Small place, but they do have some tables on another level, small area while waiting for your coffee. Got an orange blossom white mocha latte and it was delightful. Really interesting mix of flavors. I def plan on going back!

Stopped by this cute coffee shop in Hartford , CT. I ordered a coffee cake muffin , egg, chorizo and cheese on a hard roll and a cold brew iced coffee. I thought everything was pretty good except the fact that my sandwich was barely warm. Definitely sticking to the coffee here. Staff was friendly and service was fast. Also this establishment is dog friendly ( well behaved dogs only)

Spanish latte and black coffee were delicious. I don't think I've had a Spanish latte that creamy! My mom is also picky with black coffee and really loved theirs. I just wish they had some seating indoors, and that parking was easier outside, and that their loyalty program was digital versus an old-school punch card. Thank you for the outstanding drinks!

I've been going here for a while and recently went in for one of the best specials I've seen to date. I got Gma's chocolate chip pancakes drink and it is such a good cup of coffee!! Pretty much everything I love all rolled into one cup: mocha, maple syrup, milk, espresso, cinnamon and cocoa powder. I hope it can stay as a regular drink, but all the drinks I've had there have been really good so you can't go wrong with what you get. The place inside is a little small but they recently made renovations so they have more seating and a bathroom downstairs, and as pictured on good days you can sit outside too. The baristas are very nice, and make sure to pick up a punch card because every 10 cups gets you a free coffee!

I went fairly recently and meant to write a review. It has great reviews so made me want to try it. The menu was really yummy sounding with specialty lattes and all, I opted for the Dubai chocolate latte, and while it sounded great the flavor just didn't deliver. There was nothing to it. Like diluted chocolate milk. Maybe it would have been better warm. My boyfriend got an iced matcha latte and it was just okay. The main level is tiny and cramped, nowhere I'd want to hang and there is a rather large downstairs area but def gives boring basement vibes. Really expensive coffee to just not be that good.

Good food, quick service, and I can't say enough good things about the atmosphere and vibe of the place. I would highly recommend if you're in the area!

Conveniently located on Capitol Ave on the edge of Frog Hollow, this cute hospitable coffee shop offers fresh pastries and yummy coffees and teas. Friendly staff, indoor and outdoor seating. I ordered an iced Spanish latte which tasted smooth and creamy and cinnamony. They have a wall of succulents as well as some fun Lego sculptures to admire.

Story and Soil is a tiny coffee shop on Capitol Avenue in Hartford. It's tiny, but it has a lot of character. It's green exterior will catch your eye. The inside is tight, with one long table, and three bar stools by the window. They managed to decorate this space so tastefully without it feeling costropbobic. They have plants by the window, and some merchandise on sale. They also sell Giv coffee beans, that's what they use to make the coffee. I got a latte and sat with it by the window. This was delicious, you could taste the richness of the Giv beans. It was creamy, and delightful. I've been to this location of Story and Soil before, they have always made a solid coffee. I will continue returning here when I'm in the area.

I had to come here on my short visit to Hartford and I am so happy I did. The inside is VERY small, but cozy in a way. They have fresh pastries, hot sandwiches, burritos and of course coffee/tea. I had the s'mores latte and a mushroom sandwich. I really enjoyed this pleasant meal because I don't typically have breakfast so this portion was perfect for me. The sandwich was hot which was nice because it was so cold outside and it also tasted really good. The s'mores latte has a slight kick to it because of the cayenne drizzled into the drink. The marshmallow is slightly torched and makes it a perfect s'mores latte.

This is my go to coffee spot for work. My fav thing to order is a Spanish latte and occasionally I'll try the new seasonal drinks that they have. Love their savory scones that they make. I've tried cheddar jalapeño, Parmesan pesto, and veggie one. I have to say the Parmesan pesto one is my fav so far.

When Yelp CT Community Manager Alex PT asked me to help highlight businesses for Latinx Heritage Month, I didn't need to do any research. There are so many great businesses that are already part of my life, or on my bucket list. Two of them are on the 300 Block of Capitol Ave in Hartford. So I hopped in my car this morning. If you look at my review below, you'll see I became a big fan of Latinx-owned Story and Soil earlier this year. I love their black iced coffee. And if you think it's going to be a hassle to park downtown, think again. Every single time I've tried to park, there are numerous open parking spots on the block and there is a nearby pay by card kiosk. For example, today, I left my house in Newington at 11:57. At 12:12, I was walking on Capitol Avenue with iced coffee in hand. No joke! Check out Story and Soil for great coffee. They also have food, but I can't speak to that side of the business. Five Stars

Story and soil has quickly become my go to TGIF coffee spot. Quality coffee drinks, tea, breakfast pastries and sandwiches welcome all who enter through their doors. The space is narrow but if it's a nice day then I highly suggest taking a seat outside. They have recently also opened a Middletown location (congrats) but if you are in Hartford and want a quality "non chain" cup of coffee to perk up your day then Story and Soil is the place to be.

