Olympia Provisions is consistently one of our favorite places to frequent in PDX. Great location, fun ambiance, pleasant staff, fabulous food! We are typically brunch people, making it here most often on a Saturday or Sunday for a late brunch. Their benedicts are to die for... truly, they're all wonderful. Their Laser Potato is out of this world. Truly, my favorite item on their menu. It is fabulous in all ways. I often take a side of it home just to enjoy later. We recently tried them for dinner. Their muscles are OUT OF THIS WORLD. Truly, the best I've ever had. This beats living in the southeast on the coast, any west-coast seafood restaurant, and every place I've ever enjoyed in Italy. They've certainly topped the muscle game. Highly recommend Olympic Provisions. I will gladly vouch that the negative reviews are from the haters, just to hate. Olympic Provisions is a great spot for happy hour, especially if you're an oyster lover - like myself! On Wednesdays, oysters are just $1 each, so of course we had to order two dozen to share! We also tried the tartare, which came with some toasted bread, and the gnocchi - which was rich! I'd give the oysters an 8/10, they were fresh overall, although I did come across a few shell fragments. They're best known for their incredible house cured meats, so I was pleasantly surprised to see oysters on the menu. Even on a Wednesday night, the restaurant was packed. In town for a meeting, set up reservations with a few colleagues for dinner. In the southeast part of town, the restaurant is located in a renovated factory facility. Inside there is a full bar, indoor and outside seating. We were greeted by the hostess immediately that welcomed us and provided a brief history of the place. The company has a couple of restaurants, including this one, in the Portland area but it got its start as the state's 1st USDA salumeria, specializing in artisan charcuterie. The entire wall behind the bar is filled with wine, beer and spirits, top to bottom. Of coarse a Pinot Noir was the choice, paired with the gnocchi vignarola and finished with the chocolate basque cheesecake. I enjoyed every bit of this meal. read more

After a half hour wait at my table (a very nice one) I ordered a delicious BLT and a tasty ginger lime drink and tried to enjoy myself. My wife and I arrived at peak brunch hour, we placed reservations (as expected for a trendy location) arrived 20 min early but were sat within minutes. The artist formerly known as Price played overhead. A light warm breeze lapped at my ankles, while the AC froze my left shoulder. The Bloody Mary's (spicy as I am dirty slut who needs a beer back) were warming. We opted for the 'Brunch for two' which was the correct option. The tarragon and acidity balanced the salad course, while salty, fortifying undertones during the charcuterie course brought the quality of THE MEAT forward. We finished bloodies and opted for a spritz each. The Ham Benedict slapped with the 'laser potatoe' stealing the show. By this time the relaxed pacing welcomed warm summer air into the warehouse. A group of bears, fresh from pride weekend clucked over the to-go options. A couple sat nearby looking at homes, clearly in love and excited for what tomorrow's dreams held. Then the blackberry short cake dessert arrived; wow cream, berry, soft malt, air(?), so good. My spouse and I left full, satisfied, and hopeful for tomorrow. I cannot think of any restaurant that does cured meats, particularly Alpine style, and fermented veggies any better! I was between lunch and dinner, but just finished a flight of Westward whiskey nearby. I needed to take the hunger edge off and walked by for a bratwurst and cabbage. My friends and I had been wanting to try this place. We had a reservation and got in right away. The atmosphere is very low key, comfy and welcoming. Service was excellent, super friendly, helpful and efficient. One friend and I got the Queen of Clubs cocktail, it's similar to an espresso martini, but a bit sweeter and smoother. It was nicely chilled, which was excellent on a heat warning, 100 degree day. My friend also later ordered the Purple Noon, which is a vodka, blackberry and lemon drink. I tasted it and it was like a very refreshing lemonade. We decided to order some things and split them all. The veggie eggs benedict was so flavorful and had lots of different veggies. Their hot cakes are thick, fluffy and like clouds of heaven. They are so good they don't need much butter or syrup. We loved the BLT and the Spanish charcuterie board was also wonderful: great salami, chorizo, ham, brie with cranberry chutney, toasted almonds. Been wanting to go for years and finally found an opportunity on our anniversary. We decided we didn't want a fine dining atmosphere this year and just a more laid-back locale with high-quality cuisines. Their staple, of course is the charcuterie boards and they did not disappoint. Salad was nice but the steak tartare for us was the highlight. They do make a mean, strong, delicious old-fashioned as well. Overall great staff, but they default 20% gratuity and tack on a 3% wellness. I have very mixed opinions about asking customers to pay for employee healthcare when it is the employers responsibility. So I have to pay more just because I order more? But it is what it is. You can opt to remove it however. read more

