This restaurant always has good food and a nice atmosphere. All of the service staff I've had have been wonderful and the food is delicious. The only reason I am giving this place four stars instead of five is because of my last visit. I ordered the linguine with meat sauce and my portion was ridiculously small. I would have called it a small children's serving instead of something made for an adult. Add into that the fact that they charged $20 for this tiny serving and I was very disappointed. read more

Wow! No reservations so we arrived early and had a drink. We were shown to our table and met Bella our server. My wife and I split a meal as did our friends. We're used to just getting a second plate. Nope the kitchen split our meal for us. It was still a lot to eat. We have never had bad food here or service at our table. I asked for something not even on the menu and they rocked it! They had a seafood linguine special a while ago. I used to get it on rice. They don't have that at the moment, but what they made me was really close and very, very good. I ended up with crab and shrimp with asparagus and carrots slices on rice with vodka cream sauce. So, so good!! My only frustration (we have come and sat at the bar no less than 4 times) is the male bartender is not friendly. He gets our drinks, but never smiles or greets us. He acts like maybe he doesn't want to be there. I would think a bartender of all people would be the friendliest in the establishment. Even with the bar service (the girls at the bar are awesome) I rated this place 5 stars because the food is just that good and the fact that they went above and beyond to make a meal for me made me really happy. read more

So had a fabulous experience here. Arrived at 5:15 and had 45 min wait in a Saturday night. We sat in the waiting area at a table and was able to order drinks and apps! Great way to start. We started with antipasto plate. I had king crab for my entree and my friend had the ribeye. Both came to the table promptly. Ribeye cooked to medium as requested and the crab cam cooked perfect and cut down the side. Very little effort to break the crab open! Service was fantastic by our waitress Elli. Waited about a. Hour to get seated which was not bad considering there's a waiting area for drinks. Got seated. They served cold bread at the table which is not a good sign particularly because it sets the stage for everything else. Server at our table lack fine dining skills. Very nonchalant and non engaging. Even after we got our meals, didn't check up on us to see if we were doing fine or like the meals. Got the pesto pasta which was semi-warm when brought to me. I prefer hot food as cold pasta takes terrible. The pesto was lacking in flavor. My husband chose the clams. We figured they'd come with its shell since it said whole baby clams on the menu and that is a traditional way to serve it. Again, l lacked true flavors like the white wine with garlic. Daughter had a Marsala dish where it had some green pasta underneath. Never had Marsala this way. Overall, not worth $20+ for a small plate of pasta. Limited wine selection for a fine-dining establishment. I recently moved back to area and remember 20 years ago how On Broadway was a special dining experience. I don't know what happened but tonight but unfortunately did not have that same experience and more than likely will not return. read more

The house-made salad dressings are good too. Downhill for entrees, though. They make their own pasta, which you'd think would be great, but it was chewy/rubbery. SO's linguine alla Broadway was just bland. My Puttanesca was terrible. I sent it back. It tastes like canned olives and canned artichokes tossed last-minute into noodles. over an hour wait for dinner, which seems to be the norm now. My two friends and I were so looking forward to our meals but all were extremely disappointing. I have had the Gorgonzola angel hair pasta before with added shrimp. it was delicious with a ton of flavor and large shrimp. What I was served last night did not even close to what I had before. What I got was a much smaller serving of overcooked pasta with lots of mushrooms in an oily, flavorless sauce (no discernible garlic even) and it appeared some Gorgonzola chunks were thrown on top to melt a little. The shrimp were small; maybe medium size and flavorless also. Both of my friends had the halibut piccata which was a small breaded filet of fish that was dry, served with plain, flavorless rice and a small amount of slimy peppers and spinach. There weren't even any capers in the piccata sauce that was served with a very heavy hand, At least the company was good! come on On Broadway! why would your dishes so completely different from what we've had there before? to wait for over an hour for such a disappointing meal is highly inappropriate for amy restaurant. read more

Glad we chose this for our one night in Helena. I had the sweet crab pasta and my husband had the chicken marsala. Both were excellent. The artichoke appetizer was also very good, as was the bread (ask for it warm, said the dude sitting next to us at the bar, and boy was he right). With butter the warm bread was excellent.
