My friend and I did the Forsaken Temple as a group of 5 (2 adults, 3 teen/preteens). I have been to Omescape when there was the location in Emeryville, first time at this location. We were a few minutes late as we had to get gas (poor planning on my part)- we called ahead just case and the staff were extremely accommodating and understanding. The entrance is towards the back of the building, just make sure to keep an eye out for A-frame signs saying 'Omescape' as I couldn't tell and went in another parking lot initially (already got tripped up trying to get into the building...whoops). After signing in and putting our bags/phones away in the lockers (bathroom runs as well), we were guided to the escape room with one of the little ones terrified of what's going to happen. Our guide, Linda, was super friendly and very wonderfully tried to console one the girls (she insisted she wanted to come but was afraid, we all thought it was best for her to experience it her before deciding if she was truly afraid of not). The room was delightful and I honestly forgot how much I enjoyed these... with quite a few hints needed as I was missing things haha. Linda had the best ethereal voice and honestly made the experience so much more enjoyable, extra kudos to her. We made it though the room with 2 minutes to spare and no bladders bursting. The room was super immersive and the details were pretty impressive. This definitely was a great group activity that took some teamwork and a whole lot of thinking. Final Thoughts: 100/10 - will come again for the other games available here! Yes, it's not the cheapest activity - but it's worth for the fun and immersive puzzles. read more

We did the under cooked escape room as a group of 6. Given that we are all Overcooked game fanatics, we were all eager to participate. It was a bit different from your traditional escape room where you solve puzzles to get out. Here, you had to solve puzzles to get the recipes to make each dish. It was really fun and the employees were super helpful and nice! The employee that was overseeing our room checked in every now and then and offered help when she saw we were struggling with a particular puzzle. Would totally recommend! read more

We did the Robotopia, one of the newer rooms, which was a two hour room. The puzzles were fantastic, not too difficult and we only ended up asking for two hints. There was a live actor in the room, but it was not super scary, and made the room a little more interesting. Would definitely recommend again! read more

The hosts are so fun and I love interacting with them throughout the escape !! Hints are unlimited without penalty so don't be stubborn and ask for help when your team needs it. The dopamine rush you get from solving puzzles makes you feel like the smartest person in the world and gives you hope your parents were wrong about you. I especially recommend Haruka High and Robotopia. Undercooked is also a fun one but not a traditional escape room in the sense that you're not unlocking multiple rooms but solving puzzles in one room. We did the Chaos in the Galleria escape room today and it was so fun! The puzzles were interesting and also made sense (aka not unsolvable and felt reasonable within the time frame). They don't limit or penalize hints which is really nice. Madilyn did a great job as our escape room host and making sure we were set up when we needed to. Usually the most sketch looking places, are the dopest places to go. Came on a Friday Night with a group of 9 for a Birthday and we did the Chaos in the Galleria. I've been to a couple escapes rooms now and gotta say this was by far my favorite one. Before entering the room, they have lockers provided to keep any bulky items and your phones for safe keeping. They encourage you to leave your phone behind to avoid spoilers so it makes sense. (You can give up your phone for 90 min) The people in the front were very friendly and really tried to make every aspect of explaining rules and tips very intertwined with your experience. Apparently we also had the hardest room and thought we were screwed but we solved it! Can't go into much detail of the room but it was nice that they encourage to split up and solve multiple puzzles to speed up the time. Also pay attention to detail :) What was really nice about the dude too is he took the time to explain any puzzles that we had since we were his last group. Ever since I discovered Omescape, I've been obsessed! The standards are especially high at Omescape and I personally consider them to be the gold standard of escape rooms. I've played all the games and have managed to escape each one at this location. This location has consistently added new games and each one seems to top the last. My group and I really enjoyed Chaos in the Galleria, Undercooked (we did this twice to complete all the challenges), and Midnight in Hong Kong. I think my least favorite was The Apartment Next Door. It's done in complete darkness majority of the time and is a little scary (no jump scares). I'm easily frightened and my sister and I just latched onto each other and screamed the whole time. However, it was pretty easy in the sense that you're basically told what to do throughout the entire game. The newest one, Robotopia, is 2 hours but time goes by really quickly. The live actor is not scary at all and if anything, adds to the fun. My only gripe is that I don't have any more games to play since I've already done everything. Please add new games soon! read more
