This little coffee shop is a hidden gem. I love the ambiance. It's small, but cozy. Not to mention the excellent service from the baristas. I went there for the first time and they recommend a coffee for me. I tried their seasonal lavender latte with oat milk. It was so good and well balanced. Well call me a devout fan of this highly reputable coffee roaster. I first heard of this joint from a friend who now lives in New Jersey. He was so hooked during his time in Olympia that till this day, he still ships bags of the Big Truck organic beans to NJ. That was 4 years ago! I have been impressed with their beans and have brought bags home to friends in NY. People have all been asking for more. They also make a wicked oat latte. I had never seen a coffee house that weighed the amount of fresh grind before an espresso. Their dedication to the craft is reflected in the quality and taste of their product. I look forward to returning. Thanks to a great product and a lot of high end coffee fiends back in New York, I am now a full time coffee transporter every time I fly back to NY. read more

I am a starbucks addict. There, I said it. I travel often for work so I usually work out of starbucks to get the admin work done but passed by here on my previous trip to Olympia. So last week when I was there I decided to visit there on my first day and fell in love. I went here three days in a row and got the same drink each time! The cafe itself is super moden and pristine reminding me of an elegant brewery mixed with fine art. There are plenty of table to sit at and great wifi with the password sweetheart. During my first visit, the barista who wants to go to CNA school recommended their nitro iced coffee telling me it was the closest to cold brew that they had, but was better as it had a citrusy flavor. She offered me a sample and it was good! Once she served me a large size of it, which was well worth the $6 + tip, It tasted even better in bigger gulps! The citrus ending was an amazing way to finish each strong taste! Throughout the three days, I probably spoke to 5 different Baristas getting either the coffee, water, or a pastry. They were all super nice and friendly making you feel at home. One of them told me they liked working there and it was a great place to get work done since it was normally pretty quiet. They were right, it was filled with students, young professionals, families, etc but were all respectful and their to do something while enjoying a delicious drink! Okay ,so I've been here a couple times and waited to review, mainly to see if they were consistent with the Awesomeness! I absolutely love it here. It's trendy and charming! As you walk in you're greeted instantly by a friendly smiling face! Customer service is spot on! There is a little section selling merchandise and place to charge your phone/laptop. WiFi If you work nearby or let's say The City Hall or the Police Dept, I envy you because you can walk across the street for a cup of Awesomeness anytime you please! Worst americano I've had to date, they put a single shot of espresso in 16 oz of water, no one does that.

The smell as you walk in is sensational! Note that at a coffee roasting company when you order a mocha you won't be getting a sugary chemically tasting beverage, but a pure chocolate sauce (less sweet) with a flavorful brew of coffee. They know their coffee beans. The pastries were absolutely delicious. During Covid there is no indoor seating and the selection of food is limited. Great service, great coffee, a little hipster but they remind me of Vivace in Capitol Hill. Their coffee is nice and flavorful. I prefer their Big Truck blend, "heavy flavors of sweet chocolate, dense fruit, and a long clean finish". They have plenty of seating for you to meet up with a friend or to people watch. We were recently in Olympia and needed lattes to get the day going. Street parking was easy and free on Sunday. The counter help was super friendly. The baked goods in the case looked yummy but we didn't partake. Our lattes were great. They use a lighter roast than I'm used to for their espresso, but still tasty. read more

Nice ambiance and clean store. I visited on a busy Friday morning and was able to get a seat by the window. I got a sugarish mocha drink and it was good. Place had a good vibe and I was able to concentrated for a couple of hours to work. Will be back when we are back to the area. read more

Great coffee and nice people. However, twice now I have come to work from this coffee shop and my devices connect to the wifi signal, but there is no internet. I have tried with two different laptops, one windows and one Mac, and two iPhones. Nothing, nada. I asked about this and they said that some devices just don't like the network but if their music is playing then that means the internet is working. Also that they have looked at it multiple times and can't figure out the problem. Then, as a coffee shop, shouldn't you switch out your equipment? They made this sound like it happens often, and again happens across 4 different devices of mine. I now am wasting my work time having to drive back home to work, after I spent almost $7 at this coffee shop, because they can't get their internet figured out......as a coffee shop. I just don't see how they think this is not incredibly disrupting to their customers. read more