Got sat immediately during lunch on a weekday. Ordered the tartare and garlic soup. I asked if they had lattes and they recommended me go down the hall while I wait for my order for a coffee at ranger chocolate how fun! The tartare hit the spot. Ice cold, the meat was fresh, Briney from the olives. Delicious would get again. Garlic soup, very rich. Never had it before it was delightful. Came here after running the Portland marathon in early October. There was a group of about 8 of us and I was surprised about how slow the service was. We were sitting for a solid hour before we got our food and after running, sitting is the worst thing you could do for your body. We thought it was going to be a quick in and out but it was busy and it seemed like our server was like the only server throughout the whole restaurant because she never checked on us! Also it took forever to get the bill. I didn't care for the industrial look because the seats were hard. I got the pumpkin pancakes and they were underdone. I thought their boards were such a fun and unique way to try different meats and cheeses of the highest quality. I got the Halibut for my entree and my favorite part were the fava beans--they had so much flavor. My boyfriend got the steak special with a blue cheese sauce. The sauce was incredible, but it was so rich I could see myself getting palette fatigue pretty easily. They steak was also too fatty for me, but perfect for him. I was disappointed that on weekends they only serve brunch-you can't order off the lunch menu. So no beef tartare. I ordered 3 oysters on the half shell and they were some of the best I've had-plump and tasty. I ordered another 3! Pumpkin soup was really good. Husband liked his pork roll sandwich. We waited a LONG time for our food, which is why i only have a picture of my salad-2/3 of it. It was monstrous, enough for 3. And so delicious! Chicory and radicchio with anchovy vinaigrette and grana padano on top. But i really don't like salad in giant leaves-you have to either cut it all up with a knife or have it hanging out of your mouth like you're eating pho noodles. Husband's side salad was the same. Despite my mediocre review today, I do recommend this restaurant. Olympia Provisions have a place in my heart because I've ate here since their opening year, 15 years ago. Each dish was good, from appetizers to dessert. They are known for their charcuterie and sausages - these are usually the best picks from their menu. I took one star off of the original 4 stars because our breaded deep fried pork dish was still raw. We had to send it back. There was NO apology. The other meat entree we had was good but meat on the small portion. I took another star off because the service was very slow and it took over 45 minutes after ordering for our first dish to arrive. Then the rest of the food trickled in slowly. For example - My soup arrived 1.5 hours later. There is auto-gratuity of 20%, regardless of party size. They also add on 3% for employee wellness. We didn't have a reservation and I am appreciative that they had room for us. However, the wait staff just wasn't on the top of their game. They initially sat us in a very cold part of the restaurant near the entrance and facing the vintage doors that had wind coming in. No heat came in that area at all. There were 4 open tables in the "annex", next to the main dining area and people were leaving since it was around 7:45 now. We had to proactively ask if we can sit in that area since it was warmer with heaters over there. Then they moved us. read more

As someone who enjoys bold seasoning, I typically welcome assertive flavors. But here, the dishes felt more assertive than nuanced. It's clear there's care behind the menu, and perhaps other selections would speak to me differently. I wouldn't rule out returning as there's a lot to appreciate about what they're building here. The restaurant is located in what seems to be a warehouse location. Once located, the restaurant has great decorations. Shares part of the building with office space but they really do make it work. One order of charcuterie is enough for one person. The regional ones are a great option. The presentation and quality was great. We also got the Pheasent liver pate with foie gras, it was melt in your mouth satisfying! Service, atmosphere, and food was all amazing. Highly recommended! read more

