Not recommended if accommodations are needed. This used to be my favorite Thai place as they were able to accommodate my vegan diet. I had ordered the Phad Thai, and noted for it to be "vegan (no egg or fish sauce)" but unfortunately that was not met. To make matters worse, I was charged extra for it, and I have an egg allergy, so none of it could be consumed. As appetizer I had and delicious and crunchy crab rangoon - a wonton stuffed with crab and cream cheese. The main dishes was Yellow curry with chicken and Phad Se Ew. The yellow curry usually is very spicy but this one was just perfect: not too spicy, not boring mild. The Phad Se Ew also did not disappoint. So, when I'm trying a new Thai place, there's only one way to compare it: order the same darn thing the first time. My fav Thai dish is Pad Kee Mao, aka drunken noodles. This is not hard to make (its so easy to do at home!) but sometimes... it's really dry or dripping with sauce or laced with too much MSG, meaning I'll have a migraine for 3 days. On Rice is none of the above. The portion is HUGE and the seasoning and amount of sauce is JUST right. They also really give you the right amount of spiciness that you ask for - yes!! 2 stars for most of the food. We ordered several things. We ordered Calamari for the table, and it was pretty good. My companion, who loves Thai, ordered Red Curry and Chicken Pad Thai. He said both were fine. I don't like Thai, so I ordered Pork Fried Rice (level 2 spicy), Chicken Gyoza, and Spring Rolls. The Chicken Gyoza wasn't bad, but the dipping sauce tasted nothing like it was described on the menu. The Spring Rolls tasted exactly like what you would order from the asian deli at Haggen. Bleh. The rice was just... weird... I don't know how to explain it. It was simultaneously bland, but it was also too rich. I couldn't put my finger on the dominant flavor, but maybe garlic? It was too salty, and kind of oily. It really just seemed like something I would buy from the frozen food section at the grocery store. The waitress was friendly and competent. The food was pretty expensive. After tax and tip it was over $80 for 2 people. The shining star was the Chocolate Mousse Cake. O. M. G. Orgasmic. For realz. It was SO good. I'd like to bathe in it. This used to be a great place for me. Not so much anymore. I went last night with my coworker and ordered spring rolls and lemongrass chicken. The spring rolls were pretty tasty. I ordered the lemongrass chicken a 3/5 star spicy. When I tasted it, there was maybe a 1/10 spiciness to it. So Sad. Then, I noticed that there was no lemongrass nor lemongrass flavor whatsoever. Very disappointing. The chicken was way over salted too. The carrots were cut into some sort of designer cuts. I don't care how they look but they weren't fresh. I doubt I'll be coming here again. Despite the place being relatively slow when we arrived, we had to wait a little bit for our waitress to come over so we could order drinks. The cups and plates were a little wet with water. I came here for lunch on a Wed. at 11:30 and it was empty. This particular store is actually one of several in the area that goes by the same name. There is ample parking in the back of this restaurant. The host was extremely polite and friendly, which really made my day. The lunch items here are between $8-$11 for the most part. I ordered a red curry and it even came with a side of cabbage soup, which unfortunately was a bit on the salty side. Then came the main course and I was in for a bit of surprise. Of the 20+ Thai places I've been to, this was the first time I had red curry that was thickened and combined with coconut milk. It really tasted just like yellow curry with a bit of pepper. There were no eggplants and snow peas either. The only vegetables in there were green peppers. I was hoping for something lighter since I was going to be playing some basketball afterwards, but I managed to chuck it all up after running a few laps up and down so it was all good. read more

Totally took a chance and went to this place. The decore was good and the place was clean. We arrive at 8:30P (they close at 9PM) so things seemed a bit rushed. We ordered our food and were pleasantly surprised at how tasty the food was. They were also presented nicely. Overheard customers talking about how they've enjoyed their food. Why only 3 stars? Our server, a nice young lady (strawberry blonde) was nice and had great sense of humor. However, the owner, sat there and just read the paper while the young lady took care of 5 tables, vacummed the place, bused the tables, and close out the checks with a smile. To me service is not only how the employees serve the customers, but also how the employees are treated by the employers. We felt bad that the lone server had to go everything so we even stacked up our plates to make things easier for her. Heard this place was good, and I love a hot curry so I tried it out. Nice establishment and ambiance. Usually a Thai place run but white people isn't a good sign, but I don't think B'ham has much ethnic diversity so, whatcha gonna do?.... The curry was delicious, but If you like your food spicy like me (i put hot sauce or black pepper on EVERYTHING) than get 5 stars and ask for a seperate thing of spice to make it hotter if you need it. They have really good food but they treat their employees horribly! I was eating my pad thai when I heard some yelling in the back. I think the owner was mad at one of the chefs or something, but they were not happy! The employees get treated so poorly too! The owner was in a bad mood and lashed out on one of the server that I had for getting my order wrong. It was no big deal, I was in no hurry, but the