I needed a mobility scooter and did days of research on the net. I found the scooter I thought would be the best for me. I found it at On The Mend Medical Supplies in Hyntington Beach, just a few blocks away. When I entered the store I was greeted by Steve and Becky. Steve spent quite a bit of time listening to my concerns of finding a mobile scooter suitable for me. He explaind the different features of different scooters and we settled on the one I had in mind. I rode it around inside the store and also outside and into the parking lot, all the time Steve ran interferance for me. It was delivered a few days later by Rob and James who made sure the threshold ramp fit in front of my patio door, and that it fit the width of my door easily. I would highly recommend On the Mend, if you need that extra sturdy rail to hold onto in your bathroom or poolside. Didn't want to trust a suction cup grab bar, so I called On the Mend. They make sure your grab bar is installed firmly. They came to our home and recommended which grab bars and where they should be installed. We have one by our soaker bathtub and another one near our inground pool and hot tub. They look great and speak safety. Reasonable prices, great customer service and install. I needed a knee scooter for my Mom as she had broken her ankle. I emailed On the Mend and they immediately emailed me back. They let me know what scooters they had, as well as sharing with me that they had plenty on sight, so to just come in at my convenience. Okay people, look no further for your home medical needs! This family owned & run store is absolutely amazing for meeting all your needs! And they'll do it with knowledge, empathy and honesty. We first happened upon On the Mend's while outfitting our 93 yr old mother's apartment following a long stay in rehab. On The Mend had everything we needed to assure her safety and mobility needs. Very recently, we rented a reclining lift chair for my use following total knee replacement surgery. I was able to set up the entire rental & delivery by phone. They said they would arrive close to 10:00am on a certain date. My phone rang at exactly 10:00am on that date with On the Mend's delivery! Our stairway was too narrow to accommodate the whole chair so the 2 darling, helpful delivery guys took the chair apart and got it upstairs and ready for use! They did all this with big smiles and kept assuring me it was "no big deal". (Believe me, it was a BIG deal!) Today was chair pick up day and I was quoted a time of 1:00pm. To our delight and surprise, my phone rang at 12:59 pm! The two wonderful guys took the chair apart again and carefully moved it down 2 flights of stairs and out of our home. They were so incredibly careful of our walls as they navigated the stairways! I cannot recommend this small business enough! Very responsive to every need. My 99 and 93 year old parents needed a wheelchair ramp to safely get out of their home. The friendly and professional staff installed a built to last aluminum ramp that allows my parents to exit their home by themselves. They also replaced an old toilet with a new ADA toilet. Great guys, hard workers and they gave us an arrangement that allowed us to avoid the HUGE additional cost of a custom made curved lift. (A custom curved stairlift would have been about 3X the cost.)
