I was a guest for a surprise birthday party, in which we had rented the Broad Ripple party bus for…read morethe day. We had the bus from 1-8pm, and the plan was to meet Downtown and surprise the birthday girl. Upon arrival, the bus had broken day. We were unable to use the main door to enter the bus, but somehow we slid they the front seat to decorate and hope the bus would start. Our driver, Crystal, was incredibly nice and insured us it would start. The group waited outside for about an hour, until who I believe the owner of the van showed up. He was able to jump the van, with the stipulation crystal can't turn the van off any time. We completely missed the surprise, due to the van being broken down. Once it was "fixed" we were able to go on with our plans. The bus was old, nothing fancy, but it was clean. Crystal was a great driver, we just unfortunately had a bad van. Since I wasn't the renter, I'm not sure if any discount was applied. We had a great day given the circumstances.

In this day of fast flights and cramped travel, it was interesting to step back to a time where travel was slower and more spacious. People travelled up stairs in comfortable seats, their luggage was downstairs. Each seat had an ashtray ... if you even know what that is. The car showed its age. They even commented that the cars don't run in the summer for fear the A/C will go out. As for the staff, they try hard to deliver but more could be done with the story line. The online ticket purchasing can be a little confusing but we always seem to figure it out eventually. Nickel Plate offers a variety of family-friendly and adults only (cocktail themed, etc.) train rides. It makes for a really nostalgic and cozy experience - the train heads north to the Morse Reservoir area with deer sightings along the way. Tip - go to the bathroom at the train station before you head out. The bathroom on the train is quite old and small (aka tough with kiddos). Parking at the train station is a breeze and the park features a train themed playscape to pass the time until your ride is ready to board. Overall, a fun experience.

While the ride to Atlanta for the New Earth Festival, the Fall train ride to Attic, and even the new Read and Ride are more budget friendly costing you under $20 with taxes and fees + The train in now credit card only, so if you want to purchase snacks from the snack car, keep that in mind.

We booked the Brewsline to take us to the Thomas Rhett concert at Ruoff Music Center! They came to…read moreCarmel to pick us up, was right on time, and was SO much fun! Bluetooth audio set up & they let you play whatever you want! (Speakers are bumping!) They had coolers filled with ice ready to us to keep everything cold. Since this wasn't their normal brewery tour, we were able to bring any alcohol and food and keep it on bus! You also can tailgate outside of the bus before going into concert. They park behind the venue, and stay there the entire concert, and bring you home! The ride home has lights in the bus and is so fun! 14 people Max - I HIGHLY recommend this! We had so much fun. Our drives name was Darryl and he was great. Couldn't thank him enough!
