I want to remain anonymous since are kids go to the same school. My review: 1) Initially had problems with insurance and billing. 2) Felt confident that Dr. Olsen would deliver the best treatment since he is board certified, unfortunately he did not deliver what was promised. It really doesn't matter if he is board certified, the end result shows his skills- Dr. Olsen fell short with his work. 3) Not satisfied with my daughters teeth! Waste of time and money. I was pretty bummed out about having to get braces again as an adult, but I decided to go for it and get Invisalign. I'm still in the midst of the shifting and straightening, but I could not have asked for a better experience! The office has video games (for bored siblings, or in my case, if I ever have my hubby tag along for an appointment) and they usually have cookies out (they look delicious, but I always resist them). I wore braces twice, one when i was 10, and another when i was 15 yrs, then i stop wearing retainers at 28, and my teeth went back to crooked. I was told by 2 orthodontist that the only way to to fix my teeth was through regular braces, but i was over 40 and that wasen't an option...Dr Olsen was open minded and willing to work with me using invisalign (previous doctor got mad at me for insisting that it should work). It has been over 1 year and a half and my teeth are looking near perfect! Dr Olsen is patient, smart and cares about his clients. He also has the itero machine (no more disgusting goop!). We just visited Dr. Olsen's office and had such a great experience! Currently, my son recently began treatment from another orthodontist. That orthodontist recommended treatment that seemed extreme and drastic. We were referred to Dr. Olsen by a top dentist to get a second opinion. He spent a lot of time going over this case and gave his honest and thorough professional opinion, all with a well-explained follow-up email. I was impressed by the fact that he seems progressive and modern in his approach, rather than taking the fast track (and not always best way) to the end result. He agreed with what we were doing treatment-wise with our son and helped us sort through the options. We have another son who will need treatment and are very much considering Dr. Olsen this next time around. We didn't go over costs since this was a consultation, but in my experience, something like dental work isn't something to mess around with. Whatever he charges is worth it. I went to Olsen Orthodontics and to fix my bite. After 18 months in braces, he was not able to fix my bite. During my visits, he would spend no more than 5 minutes evaluating my progress and his assistant would do most of the work. Towards the end, I complained several times that my bit was still not right and he simply shrugged it off and told me that my teeth would eventually adjust. I have been out of braces for almost one year and still have issues with my bit. I will most likely have to get braces again (with a different doctor). read more
