The Apartment Next Door was a unique and kinda creepy experience, forcing us to use our various senses without being able to see anything. Besides a brief moment of flashing strobe lights integrated into the experience, it remained pitch black the entire time, our eyes did not adjust. At one point, it took a few minutes to get help from our game master (you're allowed unlimited hints), and it was a little frustrating as I was getting dizzy going in circles and losing my sense of direction in the dark, probably cuz I'm prone to motion sickness, and didn't wanna wait for my partner to figure it out on his own. Luckily our game master eventually responded with a clue, and I was fine after that. We ended up successfully escaping in 52 minutes with just a couple hints. It was cool doing this dark room, but I much prefer escape rooms with the lights on, that way if the staff is unresponsive (like on our recent visit), I won't start to get a feeling of panic. I am certainly a fan of Omescape... did several of their rooms at their Richmond facility years ago, before that location closed down. They offer quality sets, props, and puzzles to truly immerse visitors in the themed experience. The Sunnyvale location was no different. We had fun :) read more

First time doing an escape room, and the standards for other escape rooms are now very high. The staff were very welcoming and willing to explain what to expect and what to do. This was a very fun escape room, we did the Undercooked room and had a great time! Undercooked was a different escape room format that we ended up really enjoying. Rylie was an amazing host and made sure we understood the rules and gameplay, and helped our group take some photos at the end as well. No spoilers but this have been one of the most innovative escape room I've been to in a good while. Let's just say it really challenge your senses. We walk into the escape room completely blind and was taken by surprise it was a good one to go with a small size group so everyone can contribute. After the escape room there's a game room so it was a good surprise to get to play some free board games. There's a lot of interesting room and some have longer than 1hr (typical escape room time) so it gives a lot of good opportunities to hangout with friends. Will be looking to come back and try out the rest of the rooms. read more

It was tricky finding an escape room near our office for our 13 person group, but our teammate found this place that had an intriguing team vs. team concept with Midnight in Hong Kong. I have done a lot of escape rooms before (up in the Seattle area), and I thought this one was pretty well executed. It's probably the longest room I've been in too. The environment and props were great, and the puzzles were interesting and challenging. I enjoyed the optional personal puzzle mechanic as well. It sounded like both teams got to have similar puzzles too, which was good for fairness, with some slight differences between. There were two rounds and my team won the first one, but sadly lost out on the final victory. We were close though, so it still felt evenly matched in the end! Kaylynn was our game host and rocked! They felt really immersed in the game and were helpful and were very dedicated to being fun characters throughout. Thanks for the fun time!! read more

We did Haruka High and it was INCREDIBLE! Our guide, Justin was awesome. He was kind, friendly and answered all of our questions. Loved his energy and enthusiasm. In fact, all the staff I interacted with was really nice and friendly. Shout out to the girl at the front desk, sorry I didn't catch your name, but you were great and so welcoming! I was looking for a fun Halloween activity and Haruka High caught my eye so we ended up here. I was not expecting it to be this well thought out and engaging. I've done other escape rooms before, but they were not like this. I was truly impressed by the set up, storyline, puzzles, and the overall experience. There were a slight delay in some response times to when we completed the puzzles but even with that, it did not take away how good it was. This experience was a fun kind of scary without being cheesy, and there were times where I was legitimately terrified, HAHA. The attention to detail was incredible and the production that went into this is TOP TIER. There were several moments where I thought to myself, "WHOA nice touch" or "WTF did not expect that." I was indeed impressed. I will say it's comparable to Universal Studios or Great America, LOL, but I would say it's better, HAHA This is now my standard for any other escape rooms that I do. I really hope all of the other rooms here are as amazing as Haruka High is to me, because I definitely want to come back for more but HH is one I would definitely do again! My friends and I have completed over 40 escape rooms, and we always avoid any rooms involving live actors or jump scares--one of our group has a serious phobia. We recently visited the Sunnyvale location and, as always, thoroughly reviewed the room description online. There was no mention of jump scares or live actors for the Haruku High School room. When we asked in person, the employee insisted the website was "very clear" about the jump scares. We assumed we must've missed it. After raising our concerns with the manager, Abby, she admitted the description did not state anything specific about live actors or jump scares. She said it was "implied" by the room's name and that "we can't include every word people search for." She also told us she had no authority to issue a refund. However, Abby was also the person who responded to our follow-up email--and suddenly did issue a refund. If she could authorize it by email, she could have resolved it in person. That inconsistency felt dismissive and unprofessional. As for the room itself, it was essentially a 90-minute Blair Witch Project meets haunted house. The experience involved live actors, loud noises, and extremely dark, disorienting environments. At one point, it was verbally described to us as a maze so intense that an employee would need to escort us out if we wanted to leave early. That is far beyond what was communicated online. To their credit, we were refunded our $50 deposit--but only after the fact and only once we followed up. The website was also updated less than an hour after our visit to finally include "jump scares and live actors," which proves it wasn't disclosed clearly in the first place. This whole experience felt misleading and inconsiderate. If you or someone in your group has sensitivities to horror themes or jump scares, I strongly recommend calling ahead and getting a clear description--because what's on the website can't be trusted. read more

I was introduced to Omescape a few weeks ago for a team work event on a Tuesday evening. Our large group split into two separate simultaneous games. My group was assigned the Chaos in The Galleria escape room. After we all signed our waivers via QR code on our phones, we gathered and our guide led us to the room down a long winding hallway and after giving us some clear brief instructions, we were on our own. There is a phone in the room where we can call in for one tip at a time. Overall, the Chaos in The Galleria was a fun game and I would recommend any group of friends or colleagues to try Omescape out if you all enjoy the challenges of an escape room. read more

I had a great time here for an offsite event with my company. We had around 24 people so they split us into 3 rooms, 2 rooms with 6 people and 1 room with 2 teams of 6 that were competing against each other. I participated in Undercooked, which was a lot of fun. It was unlike traditional escape rooms, where instead of sequential puzzles, we had a bunch of dishes we had to find various clues for in order to cook, and all of them could be done simultaneously. Good mix of easy and challenging clues, it was fun for both beginners and experienced escape roomers. The staff here were great and overall we had an excellent experience! read more

Love this place! I first came here for a work outing and it was amazing. The staff is super friendly and love that they get in character to bring the experience to life. I definitely have returned, even that very weekend both Saturday and Sunday with my family. They love the place too. We have plans to go again today to the San Jose location and try a different room.
