I had a really nice time at this brewery. My family and I ordered a flight, and the ciders and beers were definitely the highlight--really solid choices and fun to try. We also got a pretzel with cheese; it was decent, but the drinks were definitely the stronger part of the visit. The vibes were great, especially because the weather was nice. We sat out on the patio, which was super cute and made the experience even better. Lots of people had their dogs, and we just sat there and played cards. I had not visited Omni Victoria yet. I remember back when Enki was still there, and really like the changes that Omni has put in place. The tap list has been switched over, food menu revamped, and the space has just small touches of improvements as well. I went with my pup to the brewery to enjoy a flight while sitting on the lower patio. BA Imperial Snow Ryemoval: A Barrel Aged Rye Ale with some warming on the palate, but still very drinkable with nice barrel character. Hopfull: An American IPA hopped with Simcoe, Amarillo, and Cascade Hops along with Munich Malt that gives it a darker color and fuller mouthfeel more reminiscent of the classic late 90s IPA. Honey, I Shrunk the Oats: An Ale brewed with two types of Oats and Conditioned on Meadfoam Honey. A pleasant sweetness with creamy mouthfeel. Really enjoyable beer. Double Raspberry Double Vanilla Milkshake IPA: A Milkshake IPA with a Pound and a Half of Raspberries added per Gallon, and plenty of vanilla and lactose as well. High hop aroma, low hop bitterness, and a crushable IPA that reminds me of a Sour actually. ____ read more

We were headed to another spot nearby and when we were searching for breweries in the neighborhood, we couldn't pass up the logo and artwork of Enki! Shared parking lot with other businesses, but on a Saturday afternoon we had no issues finding a spot! We had our furry friend along, so we grabbed a seat under their covered patio and I headed in to grab a drink. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating! I didn't see much of the interior but it looked warm and inviting! Service from the bartender was great! Beer choices were creative and diverse! We decided on the Lemon Shandy and Mocha Porter! Both had great flavor and made for awesome drinks on a summer afternoon! We will definitely be back! read more

This was out last stop at a few breweries out in the west metro. There is a ton of both outdoor and indoor space. It seemed very family friendly with lots of kids running around. We had their hazy IPA and their Oktoberfest; the Oktoberfest is the winner for us there. They also do serve food; and while we didn't have any the pizza looked really really good! read more

What a huge space! I really loved swinging in for a pint. I was able to sample a few of their beers. YUM! All of them were delish. I settled with their special blueberry one. What a disappointment, I.can see why it is dead with no one here on a beautiful day. The beer is just ok but the service has gone way down. If you don't want to offer samples anymore then put a sign up saying so but don't huff and roll your eyes at me. And this isn't the first time, last time we also had issues with the staffs attitude. This place has great beer and great service. The tacos not so much. I would not recommend ordering them-they tasted good and are too little! We stopped in on a Friday night. I was happy to see staff wearing masks and also they required reservations. We sat at a table outside because we had the dog. There was a deck outside portion, patio, grass and parking lot. The inside was large and was where I ordered. We really liked the beer and got some crowlers to go that we drank on our bike ride home when we got "lost" aka the road trip as taken out so we had to turn around. read more

A couple weeks ago hubs and I decided to repeat our bike ride from 3 years ago on a nice end-of-summer Sunday. We were a bit confused when we rolled up and the brewery wasn't where we remembered it being! Turns out they had moved down the road to a much bigger place! I like the improvements since the last time we were here. Besides the bigger place their brews have definitely improved, both in styles available and quality. They also have seltzer waters now - hubs got the tropical flavor which was delightful. They also have food now, their own menu and not trucks (maybe they have trucks too but there wasn't one there when we were there). I got the grilled cheese and hub got the shrimp tacos. Both were pretty good. Prices for everything were pretty on par with what you'd find at any other brewery, in my opinion. Our bartender was great to chat with as well and switched football games on the TVs per our request once the Vikes were done getting beat, hah. Obviously I still recommend them but I'd say they've gone from good to great! read more

This brewery is massive and offers tons of seating. It is easy to find from the road and has a​ very large parking lot. We came during a Friday afternoon and it was not very crowded but there was a tent set up in the parking lot where a pizza shop was selling pizzas. There were A LOT of beers on tap here. We tried Victoria's Gold, Journey Pale Ale, Tailfeather IPA, Litmus Pilsner, Relevance v 4-session IPA, Warming Hut Brown Ale, Colonial Old Ale, and Barley wine. Our favorites were the Tailfeather IPA and Relevance. This would be a great place for a group gathering. read more

