I have used Horizon Fence Co. before: about 4 years ago. I did not hesitate to use them again. They installed 50 feet of a stepped-down, 7 ft. high fence that blew down during a recent storm. The new layout was somewhat complicated in order to get the posts in just the right spots. The 2 man crew did it right. No problem! They removed the old fence debris and cleaned up their work area. We love our new custom gates from Horizon! Nick, the estimator, was great. We had him out last year after we were disappointed with another companies work and he gave us some great ideas for improvement. Last month we decided to proceed with changing out both gates for custom gates with special locks, and a small portion of a redwood retaining wall. Nick came back out and was just so wonderful again and showed us different lock options we could order. They got us scheduled reasonably fast and the 2 day job completed about a week ago now and we couldn't be more pleased! I should have written this before I forgot our workers names, but hopefully I have one right. I think it was Gilberto? The workers were great and worked so hard even when it was hot. They were very respectful and listened to all our requests. The gates are beautiful! I forgot to take pictures before we stained them. The quality is top notch and so much better than we could imagine. They are strong and nice thick beautiful, quality redwood. The boss even came out and reviewed the job in progress. Our prior company had done such a poor job so Horizon fixed the unevenness the last company caused so everything is aligned and level now and at the correct height. On the other side of the house was an old chain link, and when Horizon removed the pole that was attached to the house, they filled the holes in the wall for us at no charge. The portion of retaining wall they replaced is very beautiful and strong now! We ended up having them add on to the project a small concrete slab under the side that only had rock before and the concrete is beautiful and was reasonably priced. We just couldn't be happier. Everything is beautiful and the locking, strong, quality custom gates makes our house feel more secure now. We hope to have Horizon back to do the fence with our neighbor soon! read more

Horrible experience. Got bids from two contractors. Essentially price was same. Decided to go with Horizon. They ripped out more fence than was on the Estimate and Then ran out of supplies and had to piece together 2X10s at the end (not acceptable)! Placed the latch on the gate backwards. Cut through neighbors sprinkler tubing, left screws and nails all over the ground in the gravel, and during this two day job, left my backyard in my neighbors backyard completely insecure. Not even construction barrier preventing people from the street to walk into our backyards. Workmen smoked cigarettes in our yards back-and-forth from their work truck. Reached out to the owner Chris. The only time I heard from him was when he came to collect his payment. It was seven in the morning and I had not even had a chance to really look at the details of the fence. When I reached back out to speak with him, the office manager Cathy called me back instead of the owner and told me that the latch was supposed to be on that side of the gate ( wrong) and all this other nonsense. At the end of the day Chris needs to take leadership as well as ownership or his company will continue to struggle. read more

Had horizon fencing to a relatively large project on my property they brought in a whole bunch of dirt built a retaining wall and replaced about 85% of the fencing on my property with a mix of dog ear and chain link. Just wanted to ammend my review. The fence work is good. However there was an issue with the dirt coming out from beneath the retaining wall. This has left holes and sunken spots in my yard.. I've given them months to fix it and even offered to buy some dirt. They gave me excuses, and the last three time I have called I have gotten no response. read more

A neighbor recently had a beautiful wrought iron fence installed, and I drove by during the project several times a day, marveling at the speed and precision of the work being done. Once they were finished, I contacted the neighbor to find out who did the job. I called Horizon, met with Nick the estimator, and in no time, we had a magnificent fence replacing our rather industrial-looking cyclone fencing. Watching the craftsmen who made the fence was like watching an artist create a sculpture. Each panel was measured, cut, welded and finished with a level of skill and precision that is almost unheard of today. To say say that I am pleased is an understatement. Chris, Jeff, Hector, Johnny and Nick, and Kathy in the office, were all awesome! They are currently custom crafting a new wrought iron drive gate with our initial and street number, and we are very excited to have it installed. And, our neighbors are delighted with the fencing, with several of them stopping to ask me who did the work, just like I did. Look, no one really wants to spend money on new fencing. It's not fun money to spend. That said, if you are put in a situation where you need a new fence, Horizon Fence is a great company to use. I have a few reasons why I feel this way: 1. I called five different highly rated fencing companies (including Horizon Fence) and they were all booked out through June. Including the estimators who come out for the initial visit. Horizon was willing to work with me once I explained my situation to them, and they were able to get out their estimator within a couple of days. So my first reason for using them is great customer service. 2. Nick, the estimator they sent out, was fantastic. He was knowledgeable, he was professional, and he explained all of my options to me as he was measuring and going through the process. Again, this goes back to customer service. 3. Although they were busy and had numerous jobs that they were working through, they worked with me to try and meet my timeline for the installation of the fence, due to other contractors that I had coming in. 4. Although their price was not the cheapest, it was competitive. And after seeing the finished work it was worth every penny. 5. The crews that came to my house to do the work, of which I had two different crews, were clearly skilled at their work. I work out of my home office quite a bit, so I was able to watch them and they worked consistently (no slacking), and were very efficient at what they do. I have built several fences on my own, and I caught myself more than once saying, "why didn't I do that that way". I had standard good neighbor fencing, and board on board fencing with a decorative trim and cap piece, and a steel frame gate door that they custom built and installed. The quality of the wood was good. The quality of the furniture (all of the hinges and gate latches) were thick gauge and made of high-quality. The custom steel frame for the gate door was of the same quality. The on-site welding they did was clean and good quality too. All of the work was exceptional. 6. Ginger and Summer in the office were great to work with as well. They were very responsive to the things that I asked for when working through the quotes, very responsive with scheduling, and very responsive with my final invoice once the job was completed. Again, I know we're talking about fencing here, but the work was really quite beautiful. I've had several neighbors and friends comment on how nice the fencing and the work is. And both of my neighbors who were also part of this project are very happy with the work as well. So I want to say THANK YOU to the team at Horizon. I'm sure that not only will I use you for future projects, but I will refer my friends when they are looking for services that I know you can handle, because I know you do in-house steel fabrication and motorized gates as well. Fence is nice BUT.... One gate is sawed on an angle on the bottom instead of the dirt being dug away to make the fence straight on the bottom. AND you have to sign an agreement that if they hit your irrigation piping that they are NOT responsible. Which is fine BUT the lack of knowledge from one of the young guys who not only hit TWO different irrigation pipes, BUT hit them MULTIPLE times to bust em up really good is just unacceptable. It cost me another 1k to have the pipes replaced. read more