You can do takeout or dine-in, but even when dining in, you look at a menu, pay at the counter, and then it eventually comes to your table. I was lucky enough to come in when there was only one table and some takeout customers. As I left, several more people came in, so this place can become crowded. Aurora's is Guatemalan. They have a lot of brekkie stuff--huevos rancheros, omelettes with veggies, sausage, peppers, ham, sausage, etc. Breakfast sandwiches (BEC, beans, queso, ham, turkey, avocado, cheeses). Burritos (chorizo, loaded, veggies). Appetizers, like tacos, nachos, tostadas, and more. Sandwiches (burgers, steak sandwiches). Bowls and salads (house green, classic caesar, burrito bowl). Quesadillas and wraps (turkey avocado, buffalo chicken, churrascov, burrito, chicken bacon ranch). I had the Churrasco. It had a lot of fat, but it was more steak than fat, and the fat came off easily. The meat was tender and fall apart. I ordered the fries, but got rice, and that was okay. The black beans were great. The salad was a little palate cleanser. The thing I LOVED, ADORED, would help me ignore the fact the restaurant was so cold that I had to keep my coat on and shivered throughout my stay--the drinks. They have these great fruit drinks--grilled pineapple lemonade (my choice), homemade horchata, fresh melon juice, watermelon juice, etc. My choice, the grilled pineapple lemonade--I literally sucked that stuff down. It was fresh, refreshing, not too sweet, but just sweet enough. Let's go back to my elder millennial roots--"It's all that and a bag of chips." Would come here again, food, drinks, and service are great, but turn up the heat please!

The sandwich had that street food-style flavor I was craving, and the bread was soft but held everything together nicely. The sweet plantains were tasty and ripe, but a little on the greasy side for my liking. The watermelon juice was fresh, light, and refreshing -- not overly sweet, which I appreciated. Even though I didn't dine in, I've passed by the spot and it always smells amazing and has a warm, welcoming vibe. My order was neatly packed, and everything arrived intact, which shows care and attention to detail on their end. That kind of service goes a long way, even through delivery! Can't wait to stop by in person soon -- if the food tastes this good through DoorDash, I can only imagine how much better it is fresh off the grill.

The atmosphere was relaxing, clean, and family-friendly. One thing that immediately stood out was the menu. It's about 10 pages long, with an incredible variety of options. Whether you're in the mood for breakfast, lunch, American classics, or Mexican favorites, there's truly something for everyone. The presentation is beautiful. The drinks are garnished with fresh flowers and slices of lemon or cucumber, making them feel extra special. Even the food is served with colorful touches like a slice of orange and a strawberry on a skewer, showing they really pay attention to the details. My kids enjoyed an orange juice and an apple juice. I ordered the mango dragonfruit lemonade, and it was refreshing, flavorful, and the perfect drink for a warm day. For my meal, I had the avocado toast topped with an egg and crispy bacon. It was fresh, filling, and absolutely delicious. The boys loved their meals too. One had the chocolate chip pancakes, which were fluffy and loaded with chocolate chips, while the other had a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich served with crispy home fries. They also offer a great selection of specialty waffles and pancakes, giving us plenty of reasons to come back and try something new. The portions are generous, the prices are fair, and the service was outstanding. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout our visit. Between the delicious food, beautiful presentation, generous portions, reasonable prices, and excellent service, this is definitely a place we'll be returning to. I highly recommend checking it out!

Our order was a Chai Latte and a Cold Brew - each was $5. The pours were very large, and I swear that my cold brew was the very best I've ever had. I love coffee, drinking it hot or cold, and what I had here is in my all-time Top Five Percent. It was that good. I had a sip of my wife's Chai Latte and thought it was excellent as well. What really impressed me were the flavors of both drinks- not overpowering, but strong enough to appreciate them. The Coffee Guy has it all - specialty coffees, matcha, chai, espresso drinks, and pastries and sweet treats to pair with your coffee cup. We couldn't resist grabbing a few on our way out, and we took home a box with a Spinach croissant, iced blueberry scone, and a cruffin (croissant/muffin hybrid).