This place is outside my typical zone of entertainment, but I found the town to be very inviting. I had a Groupon to use here, and it was pretty easy to find. Right away staff greeted us and told us about their beer options. Initially, I will always try the flight. This had all of their year round beers (4). I would have to say that the 2 Porter beers were the best. Normally, the mocha porter is not something I would even try, but after a sample, I was hooked. It was not an overload of coffee or chocolate flavor. The brewer said there was only 1 gallon of coffee in the entire batch. As I looked around the place, the Porters also seemed to be the most popular (at least that night!). After having a few drinks here, one of the brewers came over to talk to our table. Jason was very humble, friendly and thanked us for traveling to visit. We asked him more about the brewery. He gave us some info on where the name ENKI came from. I don't remember all of it, but it was interesting. There are a few parts of the building you can sit and sip a cold one. There was a small room with games and barreled beer. I loved the giant Jenga game! There were chairs amongst the brewing area. Lastly, the main area with comfortable wooden picnic tables, stools and and a few spots at the bar. Apparently, in the summer they have an awesome patio, with more outdoor games. read more

3 buddies and I took the trip near Lake Minnetonka to the small town of Victoria and we entered the smallish brewery in town. Enki has wonderful service and we sat at one of the picnic tables inside and I ordered the Tail Feather IPA. Very solid. We had lots of laughs and I ordered for a Cacao porter for my second beer. Lots of chocolaty notes, Full body and dark colors. Great company and good fun, it was a wonderful couple of hours with friends. read more

Happened across Enki on the wait out to Lake Waconia and decided to make a stop here on the way back thru. Its located just off of Highway 5 in a part of Victoria that is pretty much all under construction. They occupy a large building that appears to have been a light industrial/warehouse in a prior life. Coming thru the main doors there is a nice setup of tables and chairs with a long bar along the far wall. An added bonus is the railing that extends the length of the building giving a clear view of the brewing equipment downstairs. There is also a deck and some tables and chairs underneath that. There is more than enough parking to accommodate. There were at least ten beers on tap ready to go and I went with the Tailfeather IPA (citrusy, hoppy, fantastic). We had toured some wineries earlier in the day so I had to take it easy since I was driving. They seemed to have at least one example of most of the major styles of beer on tap. No food license so, of course, they had the obligatory food truck on site which we made use of. I'd go back here in a minute and highly recommend it. For being a bit outside of the city, Enki has some pretty tasty beers and a good size tap room. I love that they have have a good amount of parking and a decently big patio area for those nice days. It's really a nice place to grab a drink and a little snack too. Their beer flavors aren't super edgy or anything, but they are definitely well made. The cacao porter is one of my favorite beer offerings from them. The cacao flavor isn't overly strong and pairs well with the roastiness in the beer, plus it's not overly sweet. It's a good balance and pretty smooth. On my last visit I tried the reunion red ale which was also pretty delightful. I love the maltiness and it was not too hoppy or bitter. The Warming Hut is also pretty solid. At 8% it is not overly sweet and definitely packs a tasty punch. I haven't tried any of their IPAs because it's not my style, but I have enjoyed the different beers I've tried there. The lines at the bar tend to move quickly (they have one on each side to keep things moving faster). We've ordered snacks there and they come out fairly quickly. I had the classic grilled cheese last time I was there. It was definitely worth the $10. The (local) bread was delicious and it was stuffed full of ooey gooey and delicious cheese. I also loved the tomato with it. It was a crazy good grilled cheese. If you live in the area, it's definitely a place yo check out. read more

Also, the bartender that took our order was extremely rude when he explained how ordering works - sorry, dude, we didn't know that we had to have a table in order to have food brought out. Man when this was the original building in downtown Victoria it was amazing, friendly and family feel. Then they moved to a big building which is great, developed outdoor spaces that were still fun. The last year and a half things really started to go downhill. More recently they decided instead of allowing patrons to tip their own amounts (which everyone I know would tip well bc even though the ownership seems to have plummeted the bartenders are still absolutely amazing!!!!) there is an additional 16% charge on your tab. On top of that, the price of their food exponentially increased. When a sub par brewery flatbread is $17 + 16% its a lot less enticing. Sometimes the beer can be good, food okay, atmosphere decent and the leadership still ruin it all. We were avid visitors and raved about it to everyone and honestly not sure we'll go back again at this point. read more

