I had a great experience with Omega turf and, although I rarely write personal reviews, I thought it was necessary given how great a job they did. I started looking for a company to install a putting green and artificial turf in our back yard and there were quite a few options. I got three separate quotes and Omega Turf was on the high side compared to some of the companies out there. They were, however, the only company that warrantied their workmanship for 15 years in addition to the turf itself. All the other companies I searched had limited 15 yr warranties on the turf but only 1-2 years on the installation. It's a fairly large investment and I wanted to make sure it would be fixed 10 years down the road if something starts to happen to it. In addition, they focus on 2-3 high quality material options rather than a vast array of choices that some of the other companies offer. Personally, I liked this because I felt that knew what works and what doesn't, rather than me having to choose from a bunch of options. Kind of like an In-n-Out restaurant menu! I work in the golf industry in Carlsbad so a major factor in choosing Omega Turf was the quality of the putting green. I wanted something that resembled an actual grass surface (with the speed, small undulations, breaks, etc) and that could hopefully improve my putting! They didn't disappoint! Mike J is their putting green expert and he came out twice to talk with me about exactly what I wanted. He had the expertise to understand how small subtleties would enhance the overall play-ability of the green and recommended the highest quality infill and preparation. In addition, he did an amazing job on the sand trap and the contouring of the grass around it to make it feel natural and look great. The crew was quick and efficient and did an amazing job getting the roots out of my old grass, while leaving our backyard clean and pristine when they left. These pictures don't do it justice - it's really a pleasure to play on it and my kids love it. They used to rarely play out in the back yard, but now they're out there rolling around on the turf and playing in the sand trap! We contracted with Omega Turf to design and install pavers and turf over 12 years ago. They put in a putting green in the backyard as well. We recently had some work done in the back yard which required that we pull back some of the turf. We asked Chris if his crew could reinstall the turf and also fill in some areas in the front where the dirt had sunk (mostly from a grinded stump). By the time they were done, both our front and back yard looked as good as when it was first installed 12 years ago. The quality of their work and their product has stood the test of time. When I look at other homes in our area who have added artificial turf since our installation (we were the first in the neighborhood), ours looks so much better. We created a bike/walk pathway around the turf along with a beautiful big medallion design one one side to create a conversational sitting area with fire pit. We extended the pavers out to the side of the house to meet up with a concrete sidewalk that leads to the pool area. Side note: they also built a pool equipment fence for me!! They do everything!! The pool/front entrance area deserves its own review! Can't describe how hard these guys worked to lay the most beautiful shimmery Quartzite stone! The amount of time it took them to precisely cut hundreds of pieces of stones in perfect pieces was incredibly impressive. It is a skilled Art. Very interesting, detailed process! They did such a clean, tightly grouted, leveled job- the best I've ever seen, and I've seen many! They transformed my entrance from a jungle (trees,plants,dirt,concrete) to a Stunning GRAND ENTRANCE that I am SO in love with and proud of! It makes the house look brand new and Glamorous!! We wrapped the same shimmery gorgeous quartzite around the pool and house. I am just THRILLED with how it turned out! OmegaTurf was great. Chris gave me a very fair quote, and was very honest. I just had other work completed in the backyard, and had some issues so been a little smarter with hiring contractors. However, Chris was a honest legit man. I verified OmegaTurf on http://www.cslb.ca.gov/contractors , and they had no complaints. I decided to go with them based on reviews from yelp, and they lived up to the hype. It took them the day to pull up old sod, lay artificial grass, and build a retaining wall. At first I wasn't happy with the size of our retaining wall and wanted it bigger. They fixed it immediately. Chris ordered more blocks without any change in my price. The crew was professional, and meet every need. I would recommend them to anyone looking for honest good working people at a competitive price. I plan on hiring them to work on my front yard next. ***Update Aug 7, 2016*** So, after my first initial review. I have to say I'm not as happy as I first was. Chris and the entire team at Omega Turf are great!! With rising water rates, we wanted to find a long term solution that would fit our budget and look great. We had our job completed in April of 2014 and couldn't be happier. Chris promptly responded to our initial call and was on time, every time for each visit to our home. We wanted turf for the kids to play on and a putting green the whole family could enjoy. Chris worked with our landscape architect to come up with a plan that perfectly fit our space. After trying and trying to keep a green lawn by only watering 1-2 times a week for a few minutes each time we realized we were never going to get our backyard back to its glory days. Because I live in a condo community initially it was somewhat a challenge figuring out all of the logistics in the beginning such as where to store the DG base on the condo property while they dig out my sod and how the turf was going to fit through the front door since that was my only accessible entry point. I had an issue with my Bocci Ball quart being slightly unneven....They immediately came out and fixed it with no charge even though Im sure My dog caused the problem. I had several quotes from their competitors and they were the most economical. The work was done quickly and the finished yard looked beautiful. I will say that 2 things to consider. First, the individual blades do come out and maybe this is the case with all artificial turf, but possibly the fact that manufacturing is not as great as things were in the past. Also, we purchased a turf that was meant for pets and one of my dogs rarely would use it because it does feed different than real grass and apparently he didn't like walking on it. So if you buy a turf specifically for dogs, they may not necessarily use it as intended. read more

Installed their new poly artificial turf. Mario's crew is exceptionally good. Perfect job! Looks great. Should be 4 1/2 stars due to scheduling issues. Scheduled to begin work 7-11 am. by office but they didn't know crew had another job to do first. So crew showed at 1:30. Morgan showed up right on time for estimate, brought samples, very helpful. $10 /sq. ft. including everything, including tax. Only actual footage installed is calculated, not waste pieces. Five weeks of being put off. In June, we met for a front yard Scripps Ranch turf install and I got his committment to do the job. Two weeks go by, no word so I email him. His excuse: his calendar program messed up. Promised in the email to put me on the install schedule. Two more weeks, no word. Call him and another excuse and verbal committment to to do the job (even tho I said it would be okay if he can't or doesn't want to do it - assured me he would do it). Two more weeks - no word - nothing. To everyone considering using this company: 1st, the "press of business" excuse doesn't fly - not when you can't or won't even communicate with the customer. 2nd: fundamental principals of business ethics were violated here - so if you think the conduct I sufferred through will not happen to you, you're placing considerale strain on the logical processes. read more

Local service advisor from the Whittier area called me the next day. Again, provided details but said he did not have his calendar to commit to an appointment. Instructs me that he will call again Sunday night so he knows his exact availability Monday and to schedule. Again no call. Omega Turf is great! I had my job completed in April 2014. Chris came out and gave me a bid on the turf. I mentioned that I wanted pavers and some rock with palms and he said he could do everything that I wanted! Chris gave myself and neighbor a bid, as we share a front yard. My neighbor is selling their house so wouldnt be having their yard updated. Chris was really nice and updated my changes and incorporated adding pavers to seperate the yards and even moving my neighbors sprinklers. The job took about 6 days, due to some rain on the weekend. I did have an issue with the front step, the look, but Chris said they would be out the next day to remove the step and fix it, which they did. They also fixed my sprinkler system which seemed to stop working. I would definitely recommend Omega Turf! See my before and after pictures, amazing!!!
