I found extra fees surprisingly showing up, which I believe is why he had a high turnover of front office people the 2+ years we visited Pana. I had my daughter do her phase 2 with Dr. Shawn Miller, 200 yards west of Pana's Office, there are no creative accounting issues or outrageous retainer replacement fees. At my appointment YOU told me I needed my wisdom teeth out as you had my teeth x-ray for braces. Let's also remember that appointment was cancelled. By you, by your oral surgeon... I wasn't informed. Until it happened again. This month. Your wife called me :) aaaaand informed me :) unfortunately if it's not financially beneficial for your oral surgeon to come in for the once a month surgery date, you will cancel it... 1 day notice :) Wow thank you, very considerate :) aaaand making me babysit you and your team to make sure they actually refund me. It's 10 days later and I'm just now being informed you need my card number when I was told the refund was going to be initiated DAYS ago. Terrible. Searching for a good Dentist/Orthodontics is hard especially in these times. I have many issues with my mouth and had trouble trusting dentist because of situations that happened in the past. My 6yr old son met with Dr.Pana today! How did I find him? 2 of my friends kids come here and they only said great things about him. I also saw my Yelp Friends, & from Facebook referrals too! My son's previous dentist referred him to orthodontist because of overcrowding teeth. So this he is our second orthodontist consult. Compared to the previous orthodontist we saw, I could truly say Dr.Pana does a very through assessment. He is honest, caring, and most of all he made my son comfortable and surprisingly my son cooperated with him!!! Amazing! My son has special needs, and he was able to explain to make Ace feel part of the plan as well. For example, after Dr. Pana took x-rays of my son, Dr. Pana had him look at the x ray with him, which speaks volumes to me because even though my kid is only 6yrs old with special needs, Dr.Pana made my son feel important and valued. As a parent with many concerns, he listens to my concerns and explains things well. I feel comfortable to move forward with his assessment and stay with Dr.Pana. There are other medical issues he wants me to follow up with my son and provided references because of the x-rays that were taken today. I know that my son is in great care because of his through assessment. At this time, my son is too young to get the expanders. Most likely he will need them but Dr.Pena wants to wait and just follow up with Ace in 6months. Sounds like a very reasonable plan to me... When we came to our appt, my son also felt so welcome, they have a chalk board where they wrote his name and welcomed him too! Individualized care is what you will get here... His waiting area also has IPADs that kids can play with (just ask for the password). They also have coffee, cookies, and water. Front office staff was very kind! Friendly, welcoming, and very pleasant...Dr.Pana is very knowledgeable and dedicated in his practice! These type of doctors are a true gem! I highly recommend Dr.Pana. read more

Phase one went well with my daughter but we started having issues as soon as we started phase two. Maybe since we paid all upfront with phase one they didnt give us problems but since we did a payment plan the second time they were looking to make more money. Glad we didn't start my sons treatment!!! Three months into phase two I was done. Apparently my child who already had braces once and didn't have issues now was breaking brackets every visit! We were super diligent about what she was eating especially since it's summer (definitely way more than anyone else who has kids with braces) but got yelled at in the waiting room because my kid was the one at fault and eating things that were too hard. One of her brackets got loose during her dental visit. My dentist said it was fine and she could glue it back on but sure enough Dr. Pana said it was broken! After 5 broken brackets in 3 months ($75 per broken bracket after the initial 3 that are complimentary) we will not be going back and have found a new orthodontist. What a money grabbing sheme!!! No other orthodontist I have talked to charges for brackets and every parent I talked to said the same. Best part, after they were fired they still charged my card for the next month. Let's see if they reverse the charge or I will have to dispute it. read more

This review is for Dr. Marc Pana: As an adult I was very hesitant to get braces, especially since I already had them as a teenager and hated it. It was uncomfortable and painful to say the least. I moved away, lost my retainer and over the years my teeth shifted and I was unhappy with the way my teeth looked. I received a flyer in the mail advertising a free consultation, so I went in to check it out. Of course I went in with a very specific request like most people might like: "Hey doc, I just have this one front crooked toot and I just want fix that, but everything else is perfect...". Not only did Dr. Pana take his time to explain to me how important it is to have an aligned bite and how aligning your teeth can maintain your facial structure as you age and take stress off of your jaw, but he also made sure to catch many other dental issues and made sure that I got those corrected before we started orthodontia (Dr. Harb did a great job addressing and correcting cavities and tooth sensitivity). I decided to go with all ceramic braces and has monthly appointments for one year as he adjusted and got my teeth just right. We made appointments with multiple orthodontists when our dentist mentioned that my middle daughter might need braces. One said she didn't need them yet and to come back in 6 months. All he used was a tiny measuring tape to determine that. My husband was thrilled & my daughter was bummed! I told her that we would go back in a few months and she'd probably get them at that time. She told me that she didn't like that "orthdonigist". We still had 2 more consultations and my daughter begged me to keep them. Next was Dr Pana and he was super friendly, put my daughter at ease & was very knowledgeable. He did a whole head X-ray which showed that my daughter actually DID need to start treatment. She had lost 2 baby teeth over 6 months ago and her adult teeth hadn't come in. Dr Pana said it was because her mouth was too small and there was no room. He suggested a treatment plan which included an expander so that we could try to avoid having to pull out teeth in the future. This appealed to me, greatly, because my friend was going through a battery of implants and braces for the second time as an adult due to her childhood orthodontist pulling teeth! He suggested checking my older daughter out, too which I don't know why I didn't think of. Duh! She too had the same crowded, too small mouth when we were able to see the adult teeth. Looking at her smile, she looked fine but the whole head X-ray told a different story. Dr Pana emphasized that his main concern was long term health not cosmetics which resonated with me. He also seemed to be very up to date with current technologies and techniques. We always feel welcome at the office, everyone is friendly and helpful and accommodating. They also do fun things like ice cream socials and a big prize wheel to spin. This is brilliant because my girls actually look forward to getting their braces checked. My daughters are 9 & 8 and not the greatest at keeping their braces in tip top shape. Dr Pana never gets annoyed when they need an emergency wire fix or rubber band replacement. Their 6 year old brother keeps asking when he can get braces. Ha! Daddy is hoping at least one kid won't need braces for our bank account's sake. Love this place!! My son has perfectly straight teeth now! On the day his braces were removed all the girls at school noticed and gave him compliments. His smile gets lots of compliments now because of the work Dr. Pana did! It was a two part braces deal but well worth it. Only down side to braces is the retainers after they are complete and how easy boys break retainers- those aren't cheap!! So glad we are finally to the night time use only now. Dr Hart is our family dentist now all because of what great care we received for orthodontics. We have been with them for over 4 years now- proud to be one of their first patients. Dr. Pana is a godsend! He was able to catch a severe nasal obstruction in my daughter from a special X-ray he takes of all his patients at their ortho consultation! It's crazy to think an orthodontist caught this when several doctors and ENT's hadn't! My daughter had surgery to correct this, and can breathe and smell things she hasn't ever remembered smelling! I have serious trust issues with dentists, but I was pleasantly surprised with this one! Making an appointment was super easy and they have great availability (I only had to leave work 30 mins early). The office is modern, clean, and has up-to-date technology. The dentist shows you pictures of your teeth so you can actually see cavities or flaws, and the technician is very gentle and understanding. I also like how courteous and friendly each person I had contact with was. They lose one star because the wait time was long both times I went (about 20+ minutes).
