We came here for Mother's Day and we came here another time for a birthday celebration and it was so sweet to receive a signed card from Analyn, Amber, Mark, Danelle, Monica, and Jam :)) When we get stuck, the assigned staff for our room never fails to be attentive and even read the situation and kindly speak up when needed. I felt the staff has always matched their level of help/involvement perfectly with our progress and our group. Logistically, the waiver process is super fast and there's plenty of parking in the mall parking lot right outside the space (at most just need to do very minimal walking through the lot). We can't wait to watch some behind the scenes videos for the room creation, really happy we have this Escape Game in such a great location and look forward to more Epic fun!!! Thanks so much to Milpitas Staff!!!

Just a minus star on the reservations - we were expecting to have the room to be just our family but we received a text before our time so indicating that another party was joining us. I guess my feel is that if it says 5 spots free - it meant that we had the room to ourselves but we were grouped with another family (mom and two young kids). No issues with the other family joining in the experience but you never know who you would be paired up!! We did the cosmic event. The room was clean and functional. It was hard to hear Hermes in the space ship but outside of it. We had a wonderful time and escaped!!

I've done hostage 80 percent of my trips here and this is the first time meeting the guy on the poster. He was definitely a great gm and funny too, and definitely catered to helping scare our group of friends that never been to an escape room before. Really hope to continue bringing more people here in the future and excited for the many other experiences that's soon to come. Best horror escape room in the Bay Area!

For context, I normally only review individual rooms on the Morty app and keep my reviews on here for the venue as a whole, not any one specific room. I'm making an exception for Studio420 because it was that bad. I've done other rooms at this location and actually enjoyed them, and there were more I still wanted to try, but after this one I'm not going back at all. Right at the start we told our game master that our main goal was just to see the whole room and get through it, and she said no problem, she'd help us along. That is not what happened. As far as we could tell the whole thing is a single room. It feels like someone had a spare room lying around and threw an escape game into it to make a quick buck. There's barely any theme. There's even a fully working shower in there that has nothing to do with anything. No cool tech, no real set design, just a pile of cheap padlocks scattered around. The puzzles are where it really falls apart. Half the work is just figuring out which lock a code is even supposed to open, because there are several identical locks and nothing points you to the right one. At one point two things look like they're obviously meant to go together (they had matching stickers) and they turned out to be completely unrelated. Another puzzle has more than one answer that satisfies all the clues, but only one of them actually works, which is not okay when the game only accepts a single solution. When we got stuck we told her flat out that we weren't having fun and asked her to just move us past a puzzle so we could keep going and see the rest of the room. She wouldn't do it. She'd toss little hints, but when we straight up asked her to fast forward us through the parts we weren't enjoying, she refused. At one point she was basically making fun of us for not getting something ("Oh wow fam you don't know your ABC's"), when the clue itself was ambiguous and could be read two different ways. The last straw was leaving. My wife was struggling just to get out of their office on the way out, and instead of helping she stood there grinning like it was all part of the show, after we'd already made it very clear we did not enjoy ourselves. Skip Studio420. Save your money and your afternoon.

None of it looked cheap or amateurish. It did seem to be initially understaffed with a poor young lady having to deal with clues for an ongoing group, checking us in, and resetting our room. So we got a late start, but got the full hour. A young man showed up shortly before we started, so I'm sure that helped. We did Conspiracy of Silicon Valley, which is one of the newer games. Once we entered the actual room, it was charming and took you back into the era it was trying to portray. Here, things looked like a step down from the lobby/intro area. More like it was put together a little more DIY, but it didn't really detract from the experience. We had 5 people and split into 2 groups, which made the puzzle solving more feasible. The clues and puzzles were overall good and doable. There was an issue with not properly resetting a critical prop in our room - again, probably due to being understaffed, but we had to get a clue in order to figure out something wasn't right. So took one star off for that. If not for that, it would have been 5 stars. Initially, it looked quite small, but it expanded a bit into some other smaller rooms. It was really quite well done overall, and I think they did a really nice job. And the other great thing is that it's very reasonably priced compared to other escape rooms. For 5 people, it worked out to be $35/person, which is more than reasonable for an hour of fun. Would come here again with friends. Can recommend the experience!

Sorry, I can't remember anyone else's names. Puzzles are both clear and challenging at times, the narrative is very interesting and provokes discussion both during and after, and the prospect of decisions affecting later Chapters is very interesting. One of the most engaging and interesting Escape Rooms I've ever done. Although you might find cheaper Escape Rooms out there, Off the Couch Games offers a more unique experience that I think definitely gives you plenty of entertainment for your dollar. I eagerly await Chapters 4 and on. Only room for improvement I can really say is signage. If you miss the banner and front door on your way into the parking lot, you may get confused, especially at night.

The staff does a really good job introducing you to the game, providing context, and giving an overview of the rules. Additionally, they mentioned that we'd receive a discount off our total based on how quickly we finished, which was extra encouragement for us to get through the game. You immediately get immersed into the game before even walking into the actual room and once you're in Occam's Apartment, it feels even more real. The room itself is well decorated, with nice details scattered around the apartment. I loved every minute of the escape room experience and felt challenged throughout the time we were there. We did ask for hints throughout our time there and the answers were often given through directional questions. What I liked most about the Off the Couch set up is that the escape rooms are all a continuation of a storyline, so it makes you feel invested in the experience. I'm looking forward to the next escape room!
