Very unpleasant experience. Kept telling me my eyebrows are to big and manly. I asked her to please just keep my shape and she told me shape was not right for me. Repeatedly referred to me as an Indian girl and saying Indians always want thick strong brows. (Im Hispanic) I distinctly said please do not thin out my eyebrows and she did exactly that. I booked an appointment 3 days prior to coming in, and when I showed up at her she told me that she "forget I booked an appointment" with her. Then, she asked if I could wait 20 more minutes to complete another client's appointment instead, even when the other client arrived well after me. I'm not sure if it's because I was a new client and her other one had been coming in for a longer time than myself, but either way it seemed pretty unprofessional to me. I hate giving a lower rating to Van as she did take her time with my eyebrows and she is definitely talented at threading, but I don't like wasting my time and she was not incredibly apologetic for her mistake. Just left Van's for my first brow job. I've had my brows done in several different states and I've never had anyone be as attentive as Van. She's kinda like an eyebrow mama....scolding me for over plucking and telling me that my eyebrows are two different shapes (whoops!). I'm thrilled with my new (similarly shaped) brows. I also love that Van's place allows you to recline where I've always had to sit when I've gotten threaded. Van also did some complimentary tinting, which I've never had done. There's plenty of parking (and thank you to all previous reviewers for noting it's a house - but there is good signage so I found it easy to locate!). I have been going here about a year and have really enjoyed her service. However the last couple times my eyebrows have been poorly done and I have left bleeding. This time doesn't even look like I had them threaded. I have long eyebrow hairs everywhere and it is not lined up what's so ever. Plus I have a huge bloody spot. I've been going to the one at the mall but for the amount of money paid there I was not happy with the results I was getting. She's an artist! After getting my brows done here, I got a lot of compliments at work. People said I looked better and more awake, but they couldn't put their finger on what was different. Your eyebrows really make your whole face, and I wouldn't trust anyone but her to do them now that I've been in! She also does tinting and does a great job with lashes too. I was able to get an appointment the same day - within the hour even - which was perfect for me. Van took her time assessing my brows and really seemed to work hard at making them look just right. After spending more at other locations for a 5min job that I thought was quite good, I realized that the extra time makes a difference. My brows have never looked better. I will say I was taken off guard when she put tinting on my eyebrow *as* she told me she was going to do it. She is so detail-oriented and will spend the time to assess, trim and shape your brows to perfection!! I usually get my brows and my lip done..last time she threaded my whole face. After the first time I got threaded, she massaged cream around my brows, lips and face and with such a great touch, I knew I had to schedule a facial!!! Usually I get my eyebrows threaded in an Indian parlor. However, living where I do right now, Van was the only salon that offered threading. I decided to visit based on the good reviews I read. I was not disappointed. Yes, I had to wait for about 10-15 minutes but that was alright because I was not in a hurry. Her salon is really cute, smells great with lot's of parking! Usually, eyebrows take about 10 minutes. Van took her time and spent about 30 minutes on my eyebrows. And the end result was better than expected! I felt fresh, clean and really happy. She really wanted to do a good job which is great for customer satisfaction. And she charges almost the same (maybe a little more) than most other salons ($12 for eyebrows and $7 for upper lip).