We had good success with the beer , beer dip and pretzel all great. We then tried the flat bread pizza, and the two we tried were below average in taste. We really want local businesses to succeed but Based on the overall experience it will probably be awhile before we go back. read more

This is probably my second favorite brewery (after Dangerous Man). The beers are great, the taproom is HUUUUGE since they recently remodeled, and the service is always great. Plus, they have a great patio for the spring and summer months. A food truck is usually onsite, too. My favorite beers are the Pilsner and Porter. I'm not a hoppy craft beer type of gal, so I find their beers smooth and delicious going down! If you happen to be in the Victoria area, check this brewery out. You'll have a good time. I knew very little about Enki Brewing before my spontaneous visit there. I knew it was in Victoria (where the heck is that?) and I had seen some of their offerings at liquor stores around the Twin Cities, as well as a few restaurants having them on tap. For whatever reason I never tried them before visiting the brewery. The taproom is a lot bigger than it seemed from the outside. There's plenty of seating, even on a busier Saturday we found open tables pretty easily. They have maximized their space while still keeping it comfortable for patrons, not overcrowding it with the seating to the point where you have a stanger right next to you or behind you. The decor inside is pretty simple, nothing too special. They do have a patio that looks worth checking out in the summer months. We did not try any of it but they have a small food menu which is nice to see at a brewery these days. As usual when the option is given and it's my first time visiting a brewery, I went with a flight to try a few different brews. Tailfeather IPA, Reunion Red Ale, Cherry Bock, and Mocha Porter were my four picks. The former two are their year-round takes of an IPA and Red Ale, as the names tell you, both were a-okay. They were not memorable, they had no unique features to them, but it's not a bad IPA or Red Ale. If you like either style, you will enjoy the ones Enki has to offer. The Cherry Bock was likely the weakest beer in my flight. The cherry was just a tiny hint of it as aftertaste on your tongue and nothing more. It wasn't a beer I disliked, it just didn't meet my expectations of that beer style. Their winter seasonal Mocha Porter was the highlight from the bunch. Made with cold press coffee, chocolate, and lactose, it's an awesome porter. You get the kick of coffee right off the bat, and the sweetness of chocolate to settle it down in your palate. The porter is a very well balanced companionship of the two. Easily one of the better "winter" beers I've had this year. I would go back to the taproom if I happened to be in the surrounding areas for whatever reason. It's not a brewery that blew me away to the point where I would go out of my way to visit again in the near future. I would come back to try other stuff they have on tap because the beers were not dislikeable. I am sure, at least when it comes to the other year-round styles, they are a-okay too. If it's winter and the Mocha Porter is available, I would absolutely get a full pint of it. read more

