The doors were open about 3" and they were finishing up. Confronting a thief, of course they'll never admit to you. But, Angel had already told me he had the notchers. Now suddenly, he never did. I paid almost $300. for them. And he just took them. If you hire these guys, don't turn your back. And lock your tools up, lock your garage, and lock your barn too. If you think you can trust them, you'll regret it. They also left without telling me they were done, and hauled off every unused extra bag of cement I paid for, sent helper John back to collect a check. I highly recommend you NOT hire Feather hill. To this day the access road gate still sags and is difficult to open and close. A few years ago they came and built some VERY expensive simple walkway gates and an access road gate. The first thing I said is I need them to be pool code because we were saving to build a pool. The walkway gates were in the area of $900. Time after time the walkway gate would not close on its own and, in my opinion was poorly built. I do appreciate them coming to try and fix them but ultimately could not. I've had to cut some pieces to get the lock to have enough space it would close. I would not recommend them as they could solve a simple gate not closing.

He is rude and retaliatory, even going as far as purposely damaging fences/gates that he has installed to force the customer to come out of pocket for repairs. Mr Overby sells a good story but doesn't provide adequate services. Stir clear of him he WILL rip you off! He also does business under the name Viking fence. As a person and a contractor he is Horrible!!

We are out thousands of dollars from shoddy, misrepresented work that was not performed even to a…read morehandyman's standards, let alone a licensed fencing contractor's standard at our ranch in El Dorado County. I would give zero stars if I could. Be forewarned if during busy times, you find someone immediately available to do the work, when everyone else is booked for months. We provided a straightforward design, yet Seth implemented it incorrectly by setting the posts wrong; he would not take responsibility for the mistake, and in fact, blamed us for not catching the problem. We felt that a licensed fencing contractor given a clear set of plans that he stated he clearly understood did not need to be micromanaged. He sent a crew out but made few appearances himself, and his crew appeared to be labor he hired with little experience. I'm writing this to save you the enormous expense and pain we had to endure by hiring this company, paying him thousands for his time and materials, and then having to hire a second company to re-implement the majority of the fence, which included having to repurchase and re-set dozens of posts. Had we not caught all of the shortcuts made, this fence (not even appropriately set at the right depth in concrete), would have blown over and collapsed after the first wind storm. He wasn't even able to follow a simple design, and didn't seem to care. This company had pulled stunts like this prior, per their negative online reviews, and we saw a complaint on file with the contractor's board; we just wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. Can't recommend him and currently in a battle just trying to get some resolution. With a strong need to be 'right', a refusal to apologize or understand all that went wrong, it's time to visit the State Contractor's board and perhaps even small claims court. This is the first time I have ever had to write a negative review, and it pains me to do so, but we are actually experienced home owners and home builders, that just needed help during a busy time getting a rather large fence built. We put our trust into Seth and he took advantage. I hope Mr. Overby will eventually learn from his mistakes as he's actually a nice guy who either is just too inexperienced to be working in his trade. His lack of communication forces me to write this to protect others.