The Randy's and Italian Grinder were some of the best sandwiches I've had! Their cured meats can't be beat, obviously. Very fresh, and perfectly seasoned. The Randy's had a great balance of sweetness from the apple with the savoriness of the ham and creaminess from the blue cheese. All wrapped up in a crusty yet chewy ciabatta. The Grinder was like no other grinders that I've had. The abundance of meat was not overly salty at all and the vinegar and pickled vegetables added the necessary tang and freshness to the whole sandwich. We also loved the Steak Tartare. Again, very flavorful and well-seasoned. They're amazing at toasting their baguette as well. Nothing to complain about. Open and cozy ambience. Casual yet attentive service. We got the beef tartar, which was amazing, it was flavorfull, tender, and came with fresh bread that was grilled to perfection (seriously, we were weirdly impressed with how perfectly golden brown the bread was prepared lol) Then we got the Randy (apple, blue cheese, ham, etc.) And the grinder (mortadella, a few different salamis, olive oil + vinegar, etc.). Came for lunch and for my first meal in Portland, it really set the bar high! Service was exceptional and had a yummy cocktail to start with. I love sandwiches and The Randy really called to me because I'd never seen a sandwich with ham, apples, blue cheese, hazelnuts, frisee, shallots and aoili. During our visit to Portland during Labor Day weekend (yes...very delayed review), we hit up Olympia Provisions not once, but twice! It was really that great for us! We were seated in the back area, which is very open and well lit. It's a rather interesting space in that area but I found it quite pleasant. Our dinner eats: Homemade Focaccia This was some very delicious focaccia. We were all over it. When we returned for happy hour a couple of days later, I asked about it since it wasn't automatically given. Unfortunately, it's not ready yet for happy hour. Spanish Charcuterie Board $28 I love a good board - cheese, meats, all of it. This version had three Spanish salamis, sweetheart ham, fresh chorizo, fried almonds, miticana, and piquillo pepper salad. (We were actually at a Farmer's Market earlier that day and did not realize we had actually sampled and purchased some of the salami from the Olympic Provisions booth. On our way out, I noticed the salami in the fridge available to purchase and recognized it then.) Steak Tartare $18 x 2 I love a great steak tartare and theirs did not disappoint. It was so good that we had a second order. The kids really enjoyed their version, as it was the second time having it that weekend. They do an amazing job with hand cutting the meat and it's amazingly fresh and just delightful. One of the best versions I've had. Heirloom Tomatoes $16 It had such great flavors with the tarragon, cottage cheese, and focaccia crumbs. Octopus a la Pancha $24 Tender and not overcooked, with a great salsa verde on top. Cantabrian Brown Anchovies $7 Anchovies on Normandy butter on baguette, pretty simple and delicious. Our return visit 2 days later for happy hour... Tinned La Brujula Sardines $17 Another board - simple with canned sardines, pickled onions, butter, lemon...I probably need to start serving it this way at home. Steak Tartare $18 x 2 This did not disappoint. We got two orders again and everyone is just fighting for the last bit. Overall, both visits were great! Service was personable, generally attentive (more so at dinner than at happy hour), and an enjoyable experience all around. The food looked and tasted amazing and left such a memorable impression of Portland on us. Months later and we still talk about Olympic Provisions. read more

One of my favorite spots in Portland! Service is always great and it's super cute inside. I make it a point to visit each time I'm in town since the food is consistently good and the menus switch up from time to time for seasonal ingredients. My favorite charcuterie board is the French board, although the Spanish one is pretty tasty as well. I love their Italian Grinder and the salad that comes with. You can also buy the charcuterie items to go and the aged salamis travel really well. read more

