Excellent!! I have been wanting to try a Brazilian for years and have been a little nervous to do so. I am heading out to a tropical vacation and decided to finally get one. Looked on Yelp and Olympia Wax Bar has amazing reviews, especially for Pamalee. I made an online appt which was super easy as their website and reservation system is very user friendly and simple to use. I received reminders leading up to the day of my appt which I appreciated. The spa is very clean, minimalistic, and welcoming. I loved all the humorous signs and products they offer. Pamalee was on time and very nice to talk to. She made me feel very comfortable and eased my nerves. I have never had a Brazilian so I don't know what to compare it with but based on how painful everyone says it is I would say she is amazing because, although not comfortable, the pain was relatively quick and was short lived. Pamalee is a professional and has been waxing a long time and it shows in how she explained things, how efficient she was, and how comfortable she made me feel in what could be a vulnerable and embarrassing procedure. The prices seemed on par with normal prices in the area for similar services. Easy parking. The business is right next to Outback Steakhouse. Lots of appointment times in the convenient hours they are open. Especially if you book in advance. All told, I am a fan! I'll be back next time I need some waxing done! This wasn't just my first wax here, but my first full Brazilian bikini wax, ever. I would assume that the people who work here, know what they are doing, and wouldn't need instruction on how to get things done. I booked an appointment online and set up my card info. I arrived a few minutes early, filled out my paperwork, and then was taken into a room. The room was clean and pleasant but the towel they give you is small, not made for anyone who is a bit heavier. Also, the bed is a bit high so you really gotta jump or crawl up there. My appointment was booked out for 30 min, I believe. The girl, and I forget her name, only took 15 min. I did the sugar waxing and it hurt like hell. As she smothers it onto your skin, sometimes she rugs and it's pulling on hairs before she means to pull it all away. The good thing about waxing is that after it's done, the pain ends there. When I got home, I took a look and noticed A LOT of hairs still down there. Some were stubbles, a few on my inner bikini line, etc. I immediately called a friend who does these all the time and she said I must have gone to a place that doesn't specialize in waxing -- ummmmm for $72 (which is what I paid with a tip) it better be a specialized place. She said when she gets a wax done, it's all gone. No subtle hairs, no strays, nothing. Well, I didn't get that pleasure so I really feel like for one, I didn't get my money's worth, and two, the experience wasn't what it should have been then. For a WAX BAR, I would have expected a lot more. I will admit that the place is clean and easy to get to. They are missing a sign outside, so at first it was hard to even see this place existed but now that I've been here and experienced it, I feel like that part wasn't even worth mentioning. (My first one ever) She did a great job and I found her super personable!I'm a bit dissapointed that all the stubble isn't gone but she told me it's due to different hair growth cycles and that it would even out the more often I get waxed. My first experience getting a Brazilian was five years ago and I was scarred by service I received on top of the pain of course. But I'm a trooper and decided to give it another go for the end result I loved so much haha. After literally calling 15 places around Olympia and Lacey (I had a few hours to kill in town) I found this gem who were able to squeeze in a same day appointment with me. I regret waiting in my car as their boutique in the front was so cute! A lot of things were wayyy over my budget but who doesn't like looking at nice things while they wait. Anyway listen: waxes hurt. Especially waxes down there. But they made it go so fast in such a beautiful, comfortable atmosphere. Also with as non-awkward of a conversation as one can have (lol I am still not used to an OBGYN much less anyone else) as well as with a professional making sure to go at your comfort level and pace. And the wax itself was not only SO much faster than the first time (I remember every moment of that experience trust me) but it was also WAAYY less painful??!! How?!! I don't know either. I did a lot of research before deciding to try Oly Wax Bar. The pictures I saw online were great. I have no doubt that Pamalee can do good brows. However, that was just not my experience. I have difficult brows, so I did go back a few times hoping to get a better result. I even used a booster in between, with no tweezing, and several weeks wait to let them grow out. Regardless, I still left a couple times with holes in my brows and just never felt happy with them. I have since found somewhere I love and don't have any holes! read more