server came back shaken and apologizing making sure the owner saw and heard her. It was embarrassing and pretty ridiculous. I've been here several times. Lately it has ranged from meh on both service and food to a little less. I think this location has gone down since they expanded to their other locations. Actually, I think they're spread a bit thin, the other locations have not impressed me that much. I now mostly go to Asian 1 (formerly known as Pad Thai) for Thai (they also serve Sushi). I go here a lot, and recently had a bizarrely bad experience so I'll end up going to the other locations instead. We were seated and this waiter (pretty sure he's new) comes up and proceeds to ask how we were but then began telling us how his evening has sucked so far. The rambling lasted a few minutes before we were able to give our drink order. We ordered calamari as an appetizer and it came out practically burnt - hard to chew and super crispy, not the good calamari we were used to, but we ate it anyway. I got up to use the restroom and stated this to my boyfriend in front of the waiter (after he told us our food was almost ready). Made eye contact with the girl up front while I walked into the restroom. I come back out and my boyfriend got up a little bit after me to wash his hands, but left our bags at the table. I was astonished to see that they had completely cleared our table (with salads, calamari, and sodas) and the girl was putting our bags behind the front counter! I asked what they were doing and they were like "oh, sorry, we thought you had left". Seriously? Why would we leave before getting our entrees? It was really really weird and made me angry - they knew I was using the restroom, who the heck clears a table and removes people's stuff from their chairs? We got a half apology from one of the guys from the back (manager maybe?) but didn't get our salads or calamari back. Looking back, I should have asked for it to be comped but I didn't - I was totally taken off guard by the terrible service. I've never left a bad tip, but we ended up tipping 10%. Mediocre Thai food. I like how they have lunch specials with a variety of options, more than just curry, Pad Thai and rice, they have a nice selection of stir fries. The hostesses and waitresses were very friendly and welcoming, the interior is alright, a little dated and the fish tank doesn't look to clean to be honest. The food was just OK. The hot basil stir fry with chicken was fresh and flavorful, that I really enjoyed. The sauce was a little salty and sweet, loaded with fresh veggies with a bit of spice. ON RICE FOR THE BEST THAI! It's located very close to the entrance of Western Washington University, where I attended for first two years of my college life. I never had Thai food in my life and I was even scared to try out phad thai. The place is very exotic and there is a huge fish tank right in front of the door, different tea powders displayed in clear bottles, and the whole atmosphere is woody, cozy and warm by wood materials of the interior. It could be very nice restaurant to go out and have dinner on a weekend in the city like Bellingham since I remember the city is very quiet and pretty rural. It's where a lot of many people include WWU students visit and it's been voted for the best Thai restaurant for two years in the city or something. Why do you have to go there and eat when there should be different Thai places around there? Because it makes you fall in love with Thai food even a person who hated Phad Thai, like me. You wouldn't know until you try it out and get addicted to it. They're just wonderfully tasty. Unlikely the place where overcharges you, the price range is making sense and they serve white/brown rice and salad with warm peanut butter sauce for free. Well, it's been two years so I'm not sure if they still don't charge for it. I love me some chicken Pad Thai and this place HOOKS IT UP. The peanut sauce is really good..among the best I've ever had. The decor is also interesting and includes golden flame shaped things, high relief sculptures, a fish tank, colorful murals, colorfully tiled table surfaces and golden dancing man sculptures lining the upper part of the dining room wall. I came here for lunch with family and the staff was friendly and attentive. The lunch portion of Pad Thai was as large as dinner portions I've had other places. Placed an online order for takeout of 3 dishes. Arrived to pick up a little early but still near the time specified by the website (15-20 minutes later) and paid for the order. I was then kept waiting for 40 minutes (based on the time stamp of the transaction on my credit card app) with periodic check ins where they would ask for the name on the order and go back to check on it and I'd hear nothing until the next "what was the name on your order?" The total wait time for a simple takeout order was about 1 hour, even though the website indicated 20 minutes. That alone was frustrating, but wouldn't warrant too low of a rating. We got the food back ate... until a metal shaving was found in the phad Thai. I guess whatever cooking equipment they're using is falling apart into the food. read more

Excellent Thai food restaurant in Bellingham. Definitely go here above the Fairhaven or Barkley On Rice. They are actually a few cents cheaper here, and most consistently incredible flavor. Their highlight dishes are Panang Curry, Tom Kha Soup (Both of which make us gluten/dairy free folks extremely pleased.) and the Crab Rangoon or Duck Curry. The soups will have you addicted, and the ease of take out is marvelous if you don't have time to munch on the complimentary Thai peanut dressed salads and lounge in their ample seating.
