I love coffee, drinking it hot or cold, and what I had here is in my all-time Top Five Percent. It was that good. I had a sip of my wife's Chai Latte and thought it was excellent as well. What really impressed me were the flavors of both drinks- not overpowering, but strong enough to appreciate them. The Coffee Guy has it all - specialty coffees, matcha, chai, espresso drinks, and pastries and sweet treats to pair with your coffee cup. It was extremely straight forward, but also extremely tasty. The coffee was strong and had great depth of flavors. Very good quality coffee. The mint and honey complimented and highlighted it, playing only supporting roles. So that was all great. Unfortunately, the parking and traffic challenges that come with the downtown location will keep me from returning as often as I would like to. But if I were in the area, I'd happily make the stop! I have heard equally wonderful things about their Glastonbury location, though, so I'm excited to give that one a try too. Since I normally like to try local coffee shops, I fired up Yelp and found Rebel Dog Coffee nearby. This shop is located right on Main St and can be seen from the road, but parking is around the back via Ensign St. The inside of this shop is large, with a giant coffee bar and a number of different tables throughout. The floors look like clear-coated concrete and the ceiling is painted black with exposed ductwork. After looking over the menu on this morning, I went with a large hot latte. It was only after I ordered that I saw their specials as well as local favorites on chalkboards along the wall. After only a couple of minutes, I had my coffee and was quickly on my way. As for the coffee itself, it was solid. You could definitely taste the deep and strong coffee flavor, and the milk played a nice supporting role where you knew it was there but it wasn't covering up the coffee. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. I thought that the coffee was good and the service was quick, and I would like to try some of those local favorites.