Yummy!! This croissant was absolutely delicious. The oat milk chai was perfect as well. My husband got a latte, which I didn't get a sip of because I was too focused on my delicious order. I was traveling through town during a drive that went from three hours to five. My back was already hurting and I was in need of coffee. I like the space at this location. Is convenient enough, spacious and their bathroom hilariously has two toilets side by side which my husband and I like to laugh about. We stopped by this shop as we often do in our way up from Portland and my husband got his latte and our daughter got her croissant. I got a 16 Oz drip and was ready to go. And I don't know what it was but I was surprised by how.... bad the coffee tasted. And I'm not a coffee snob at all. I normally drink my coffee black as I've come to appreciate the taste of the coffee itself. But this cup..eek! It tasted a bit dark. For transparency, I like medium roasted beans and make my coffee at home using an aeropress with water that's been heated to 185-195 degrees. And, again, I'm not an elitist or anything like that. I think I've just gotten accustomed to the way I make coffee at home. I asked if I could change my drink to a soy latte and they happily obliged to replacing my drip and wouldn't let me pay for the difference. And they listened to me without judgment when I tried to figure out what I did not enjoy about the drink - because I believe feedback is good without being rude. (I honestly think that whatever I had might've been boiled at either too high a temperature or the beans were just too dark for that batch) Either way, I walked out happily with a pretty great tasting oat latte (because they didn't have soy) that kept me awake on our drive north. I usually do not review if I do not like it. But here I decided to give a feedback, since I am also do the same job in coffee shop. Have a little experience here. I got mocha. Chocolate mix was good, but I did not like a flavor of oat milk. Its stronger than usual, so it makes beverage flavor unbalanced. And I was really surprised when I got croissant with almond stale-hard like a stone. I came back, but you cant heat it up. read more

This place is the reason why I even regret sometimes moving away from Olympia Washington. I loved to go and work on things, read, write, etc. I always got a latte and a almond croissant. While visiting my best friend over a week who's baby has cancer I grabbed coffee from this shop since it was recommended by my friend. I went in for 3 days with the same mask and nothing was said. However, I never left a tip because the two girls working were so rude and stuck up. 4th day in of my trip same as others went to get coffee. The girls had asked me to change mask they didn't approve. I left and not into head games because they have feeling hurt because I won't tip for attitude. Also, first day a local guy was wearing the same mask and nothing was said. I contacted the owner and a very nice lady reached out since he was unavailable. I appreciate the kind words and for validating the poor experience. By the end of the week after this story had come across many times within our group of friends. It seems as though this location has many issues on going because of this snobby behavior. It's too bad because the coffee is actually good the service is just not. read more

Easy to find location, fair price for my foamy Latte the store interior was implacable clean w/ a good vibe as well. The vibe here was really great - so many friendly patrons and staff members chatting us up. Super inviting. We came here initially as we heard the coffee was good. I vaguely remember this coffee but I didn't know from where until I saw they won top prize for coffee in Denver. Being from Denver, I know how stiff the competition is so that impressed me and I'm sure I heard of this place through a news outlet after they won. We just went with a straight black cup of coffee that sounded good to us and it did not disappoint. I wish we could have done a tasting but it wasn't in the cards for us. For the record...Olympia Coffee Roasters serves hands down the best pour over coffee in Washington state. With a delicious selection of single origin and sometimes blends to choose from, you will have no problem finding a coffee that blows you away. Baristas are super knowledge on the coffee notes and flavors and always love to chat coffee. If you want to play a fun game don't read the flavor notes on the pour over menu. Ask the barista to surprise you with their favorite on the menu today, enjoy it, and try to guess which one it was. Good conversations always arise in the guessing game!
