I found out about Omar's coffee through a friend and I'm so glad we tried it. The ordering site is very easy to use and within 2-3 days of placing my order it shows up promptly. My favorite is the vanilla caramel mocha. The coffee is a medium bodied and very flavorful. Depending on what you like you need very little creamer. I used to be a light coffee drinker now I've switched to oat milk (I know weird) but it's less calories and no where near as heavy as regular coffee mate. Works perfectly! The bags come in either ground or whole bean. We've gotten both and they are 12oz bags (not resealable so get something to put it in). Their Keurig pods are also flavorful and recommended. My only reason for 4 and not 5 stars is the vanilla mocha Keurig pod seem to clog my machine, maybe the grounds are too large. Check their website or emails they also send coupons all the time! Well balanced good coffee. I only have experience with the generally available pre-ground super market varieties. They are pre ground which makes it a little hard to compare against whole beam. I find these coffees reliable, consistent and if you are stuck I the generic national brands these could be a good stepping point to better coffee. They price is somewhat cheaper than other premium coffees. It's always a good sight to me if a diner or other breakfast spot is offering Omar coffee. It will be better than the generics. These are not my favorite local coffees but they win on price and being approachable b the majority of coffee drinkers. read more

Yes, even chocolate covered coffee beans. They sell a few different varieties of boxed K Cups (Vanilla and Hazelnut) at $5.99 for twelve pods. They also sell individual pods so you can sample their product line and make your own dozens. Pricing is very good, and our Omar's experience was quite enjoyable. There is no secret that I adore a great cup of coffee and have a passion for espresso. My La Marzocco espresso machine was a significant purchase that has provided many years of enjoyment. Keeping this work of art in prime condition like any fine piece of machinery requires the occasional service, primarily for annual maintenance. My local breakfast spot brews Omar Coffee, and I have been a fan of it for years. I bought a new coffee maker and decided I would make the trek out to the actual flagship store to purchase my own supply. Their storefront is part of their warehouse/distribution center. I was so disheartened; I waited inside for over 10 minutes and no one came out to assist me. I could hear the workers laughing and having conversations in the back rooms/offices, but no one ever came out. I left without any coffee, and will not be making the 30 minute drive back to try again. Very disappointing. I hate to leave a review like this, especially for a company whose product I genuinely enjoy; but I think this constructive feedback is warranted. Coffee is great, usually order online which is annoying because I have to pay shipping but I live just miles away. Their hours aren't so customer friendly and are limited. Despite the great joe, all encounters I've had buying at the store haven't been so great. Both older women at the checkout don't seem happy to be doing it and are just miserable looking. Off the beaten path, located in a commercial building. It threw me off because they have a retail store located in the front entrance of the distribution/corporate offices. Being there for 15 min, made me want to work there with the smell of coffee beans throughout the building. The place is super modern, clean and they Marie, who has worked for the company for over 20 years took care off my order. They have pre-packaged ground up 1/2 pound flavors, or you can have Marie bag up what ever size your prefer. They have some of the best coffee around and highly recommend stopping in. read more

I am loathe to reveal what a wonderful find this place is. It is hidden in what appears as a distributor or corporate building but it has a retail space. I developed a taste for their coffee as a student at UCONN and was pleased when Stop and Shop because offering two Omar options but they were useless to me because they were finely ground and I am an avid French Presser... need coarse ground or whole bean. You can get a pound of coffee here for like $7. That's ridiculous considering they will grind is fresh for you and S&S charges $13.00 per lb. The store is adorable and I wish they offered fresh brewed coffee. I'd travel out of my way for it. read more

I really don't like giving bad reviews. Firstly, I love Omar coffee... it's some of the best coffee I have ever tasted. I discovered Omar coffee from a local coffee shop that serves many types of Omar varieties. It's a bit far from my hometown so I figured I'd try to attempt brewing the coffee at home. I personally never enjoyed flavored coffees prior but my favorite is the cinnamon hazelnut - I go through two or three 12 ounce bags a week. I would stop in as the Omar store is on my way to class. The storefront is a small area in the front of the warehouse. Every time I've gone in, the same woman was always the one to ring me out. She always seems so unhappy and inconvenienced when I've come in. I had called ahead recently and asked for 2 lbs of ground coffee that I would come pick up - the woman on the phone was so pleasant and had no problems getting that set aside for me. Of course when I went to pick up, it was the same grumpy woman from prior experiences. What really irritated me was the fact that as I was getting my payment ready, she let out a huge sigh as if I was taking too long! I found it very rude. Now this isn't going to stop me from drinking the coffee as it's absolutely phenomenal but I really wish the main individual that handles walk-in coffee sales had a bit more customer service skills and common manners. read more

Our restaurant has been a loyal customer for last 4+ years .. this past week our coffee maker stopped working so we called for service as we have done before in the past without a problem . Great. Well on this occasion they came out to fix it but needed parts and tech says I'll be back following day . That did not happen . Not even a phone call from them saying they aren't coming and why ?? .. my partner called them finally and Omar Coffee said well you don't buy enough coffee so we aren't coming to fix it ... well thanks a lot for nothing .. we would have paid for parts that's not even the issue .. instead your poorly handled customer service has caused you to LOSE A CUSTOMER... Simply the best. The coffee truck outside my office 30 years ago served Omar coffee. It was such good coffee that my friends and I would run out for a second cup before the truck left at 9:30 am. I was delighted to learn a few months ago that Omar was in Newington and that I could buy delicious Breakfast Blend by the pound. Even my son, who is not very particular about coffee, commented on how good this coffee is. Love Omar coffee! I finally saw a few bags on the shelf at Stop & Shop in Danbury, but Stop & Shop offers very few decaf varieties of any coffee brands, and none in flavors. So I usually order directly from Omar and enjoy that I can get decaf in just about every flavor they offer, including Chocolate Fudge and Snickerkicker. Rainforest Alliance is my favorite Omar unflavored variety. read more

I had this coffee at a restaurant and had to find out where to get it. We live about a half hour ride from Omar so we took a ride (shop is right on the outside of an industrial park) and grabbed 5 lbs of whole bean Columbian supremo to grind at home for about $35. Really that's hardly more than what the grocery stores are getting for the canned ground coffee and less than what they sell whole beans for. This coffee is very smooth and flavorful with a nice caffeine kick. I cancelled my subscription to some Brazilian beans I was getting from Amazon because Omar was better. I can't even drink Dunkin Donuts coffee anymore, which I used to love but doesn't taste as good to me anymore. I will be going back. read more
