Chris Costantini of Adelfia Insurance Cost My Small Business Thousands of Dollars then Ghosted Me…read more After maintaining my own small business since 2002 with zero issues relative to insurance, I started working with Chris at Adelfia in 2023, and that decision has resulted in nothing but undue stress, expense, and a ton of lost time. When first issuing my workers comp policy in 2023, Chris neglected to exclude my husband and I as requested. This caused a huge audit bill halfway through the second year uncovering the mistake. Agreeing that it was his error, that premium was covered by his insurer under an Errors & Omissions claim. In taking responsibility and processing this claim, it was my understanding that Chris had fully addressed and resolved his error. When the renewal for the policy came up, I again reached out to Chris for confirmation that I should continue with CNA given the issue and was told everything was in place as it should be for our policy. Fast forward to the second year audit, and I am again met with a bill in the thousands to account for coverage for my husband and I. AGAIN! The policy was never adjusted after the initial error for the second year and we were months into the third year and still the exclusion had not been put in place. Chris agreed he as at fault - again - and promised to do everything in his power to correct this huge bill landing on the shoulders of my small business. He spent three months begging my carrier's underwriters to backdate the paperwork which was firmly established as outside of their company's (and they say, state) regulations. Ultimately, the company would not agree to backdate forms and the huge bill remains. Given the final word from my carrier, I looked to Chris to right his wrong as he claimed he would "do everything within my power to make this right" in a call on November 13, 2025, along with. On January 28, 2026, he said "I want to assure you that we are continuing to stay on top of this". That was his last communication to me. We are on day 17 of total radio silence from him. I've placed calls, sent 2 emails along with a certified letter and he is nowhere to be found. Running a small business means wearing many hats, and your agent is supposed to make you feel secure about your coverages and their financials. They are NOT supposed to rob you of hours of your time and thousands of dollars. Doing business with Chris and his agency, Adelfia, has caused me so much unnecessary stress, and I really hope others will consider this and choose to work with someone else.