ENKI Brewing... Me and the Gal were going to grab a bite to eat at Floyd's in Victoria, and then head over to ENKI to try out their brews. The City was experiencing a power outage, so we could get drinks but no food at Floyd's. We walked over to ENKI and I was impress by the building they did a nice job of keeping the character of the building intact. I love the rolling Barn door. What are the odds have My Gal and some of the Harem had been there all ready? Answer is... Of course they have. My gal had been introduced at her last visit to John (one of the owners). She made a quick introduction and we had a personal tour of the brewery by him. Even though the power was out the beer was still flowing. I must say I love the three beers they have. Now I'm not a big fan of hoppy beer but the Citric Journey has a ton of subtle flavors and the hops don't overpower other flavors. After the Citric Journey the beer only got better. We sat down with John (the owner) at one of the patio tables to enjoy each other's company and of course the beer. Next we found a seat at the Tap room Bar and tried the Auburn Kolsch and the Vitoria Gold. I am a fan of both! The Beer Tender was personable and knowledgeable. I am going to get on my Soap Box for a bit. If you want to support small businesses go to your nearest Tap house. They are your neighbors and they brew what beer should taste like. I hope to someday see a locally owned brew house in every town from coast to coast. We are living in a Renaissance of Beer. For those of you still drinking Light Beer in a can, let me give you a suggestion. Guys cut your mullet, ladies stop feathering your Farrah hair and Drink Real Beer. Stepping off the Soap Box. Island Boy and I snagged a Groupon/LivingSocial deal and visited Enki for the first time on a Sunday afternoon last month. The deal provided us with 2 flights of their 4 flagship beers, 2 pints of any brew on tap, and 2 Enki pint glasses to take home. The 4 flagship beers we sampled as part of the flight were Victoria's Gold, Journey, Auburn Kolsch, and Tailfeather IPA. Golden ales (or lighter beers in general) aren't typically my favorites, but Victoria's Gold was actually decent for a beer of that style--it was easy drinking, mild in flavor, and didn't have any skunky taste that can be a turnoff with other goldens (especially wheats). I'd give it 3 out of 5. Journey is an American Pale Ale style beer, but is apparently a London dry ale--it has a mild bitterness and slight floral and citrus flavors. It was also decent...drinkable as I say. I give it 3.5 out of 5. The Auburn Kolsch had an unusual caramel/reddish tone, and lacked much of a head. It was a little earthy, and a bit harsh at first sip, but it smoothed out with a slightly sweet finish. This was probably my least favorite of the flight, but would still give it 3 out of 5. The last brew of the flight was the Tail Feather IPA--the highest in ABV at 8%. It's an American style IPA (which often means a little more hoppiness than a British IPA) with a mix of grapefruit and floral flavors, just the right amount of bitterness. It was also a little harsh at first, but it went down easy after the first sip. I give it 3.5 out of 5. For our 2 pints, we decided to try the Cacao Porter and the Mocha Porter. Island Boy isn't a huge coffee fan, so I got the mocha and couldn't have been happier. Let me first say that both porters are good, but the mocha just has much more depth of flavor. It's smooth, creamy, sweet and refreshing. Did I just call a porter refreshing? Sure did! It actually didn't have a distinctive coffee flavor, so I think my other half was kicking himself a bit, but since I'm a generous girlfriend, I decided to share :) It was really delicious--one of the best porters I've had, and easily the best beer we tried that day--so I would definitely get it again. Verdict: 4.5 out of 5. So that's all she wrote for the beer...as for the taproom itself, it's nothing fancy, but it's spacious for a small town brewhouse and has a couple TVs if you want to watch the game. We sat at the bar, so we got served easily and were able to chat with the bartender about the history of the brewery and details on the beers. They offer a few small bites of food, although nothing substantial. They're really easy to find, but kind of tucked away all the way out in Victoria. I must say though, if they have the mocha porter on tap, it's worth the drive! read more

I figure it's time to give my local brewery the kudos they deserve in writing after giving them props in person. Besides, as any Song of Ice and Fire fan knows, "Words are wind". First, the brewery is in quaint "downtown" Victoria and easy to find. Once inside, you are greeted by a cozy taproom with some high tops, a small bar, and some picnic tables with a television on the wall to catch the game. There are also low tops spread around the brewery which makes one feel as they aren't always on top of their neighbor - you can try to do that after your 4th Tailfeather. The beers that suit my taste are all delicious. I'm not a Kolsch fan in general, so it was no surprise that I didn't particularly care for the Auburn Kolsch, but it's just good enough to finish a glass (that's a big deal to me). Getting that out of the way, the Tailfeather IPA and the Journey Pale Ale are my go-to brews when I'm there. During the winter, you can't go wrong with the Mocha or the Cacao Porters. Neither is overpowering in the added flavors, but hit the mark like William Tell. The Warming Hut Brown Ale was a nice surprise. Some brown ales can be a little malty, but this is one damn fine pint of suds. Service here is really what one would hope for in a small town: inviting, friendly, and helpful. The brewers are always willing and excited to talk about the recent batch, brewery news (expansion coming?!), process, or just shoot the sheet with other beer fans. While I may not be named Norm, when I come in I find it quite nice that they remember a local. Weekend nights during the winter can be a little cramped, but come summer, the beer garden is a perfect for those Victoria nights and the breeze coming off Steiger Lake. I like trying to catch a Gopher football game on Saturday afternoons when it's less crowded, but there is a draw to the weekend clientele as you may just make some new beer fanatic chums. read more

We stopped in last night to check this place out... Small-ish but nice! Every table but one was full, on a Friday about 6! So we sat at the bar...found both the BeerTenders very kind, informative and friendly!! Chatted with them the whole time we were there about IBU's, ABV's, and hops! Even got one of their owners in on the discussion for quite awhile! Answered my question as to where they came up with "Enki" good background! They must have liked us too...as they let us sample some of their test batch Stout... And I must say....Fantastic!! Really liked the Porter in my flight!! The Kolsch and Gold were great beers as well. If you're not a hoppy fan I would stray from the Citric Journey but if you are...this is likely right up your alley! I enjoyed the company, atmosphere and beers here! It's quite a haul for me to drive....but look forward to making the trip again! read more