Olympia Provisions exemplifies what I like best about dining in the PNW: excellent food created with high quality ingredients in an unpretentious setting. We had an incredibly nourishing and satisfying meal. The agnolotti was cooked perfectly, the tomato soup was very comforting, and the short ribs had deeply savory umami flavor. The beer list is too short. My one bit of constructive criticism would be to include more styles of local beers to showcase the talented brewers in this city. There's an extensive wine list and a nice cocktail program. The dining room is beautiful industrial chic, and the service is impeccable. It can get loud in there, and the tables can be close together enough to hear your neighbors conversations. There are a lot more hidden gems in the Central Eastside industrial district than most people realize, as the rough exteriors of these crusty, crumbling constructions conceals these treasures from untrained, unadventurous eyes. Olympia Provisions is one of the best examples of these sequestered sanctuaries: from the outside, this rugged rise of corn-colored concrete practically encourages you to look the other way as you pass by. Other than the easy-to-miss neon "restaurant" sign and the half-open sliding barn doors give any hint as to the wonderful things that await within. What are those things, you may ask? A singular selection of craft cocktails and charcuteries, with all manner of cold cuts and cheeses, shareable sides, and hearty entrées both small and large, all served up in a classy, "secret-speakeasy-meets-deli-counter" ambiance that transports you away from the fragged-and-tagged downtown dystopia just outside its walls. My wife and I split the Italian charcuterie board, as well as a three-cheese selection (choosing a bleu, a goat and a sheep's milk manchego), a glass of crisp, dry white Jacquerre, and a "Terra Incognita" mezcal cocktail: light, citrus-y, and satisfyingly strong and sour. Charcuterie boards are all the rage these days, and Olympia Provisions capitalizes on this trend with profound, potent and pungent proteins of all peculiarities. Our Italian board consisted of two fantastically thick, hard salamis, nice spiced mortadella (with a curiously "autumn" flavor profile; try it and you'll understand what I mean), a juicy Italian sausage that would be very welcome on any breakfast or brunch menu, an assortment of olives, and a robust, fragrant, semi-soft spreadable Taleggio. And baguette slices, of course. Our cheese plate was an exceptional edible arrangement of various tastes and textures, from the smooth and bitter bite of the bleu, the soft and spreadable goat, and the dense but delightful sheep's milk manchego, which was reminiscent of a hard cheddar, and my personal favorite, particularly when paired with the similarly stout salamis. Although, truth be told, the best thing about charcuterie is mixing and matching each element to discover new and exciting flavor combinations, and there was no configuration of these ingredients that disappointed in any way. Finding what works for you is part of the fun! This Olympia Provisions location is a perfect example of why you should never judge a book by its cover, as doing so would deprive you of some truly impeccable edibles, cunning cocktails, an enchanting environment, and stellar service. This is one of our favorite places to go to in Portland. The vibe the food. The service is all pretty awesome.

The oysters were great, especially on Wednesday, they were $1 each. Great old-fashioned. Service and the ambiance were fine. Nothing spectacular about the Spanish or the Italian tables, not bad, but nothing to write home about. The gnocchi had a great flavor but the texture was off, mushy, and too soft. La Nonna needs to come and show the chef how is gets done. The paste lacked personality and flavor (big disappointment for me), on the other hand, the mortadella was superb. Not impressed with the other dry cuts (I remember them being more flavourful). The chocolate cake was great!!! read more

Driving up to this restaurant, we realized we were in a sketchy part of town. Like don't park your car here, take an uber. I had hoped the food would be worth it. Unfortunately, the only thing good there is the charcuterie. Forget the entrees, they'll turn your guts before you even get to bed. The zero-proof cocktails were so gross. Both of them. Couldn't finish either of them. Cute atmosphere but everyone working there looked miserable, only pretend smiling when they got up to your table. Otherwise, scowls on everyone. Which made the energy suck. I wouldn't recommend for anything other than a stop for charcuterie during the middle of the day. Definitely not for dinner. read more

Came here on a work dinner and it was absolutely delicious. We had the place basically to ourself...interesting part of town but this place is a literal diamond in the rough.