We had an RV gate done, front fence, and fence shared with the neighbor. These guys did an amazing job. We chose the board on board design and it came out flawless. The wood they used is pressure treated and super sturdy. Our RV gate is somewhat of a complicated design because it's next to a drainage canal. I'm so disappointed in this company. I will try to keep this brief. We got our back fence done by Horizon Fence Co 2 years ago. We were very happy with it and I had no reason not to hire them again. My bad. I asked for an estimate for BOTH side fences. I asked SPECIFICALLY for the EXACT SAME STYLE OF FENCE as my back fence. Got the estimate and it was fair. So i signed and we started. The office manager has terrible customer service skills. Scheduling was delayed and I had no idea as it was not communicated to me. Finally several days later work begins. Workers show up late and they're gone by the time I get home from work. i only work 8a-2p. Same thing the next day. They arrive late and leave early. When I finally start to see some progress I notice that the fence I wanted is not being built. My back fence is board over board and thats what I asked for. This new fence was side by side! I called and after dealing with the rude office manager I was told that I signed the contract and that I agreed to this type of fence. I trusted them to write up an estimate like I asked and THEY made a mistake. Now I'm paying for it. Work was supposed to last 4 days and it lasted double that. When fence was done I called and asked what could be done. They said nothing it looks fine. I waited three month and boards had shrunk so much there were one inch gaps between boards. Called again. They wrote me an estimate for another $1200 to add 4 inch boards to all the gaps. 1) it would look terrible and 2) Im not paying another $1200 on top of my already very expensive fence. They made a bad estimate. The quality of the fence is poor. The work took twice as long as the promised. Good luck dealing with the woman who answers the phone. Oh! And I wrote them and asked them to work with me. That I didn't want to write a bad yelp review if they would help me fix this fence. They never responded. Thats not good business practice. I do not recommend them and I would not use them again myself. read more

Very impressed with the work of this company. The crew was able to fully remove 3 HUGE stumps on the fence line and replace about 80ft of fence within a single day. Very impressive. They left my property in incredible shape after and were very respectful and communicative. The ability to spit the invoice between the various properties was much appreciated. I have never reviewed on Yelp before, however the customer service of this company needed to be addressed. Horizon replaced one fence and gate at my home. My neighbors had used them before and wanted to use them again. The fence and gate were two different jobs and it took awhile, but they arrived on time and were professional. However, the latch on the gate was flimsy and would not stay shut. My dogs got out three times. I called them and a technician came out. In our conversation he agreed that although it was standard it was flimsy. He told me to go to Home Depot and get another one, which I did. I rescheduled and rescheduled and was stood up four times. It was obvious to me this was intentional. It took a lot of time and energy to be treated so poorly and disrespectful. read more

Poor follow-up customer service. We do no recommend them. We had a fence and gate, with a Liftmaster remote, built by Horizon Fence in November 2020. Everyone was polite and professional and everything went according to schedule. And when a very strong wind storm blew one of the gate doors off it's hinges, they came a week later and fixed it. The quality of work is good. However, I would not recommend them, because, in the end, when the remote stopped working they would not return our calls or text messages to fix it. After paying them several thousand dollars for all this work I was hoping for good customer service. They left us high and dry. We called A & D remote gate repair and they came and trouble shooted the problem and fixed it for us. It ended up being a bad arm that needed to be replaced. Since it was still under warranty Liftmaster sent a replacement arm at not charge. Horizon also didn't register our Liftmaster unit with the Liftmaster company, so A & D's repairman did it. A & D's repairman also went over the functions of the unit in detail to help me trouble shoot any future problems. Since Horizon would not return our calls and left us with a broken product in the end I cannot recommend them. read more

Originally called for an estimate and we got one right away!!! They were very prompt at the beginning. We decided to wait a few mo this to start the project. Once we did, it took several weeks to a month for them to come out. They rescheduled us 3 times with very little notice. The work that they did was excellent!!!! The fence looks great. We had an issue with a post shifting possibly due to the cement not drying. Called immediately for a repair, was told "we are really busy. I am not saying this is not important but we will get out when we can". I was told it would be a week. After 3 weeks of no one showing up or calling, I called them. They were sorry for the delay but didn't see us scheduled anywhere. Seem a bit disorganized and perhaps over booked. In terms of the work and how the fence looks, no complaints. Hoping my fence gets repaired soon. read more

Amazing company to work with from start to finish! We had a hard time finding a company willing to set our gate and install operator arms for various reasons. This company was up to the challenge, no problem, and super accommodating! The estimator came out and worked with me as I had him modify the estimate a couple times. When it came to having the project started, the guys on site clearly knew what they were doing, showed up on time, super respectful, and even worked until later than what most would want to on a Friday evening just to make sure it was all set up properly. They then took the time to walk me through how the operator arms work, with the solar, how to reprogram the remotes if needed, etc. Will definitely use them again! read more
