We settled on Jimenez Landscaping to replace our entire concrete pool deck because of the good reviews and their estimate was significantly lower than the other companies we had come out. It took about a month start to finish, due to the fact that there is only one concrete supplier in the Escondido area. However, they did all the demolition and prep work ahead of time, so everything went as scheduled. Their attention to detail was pretty impressive. All four of our patio beams were all rotted out and needed to be replaced. They meticulously took down our outdoor speakers and carefully re-installed them once the posts were replaced. The concrete turned out beautiful. Some plant leaves seem to have gotten into the mix and left some little holes/blemishes on the surface in a few places. However, I know concrete isn't an exact science and that sort of thing can happen. Regardless, its much nicer and was installed better than the old concrete. The old concrete didn't even have rebar. Unfortunately, a few pieces of rebar fell into our pool and made rust stains on the pebble-tech surface. However, Edgar immediately sent out a pool guy with some acid and he cleaned it up perfectly. I have to deduct one star for this: They forgot to re-install the hand-rail for our swimming pool. First they accidentally hauled it off with the junk after doing the final clean-up (which could have been better), but Edgar assured me they still had the hand-rail and it would be installed after the concrete cured. I brought it up again during the final walkthrough and was told that Edgar would personally install it the following week. Months have now gone by and I have sent multiple messages to Edgar. Multiple times I was told it would be installed the following week. I have now given up. I think they lost our hand-rail to be honest, so now we have to buy a new one and install it ourselves. PS: I wish they had cleaned the concrete residue off the bricks around the pool, because I cannot figure out how to clean it off. Would I recommend Jimenez Landscaping? Yes, but I recommend staying on top of them at the end of the project to make sure cleanup is done a little better and nothing gets lost/misplaced.

Don calls me the second the crew walks off the job, and says the job is complete, and asks for full payment, which I made the mistake of doing... Since that point, Don could care less and not of any help at all.

Estimates ranged from absolutely ridiculous to cheap but the quote delivered by someone you wouldn't want to wash your car. When Adrian Sr and Adrian Jr showed up, I was immediately impressed by their approach to the situation. Knowledgeable and experienced, they walked through our project and pointed out all the things that would need to be done, and all the other things that would make the finished product even better. After I had already had 8 other estimates, I had a good idea of what needed to be done but when Adrian Sr pointed out other little touches I knew he was the guy. So of course would ask if he could do this or that little touch and he said "no problem" and better than that, after I had the estimate, he still didn't add to the price for little things that would make the overall project look better. Ok, so the estimate...I was expecting a price in a particular range because I had so many previous estimates, but wow, was I surprised. Adrian's promised a superior product an amazing price. Fast forward a couple of years and we had a nightmare experience with solar installation and a company that left a 41' long trench in our yard for 3 months. Joe sent his guys back to remove the pavers where the trench would be and then had to sit on an open contract for all those months while we struggled with the solar company to try and get the trench finished. Joe was patient with us but incensed on our behalf for that terrible experience (which I loved) and as soon as the trench was done he got his guys right back out here to replace the pavers! Wife & I had a total home remodel overseen by Marrokal Design and Remodeling (separate review)…read more This was a TOTAL home remodel which had us move out for 9-months and move back into a new home with new yards. Marrokal recommended Landscape Logic & Tony Vitale for all exterior landscaping, fences, trellis, fountains, etc.. And boy are we happy with that recommendation! We scheduled Tony to visit our site and discuss our desires. Tony impressed us with his knowledge and desire to exceed customer desires! A week or so later Tony emailed us some preliminary designs and cost estimates. OK, I'll be honest here, Tony's cost estimates way exceeded our landscaping budget targets from Marrokal. Wife & I were in shock. We contacted Tony and he identified some cost drivers we could reconsider. One easy change was using decomposed granite (DG) for our backyard dining area instead of concrete. Immediate cost reduction of over $5K. After a few redesigns we approved cost estimates and gave approval for work to begin. And this is where we became total fans of Tony Vitale and Landscape Logic! Wife and I really had not comprehended the amount of work which was simply for site preparation. Much existing soil needed to be removed to allow for grading. This also entailed removal of large root systems and old irrigation. There was a team of workers onsite for many days working hard from early morning until just before sunset. A special shout out to team foreman Balthazar! This was backbreaking work using picks, jackhammers and shovels. Laying new drip irrigations system was equally a large task which required laying a new drain under a sidewalk and drilling a hole through street curb. Tony then met us at a local nursery and we walked the grounds to select new plants and trees. I was really impressed with Tony's knowledge of each plant/tree variety. Wife & I might point at something we really liked and Tony would warn us against the selection due to size after growth. Tony would then identify alternate plant selections which would stay within growth constrains for our yard. Tony also identified excellent sources for fence and trellis, of which he would oversee work. Wife & I are totally happy with our new yards both front and back.
